I need to decide what to take this time. I might even rent something. I am becoming all grown up and don't want to ruin my cars...Nurburgring is quite onerous when it comes to charge for accidents. If something goes wrong it goes silly expensive.
My insurance company has on my policy that I am specifically not covered in the Nurburgring (including main track days in other tracks of course) It made me chuckle when I read it the first time.
I don't think the insurance for your neighbour has gone up, as it is very likely that he didn't notified his insurance company. Most likely a scenario like this is not covered so it would be detrimental for him to notify it.
I will get a weekend track-day insurance, as usual. It's not that expensive and gives you some peace of mind.

Can you rent a car specifically for Ring laps? Normal rental companies, like your insurance, normally have exclusions. I know @JockeP22 had that problem when he visited.
Edit: Yes you can actually hire a race prepared car it seems! Comes with insurance as well.

You were always up there at the top in every race and always drove clean. Well deserved.
I really wanted this championship too but I probably lost my chances at Le Mans already.
I believe I'm Vice Champion though and I'll gladly take that as it's not very often I get the opportunity
to fight for championships.
I was very happy with the final race as it were, completed my goal of finishing
the race without any damage, but it was a rather lonely race to 4th. Had luck on my side in the beginning
to be able to avoid many accidents by others. Cursed my luck when I was awarded 12th on the grid by the random
starting lineup set by the game.
Yes Paul, I only had a Hertz car available to me and I didn't dare to even consider taking that to the track lol.
I still have a fond memory of watching the ADAC GT Masters races though, and sitting in the Karussell.

I will likely head back there one day. It's a great place and I love racing at Nordschleife in the PlayStation games.

These are the settings Sick used on Monday and Wednesday.
On reflection the faster lap times on Wednesday would have been better suited to 30x weather progression.
However to make it slightly different from the last two races you could try these settings that increases the fog effect.
I'll have to see how things go but I might try to drop in later. 👍
