Actually, I don't really care if we can't use traction control for qualifying, I'm slower without it so that will give me an advantage come race day. :)

I can only get a 2:14.9 without TCS, with it on I was getting 2:13.2's. Seems to make a big difference for me but I'm happy to declare that I use it and if that means I have to go to a lower tier I'm also happy with that.
 
What is the most updated list? Will be updating the spreadsheet within the hour.

Also no ABS and no TC will be horrible.

By I agree with the tiers having their own options. Separates the tiers nicely IMO, but yea no abs or no TC?? I'll WANT to be in whatever tier uses them regardless the skill level.
 
I really think you should at least wait and try the real assist setting, its worked really well so far in the multiplayer races iv been in.

Yeah I've races without real assist on and with it off and still had abs and TC. Both work good. Id rather have abs and TC opposed to real assists.
 
Why aren't we using the real assists option? I'm not sure any of us are better drivers that the professionals who actually race in gt3, so if they have the option to use abs and traction, then we should as well.

Honestly try using a gt3 car without abs. It is ridiculous, the wheels lock up almost instantly (especially of there are any bumps or elevation changes) and as you don't get any feedback through the pedals, it is impossible to really know what's happening until you turn in and... oops I'm still going on a straight line.

With regards to traction control, I don't really think I will be using it. But I have pedals and a force feedback wheel, so I have more control over my throttle and more information on how the car is behaving through the corners compared to a pad user. Also chances are we will have a race or two in the rain, and without traction control those races are going to be horrible.

The simplest and probably the best solution is to put a limit of real assists on all tiers and in qualifying, and let each person choose what they want to run with.

Real assists in a gt3 car is tcs and abs, there should be no difference.

I agree, after testing with/without TCS I would opt to use it but that's mostly down to the fact I use the DS4. It makes it so I can keep up with the wheel users and although it takes some of the skill away it makes it more enjoyable - especially for long races or when my tyres are starting to drop off. On the flip side if I feel like not using TCS for a race as it limits my performance I should be able to turn it off.
 
I didn't even knew that there was something like ABS and TC. Gonna give it a go with the option(real) on this evening .Curious what laptime I will do with the Auston GT4 race car .

come race time the lobby host will set all these up in-lobby depending on level of tier.

in lobby, driving assists is separate from abs tcs and stability.


stalliono - is the roster on page 1 updated? i want to get the right people on the spreadsheet and take out anyone who didnt confirm.
 
Lol, no, real (traction control and abs) is the maximum you can use.

I have assigned buttons to tcs and abs, so I can turn them on and off on demand. To do this however you can't choose real assists, as you won't be able to turn them off and on in race.

Sorry I missed "roll call". I haven't been following this thread as it's quite lengthy with a lot of discussion about assists, etc.

I'd like to race with all of you but I really can't follow this thread. Any chance there will be an email list / group or something a little easier to keep track of the happenings ? Maybe a Facebook group?

Agreed!! We seperated this forum with a new forum thats named (social lounge) but still, there needs to be a place where we talk "Buisness Only". Ill talk to stalliono about a facebook group. Everyone understands you're a busy guy Darin and thank you for all the great work you do for us. Would it work better for you if @STALLIONO or one of the stewards just messaged you when there was something important instead of you having to check in all the time?

Another thing that can be considered for a home for this series if it takes off, is the ISRTV forums. I can create a section specifically for this series where threads can be only about this series with designated moderators, etc.

That would be great Darin. Im sure Stalliono wouldnt have a problem with that. He will be up in the morning and we can discuss moving to your site. Sounds like a plan. Thanks Darin!!!! I will let you know if theres anything else with qualifying such as assists and what not. There has been some chatter about what should be allowed and what shouldn't. We finally get the game tomorrow and can do some testing with my t300 and a controller to see what assists the controller users may need to be competitive. Theirs been a few things brought up about assists with controllers so we will get that straight and let you know. I believe we qualifiy with stock tune as well. Ill get back to you soon!!!!

We will get it figured out. No worries. I see both sides of the coin. O and I went to get my game last night on break and gamestop was closed. Im going to give that guy hell. He said i could get it at 12 midnight that they had a launch for some other game. Talk about a tease. Ive got to wait till 10am when they open. Sucks. O well ive waited this long. I guess a few more hours wont kill me!!

My colleague KraXz will have to drop his spot in the league.
He found it too hard so that's a place available.

He will probably confirm this later.
