So what does everyone think of the 1.06 update so far? Personally I haven't spent too much time with it but I think the new PP system is going to make the online races a lot more fun. Looking forward not only to the upcoming EVO / STi race but also the Ferrari vs. Lamborghini race at Rome.

So far I am liking it. Making money with b-spec remote races is good too (probably around 300k).

And having the ability to de-tune engines and add ballast will make hitting PP a lot easier. It makes having non removable mods partially acceptable (I would still rather them not be the way they are though)

Having the favorites list not be required for online cars is a plus now I can just put a few cars in there that I plan to be using in a upcoming race or ones that I just like to use.

Of course my favorite change is the removal of the stupid hard drive access warning you always had to agree to when ever the game started. I hate it when games make you press a button just to get to the main menu. I think any developer that does that needs their tv modified so every time they turn it on they have to press another button to actually display a picture.

I still think the "game" is broken haha. As far as a driving sim its the best on a console but when I have to remove every possible hp mod, use the full hp restrictor and detune the gearing to make the ai competitive in an A-Spec 1 make race there is an issue.

LOL

50 lap race at Daytona with a detuned cap to break it in was pretty funny though.

I bought GT5 for the online racing mostly and I have been enjoying the hell out of it. The PP system is a welcome addition to those lobbies where it's "bring what you got" and you want to have competitive races.

What's everyone running with the RM Cappuccino? I'm in the mid-1:29s to low 1:30s right now after a little testing.

Autumn Ring is so much fun to set up a car for. There are so many elevation and lateral roll changes that suspension settings are going to mean the difference between 3rd place and 1st place.

I might do something along those lines before tomorrow's race in a RM Cappuccino. it would be a good way to get that car ready for the Tuesday Night Cappuccino Cup Series. ;)

For the March 21st race at Le Mans, will this be a multi-class event or are we racing a specific class of racecar(Prototype or GT)? I've recently purchased a Camaro LM race car and was wondering about this.

I was thinking any car in GT5 that includes the LM suffix.

I will try to make tonight's races. Haven't been too good the 1st two weeks but not giving up... Not 100% sure I can make it tonight. If there's afull field, I'll back out and not take the spot.... If the field is 14 or less, I'll probably hop in...

I have not practiced at all or even have a car yet that fits this race.

I just bought the little Cappy RM and it sure is fun to drive!! Silly question from an old guy who isn't up to date on the latest technology...how do I find the room once it's open? Just do a search through all the rooms? Is there a way to focus the search to just find this room? I find that when I hit he refresh button it's never the same list twice so I suspect that not all the rooms are on each list, if that makes sense.

Send benda18 a friends request on psn and you will join his lounge by going to the Community tab. You wont be able to find it in the Open Lobby list.

I'm feeling pretty good then. I'm running 1:26s forward direction, and 1:28s reverse so far.

Ringer alert!

We practiced a couple 10 lap stints and I ran a 1'27.4XX. Also did some little 5 lap sprints and the race pace was a little bit higher right around 1'29-1'30 though that's with cold tires.

I think this week will be exciting with the fast guys starting in the back for race 2 and probably a mixed lineup for race 3.

Benda your second post in the thread is essentially a throw away post, why don't we use that as a results or recap post so we can review how the other races went.

I'll probably do some testing today so add me on psn and join my lounge if you see me in there.

Sounds good. I'll have my digital camera ready for tonight's race so I can quick capture the results and throw them up.

Been doing around 1:33 on the pad, but that was offline. Should have tuned online, because I took it online and I can't even finish a lap with my wheel. Then again, I'm randomly spinning out on straights with cold tires holding the wheel firm, so I'm doing a game data reinstall to see if it fixes that.

What PP are we looking at for the STi vs EVO race next week?

For the next 1-make race if we want to do slow cars again I wouldnt mind doing a Nissan March race. I was pleasantly surprised with it during the special event it was needed in.

So what does everyone think of the 1.06 update so far?

1.06 is great with the ballast and full gear ratio tuning, but I found it really screwed up my steering on the DFGT until a changes the new "Controller Sensitivity" setting all the way up to 7, which is maximum sensitivity. I was sliding out and spinning out on turns because there was suddenly this deadzone on my wheel, since I tend to use fine movements on the wheel. It's like night and day going from 0 to 7 on the sensitivity settings.

Good races tonight. Sorry about getting sideways in front of the pack on the first lap of that second race. I was trying to hold but it just got away from me.

Great racing tonight everyone. Race #1 tonight battling for third with yuritardid and Stormtrooper was the best racing I've ever had. Thanks so much for participating. I hope you're looking forward to the next race as much as I am.

Autumn Ring - Suzuki Cappuccino
Monday February 21 - Lobby Open @ 9:00pm, Race @ 9:30pm Eastern

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
This week we'll be doing things a bit differently. Instead of a single hour-long smash-up endurance race we're going to try doing 3 x 20 minute races with a small car (Suzuki Cappuccino) on a small circuit (Autumn Ring). Hopefully this will keep the racing a bit tighter than the last 2 weeks. Look for reverse-order starting grids. As an FYI I spent about 240,000 Cr. (including purchase price) on the '95 race-modifying it and adding all possible extras.

For the March 14th race, I've come up with a clever title. Too bad the slot for March 7th was already taken, beacuse I thought this would have been appropriate...

"FORWARRRRD, MARCH!" :D

I'm thinking we should race the Nissan March cars on the Top Gear Test Tack in a series a sprint races like we did with the Cappuccino's last night on Autumn Ring. If not there, maybe Grand Valley East, Cape Ring South, Cape Ring Inside, Tsukuba Circuit or Suzuka East?

Timing will be good, we won't have had a small car race for quite some time. And I personally think the figure-8 layout of the TGTT would be great for one of these types of events. Not to mention it sounds fun as 🤬 I'll go ahead and pencil it in.
