Quick small update
Tommy Kaira ZZ-II @ Tokyo

Mostly GT4 blur here, very little Photoshopping.

And on the other end of the scale, this has been heavily Photoshopped

Enjoy!

The reflections in your last ZZ-II shot are really nice. You do a good job using your liquify method of clean up. I tried it, but it seemed like it took me more time to make it look good than with my traditional methods. But I guess everyone has their own way of doing things. Excellent work!👍

Thanks again to everyone who has commented on my work, it's all hugely appreciated and it's nice to hear feedback. 👍
New pictures:
Contest Entries

My entry for the 'confused driver' theme in the semi final round of the 2.0 contest

My entry for the final 'open theme' contest. I'm not especially happy with it, but it won the final round in the 2.0 tournament

Unused entry for the recent open top 2.0 contest

The entry i actually used for the contest mentioned above

My most recent photo submitted for the 'Handbrake' theme in the rally contest

My entry for the '1/60 shutter speed' contest

Taken for the '007' theme PMC

Amazingly awesome. In every situation, a lot of style. I love the rare look of 4th and 5th, but all pics are excellent. The 007 shot overstands in thumbanil mode for me, more easy to understand the effect you wanted than full res version.

Moglet your pics are looking nice. Thats why you make it evry time to the polls.
Your 007 PMC entry,is something amazing. I don`t even make an entry for that comp because i know you allready taken it. you got my vote on that one for sure!

alexwrc - I don’t quite understand what you mean by the thumbnail and the fullsize 007 shot, but thanks for the feedback.

LGforce - Thankyou very much! I’m glad you like my photos, but i really think you should enter the 007 contest. Your photos have a really unique look to them that i like a lot and you could easily be a contender!

Cod_Father - Thankyou for your kind comment! If only they needed someone to prepare some GT HD photography for adverts..... ;)
Just joking, but thanks for your feedback once again.

I meant that in the 007 thumbnail, the effect of lights over the tarmac is more "condensed" and easy to see than larger pic. At leats for me :P

Wow Moglet, I haven't seen this gallery yet and I like what I see. I used to frequent this area but have been on and off lately. I really enjoyed the reflection cleanup tutorials and the lquify tool and such--I never knew you could do that. Now I can see it in your photos and the effect is awesome. You have a lot of imaginative stuff in here and most all of it is pretty badass. I have a collection of pics but haven't made a gallery yet, and I'm more into pretty basic editing rather than the "perfect" pictures that were a big thing a little while ago. Are those still around or have people gone back to their roots? Anyway, keep the good stuff coming and try to throw in more wallpaper pics without borders. I like those.

Haha, I love watching real photographers use photo mode, the results always come out awesome and this gallery is a testament to that. I like your compositions, they're different from the norm and make for really interesting shots.

I use Photoshop 7 and tried the "contract" (called "pucker" in PS7) lesson. I can't achieve the same effect because I don't have half as many seetinds as you. I think you use CS 2, and now I see why that is so much better. That sucks because I have a few good pictures that could use a puckering. Anyone know a good torrent for CS that doesn't require those stupid registration numbers and passwords and such?

I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS, not CS2.
As for your other question, i'd rather not talk about that to be honest!

Thanks for the feedback Cascada.
antihero, i've always wondered if being into actual photography makes any difference as to how good you are in GT4 photomode. I suppose it makes sense that they're related due to 'having an eye for composition' etc. Thanks for your thoughts.

Here's a very quick update for you anyway.

M5 & Viper Head On/E-Type Cruising

B&W contest final entry

This is the other entry i had ready to enter, but i changed my entry before i took this so was unable to enter it. Not sure if it would have been better or not, but never mind!

Cruising in my newly accquired E-Type. I'm very pleased with this because the long nose of the car really adds to the sense of movement

That's all for now guys.

Your shots look great, nice angles and colors, but I noticed one thing you do wrong. When you do extreme depth blurs, like your Jag pic, the reflections, since they are coming off off whatever the surroundings are, should also be blurred to that extreme level. If you don't want to screw up the shiny look on the car, you could blur them a little, and then just go easier on the depth blurs. It makes things look a little more realistic. Otherwise great shots, I like em.

Erm...the focus is on the car, and the camera is supposed to look as if it's following the car along, so the reflections would still be in focus and in their original shape. I have an image taken of a 350z in Evo magazine that demonstrates what i mean perfectly.
Obviously i enhanced the speed blur dramatically in my photo so it wouldn't apply as much, but that's the beauty of Photoshop editing.

Superb. Your shots are simply superb. Btw I also think that reflections are "moving" over the surfaces of the car, and are changing in the same way as the environment so they need motion blur too. It doesn't matter, the quality of the images are excellent with or without blur.

Technically they should have a bit of blur due to the exposure time an actual camera would need to achieve the effect of a motion blur, but they wouldn't be blurred the same amount as the rest of the image as the camera is following the car at a fixed point relative to the bodywork.
I see where you're coming from with the blurring reflections thing, but they're not exactly unblurred in GT4 anyway!

Thanks for all the feedback :)

No they wouldn't, the car would be in focus, but the reflections are of objects going by at (what seems like) 300mph. I know the car would look focused, but the only way the reflections would be is if they are moving along with the camera too.

Example 1
Example 2

EDIT: Magazines edit their pics you know, you can tell the ones I posted don't have blurs added, and very slight if they do.

Well that's kind of obvious, that's how light works. But they're not more blurred. I thought you meant they would be out of focus, my mistake.

Wow Moglet, those S14 shots are soooo realistic!! How did you do that?[/sarcasm]

I shall add and say that the reflections aren't necessarily blurred (not out of focus)--okay, slightly--or out of focus, but they are stretched out beyond legibility. The car's curved body acts like a mirror and captures everything within 180 degrees in every direction, compressing it very tightly to fit on the surface, which distorts it, making it thin and stretched.
But that's okay, because the picture (your pictures) look pretty nifty anyway.

Lancia Delta HF Integrale 'Colour Experiments'

For this series of shots i decided to go a bit wild in the colour department. The first photo is pretty much as it was in GT4, but the other two have gradient colour overlays on them to give the effect of a graduated colour filter you'd find on a normal camera. Enjoy!

As always, good or bad feedback is more than welcome.
