MotoGP: Rossi Takes Pole!

Incredible!
His first qualifying session on the Yamaha and he sets pole.

Can Rossi really win his first race? Or win his arch-rival Max Biaggi win?
I have no idea, but it'l be a good race.

I watched the race. Rossi did exceptionally well to hold off Biaggi on the Honda. I always thought Rossi was just riding the best equipment, but he showed that he is genuinely a top class rider.

His braking was incredible to keep aahead, though the final pass was a bit dodgy.
It was good to see Rossi and Biaggi shake hands after the race, I was getting a bit fed up with their silly arguments.

Did anyone see the WSB? Chilli was 10 seconds behind Laconi with 10 laps to go, no one though he could catch Laconi, but he won by 1.4 seconds after taking him on the last lap.

Laconi was thrashing his 999, sideways most corners, but couldn't stay ahead of Chili on a 998 with a 2 year old chassis (although it has a 999 engine). Best riding in WSB since the Edwards vs Bayliss last race a few years ago.

I stopped watching WSB. The Supersports offer better racing IMO. Haga is disappointing, as usual.

Rossi is the Schumacher of motogp. It was interesting to see Hodgeson on last years Duke ahead on Bayliss on this years machine. Edwards also faded a bit on the Honda, which was unexpected.

Did you watch the 250 race? Porto coming from 22nd to 3rd in 5 laps was something else!

You missed it? Noooo.
I didn't see the 250cc race, I'm in the UK and haven't got satellite so I couldn't see it. I can't see Supersports either. The first WSB race wasn't that good, but the second was great.

WSB has become like a one race series. The days of Bayliss, Edwards, Xaus and Bostrom were the best.

I don't know, I thought it would suck with the new tyres but the race had Kawasaki, Foggy Petronas, Ducati 999 and 998 all in the top three.
After the race, I was so full of energy I got on my mountain bike and pelted it round the woods near my house before hitting 39 miles per hour in torrential rain. It was great. I came back plastered in mud and soaking wet ut I was grinning because of the adrenalin.

Considering that Honda and HRC are determined to 'destroy' Rossi, and that the Honda has been said to be putting out 'well over 250 bhp', I found it pretty suprising. You could see that the Honda did have a small advantage on the large straights and on the faster corners, but Rossi's braking was exceptional to keep ahead.
