I don't or never followed the Vita so I actually don't have a clue. All I remember is having only 4 players in multiplayer.

If there isn't a dramatic difference then I'm cool with Vita times.

Hyland - 1.08.38 - Lamborghini Countach - [TTP, BNP, LCP, ABP, LGP]

Eh, I just managed to improve my time, by a margin. I found it really hard to get a good consistent run. Opponents never taking the same route once in the beginning and traffic always at random places.

Sorry for the tardiness, guys. I went out for lunch and forgot about this. New event is up now!

Speed Run - To The Bridge

Lancer 230.8 km/h (otp, bnp, lcp, ab, sgp)

Oh. How many of you playing are using MPH?

I think more than half of the people doing this use MPH... Either way I'm posting in MPH plus since they force English in this place we should force MPH. :P

143.7MPH - Subaru Impreza [ OTP, BNP, LCP, AB, SGP/LGP ]

145.1MPH - Lancer [ OTP, BNP, LCP, AB, SGP ]

I gave the Impreza a quick whirl just now. Not sure how I managed to pull it off:

148.2 mph (OTP, BNP, LCP, ABP, LGP)

When I first ran this, I'd go through the buried pipe in the construction area. This time I didn't so I wouldn't get the little jump right after.

This time, instead of going the big long way around the first split in the freeway.

After that I went on the oncoming side, switched back to my side of the road, drifted the next wide left bend, drifted the right bend to the straight away, switched to oncoming, boosted, back to my side, took the last ramp, landed in the dirt, bounced, and rode the wall on the last turn.

Yes you'll have to ride the wall on those dumb highway exits. It's like Criterion didn't care the slightest if anyone would bother making that turn without touching the walls.

I stay in same way traffic the entire way & actually drift the LONG ASS BEND on the highway doing 145MPH+. On these kinds of events you want to take the longest path possible that will keep your speed up. I found jumping the gap in the highway slowed me down to much.

Ideally the more you drive at a higher speed, the better off you are... but only to an extent. If the longer route requires you to slow down then that works against you. Not only that, the longer you drive, the more you'd have to drive at a even higher speed to increase your average, and distance isn't unlimited so this isn't exactly what you'd fall back on immediately all the time.

Another thing to remember is that you're being recorded for an overall speed, so if your run is a short distance but driven through at high speeds, you'd match the same results as your long runs.

On this one it's better to stay in same way traffic in the beginning because it's a wider corner than oncoming & it can be drifted faster. I charge my entire nitrous bar drifting that sucker.

150.3MPH Subaru Impreza [ OTP, BNP, LCP, AB, LGP ]

Told you jumping down slows you down to much. Also I actually made the off-ramp drift granted my rear end scraped the wall a bit. Came out of it doing almost 120MPH.

Sorry, I'm on a PC and while I admit I'm not the penultimate driver, I've run this race (and previous events) multiple times over and while I can see where some mistakes might earn me time/speed, quite frankly, especially with this one, I simply cannot see how the times you're posting are possible, let alone plausible.

I sincerely hope this doesn't come off as sour grapes, but I'm pretty darned good (granted not *the best*) and there is no possible way the times you've posted are realistic for my version of this game.

Are you (Spoil-t & AOS-) also on PC or some other system?

Post your time Velaxi, I would be interested to see how we compare. I am running a 129 MPH with the Subaru. Will post official time with settings later.

I managed a super-clean run in the Subaru and got 139.5 mph. Using the same setup as the previous posters. [ OTP - LGP]

*edit* P.S.: I haven't been able to duplicate it, my average is around 134. Got close just now with a 139.0.

AOS & me are really good because we understand the game's physics so well. We can make the cars (most of them) drift the most swallow bends fast which means GOOD TIMES. Remember it all comes down to nitrous & drift technique plus route/line choice.

BTW we're PS3 players & I would gladly record myself for you if I had the equipment to do so.

Dude understand I'm not accusing anyone of anything; rather, I'm saying that the port is bad: the game & cars behave differently across different systems. What's possible on one is not possible on the other; ergo, comparing PC times to PS3 times is always going to come up wanting. When you can do 145+ in a long corner and my car can MAX 135 in the same conditions, we're comparing apples and bananas.

I watched to video for the previous event and again: the lambo does a major drift at speed that simply cannot be done on the pc at the same speeds. I suspected it then, and this event only proves it further.

*edit*
The only real way to prove what I'm saying would be to have AOS- come over to my house and try to duplicate his time (or even come close) on my machine, and see the discrepancies for himself. (He lives like an hour from here). I'm game, though...

With HP 2010 the game was the same across the 3 main platforms. PC of course could be hacked/modded but I owned them both & could replicate results. I assume this game is the same. It should be working the best with PC since it was built for the PC & ported down to the consoles.

Now are you using a keyboard, game pad & wheel? If you ain't using a game pad you won't do well with this game.

MOMO wheel, split axis.
There's your problem. With this game you can't drift to your full potential with a wheel because you can't cut the car's wheels back & forth fast enough. With a pad you can do that which makes drifting easier & more efficient.

Sorry, I don't buy it.
I can more precisely angle my wheels, adjust my throttle, adjust my braking, powerbrake, and all kinds of other goodies that you can't do with a pad. The controller isn't the issue, the platform is.

(Further, I've got a reconstructed left hand and a pad is out of the question for me).

Sorry, I just find wheels inferior to pads for arcade racers. If this was GT5 you would be whooping us. If we take input devices out of the equation then it must be your PC set up but w/e I don't know your issues unless I get my hands on a PC copy so this is all speculation on my part.

That's cool. I appreciate the POV you guys are presenting.

Let.s perform a simple test, shall we?

I'm going to equip my Range Rover Evoque with TTP, BNP, LCP, ABP, SGP, and take it on free roam on the freeway and post my top speed. You guys on PS3 post yours, which should be the same. Right?

*Edit*
Given above conditions, I max out at 141mph on a straight without deviation under nitrous.

It's gonna do like 120 something. I know it does 154MPH with Long Gears.
The point is to compare systems under controlled conditions and spot any discrepancies. If any exist, then we can safely assume that the game behaves differently across platforms, and that this contest, admirable as it is, is inherently flawed due to design failures.

*with LGP I top out at 159mph on a flat stretch; 162 going downhill.

Interesting.

Hardly a conclusive test, but preliminary results are not in favor of my hypothesis.

So until we can find another way to prove or disprove my point: My hat is off to the both of you, your times/speeds are superb.

Peace,
Velaxi.

(Also, thank you for taking the time to indulge this test).

I just did this: 152.6MPH - Subaru Impreza [ OTP, BNP, LCP, AB, LGP ]

Crappy webcam video to come.

As you can see, I'm number 4 in the most wanted list video, with that sexy avatar. :D

Don't forget that not do you have to avoid coming into contact with anything, you mustn't be having too many slower moments that will cripple your average speed.

We can make the cars (most of them) drift the most swallow bends fast which means GOOD TIMES.

I didn't feel this event has so much to do with this than most HP3 events we've had.

I can record a run of what line I took to show you how I accomplished my record, Velaxi. See if you can match it.

Also, Spoil-t, grab an EasyCAP if you got extra cash lying around. You got a laptop and they're cheap and easy to use. I ordered another one just last week and hopefully I can get MUCH better video quality than before.

I have to spend $2,000 on my vehicles this month so no EasyCAP. Can't even afford to get lousy gift cards for my family for Christmas. Anyway, if you put the video in 720p while on YT it's not that bad looking. It would be less blurry if I didn't have my laptop on the floor angled up.

& fudge I hit 2 instead of 6 for my time so if you didn't catch that before the edit...

Everytime you say you got no recording gear, I just need to remind you that the cheapest Easycap out there is only $11, though I wouldn't recommend that unless you want better quality videos.
