Sponsors and owners want drivers that can win and run up front. Like him or not, Kurt has proven that he can do what so many in cup can't. I think he will end up with a ride somewhere.

You'd be surprised at who would want Kurt, and RCR is really looking hard at him. You put any other driver in that same car, and I wouldn't be surprised if results weren't about the same. Yea I'm sure a few races it would be closer to the front or not wrecked.
Yup.
I agree with the 2nd sentence immensely.
I don't know why people think it's the driver that's not performing when the finishing position is poor.

This past weekend I watched qualifying and was hoping Burton would back up his practice time (fastest) but he did not.
He was great in turns 1 and 2 but not so in turns 3 and 4.
As always, no rear grip, and he came out 20th, bad.
It was a crazy (delays) race and he finished 6th with a car he was not complaining about later in the race.

Listening to the radio is a great way to understand what really happens during a race.
Timing and scoring is also helpful with knowing lap times.

Burton has a multiyear contract, so 2013 should see him in the 31 car.
Not that contracts aren't broken.

Busch is a champion and I think many teams (especially newer) would hire him.

Some info.

Well, team owners looking at Kurt is one thing, and as long as he is racing for a less than top team, they will continue looking at him.

Being able to get him a sponsor is completely different. As no sponsor has yet to step up, that shows there is still a lingering issue with what Kurt did last year, and with some incidents he has had this year, it's not helping his cause.

Kurt isn't what he use to be, and it's because of that and his attitude that's going to see him out of the cup series very quickly.

Jeff Gordon is bringing back the mustache since he made the chase.

Maybe if he wins the championship he will rock the mullet again next year.

Please no mullet.

He had promised his crew that if he made the chase he'd grow his mustache out, so now he has to live up to his words. Although, when I saw him doing an interview on TV yesterday he had a goatee as well. Guess the beard portion will be shaved off.

Gordon already has a mullet. Not like the one he used to have, of course.

Jeff is starting to look like Dale Sr with that stache lol

We need a picture with him, Earnhardt and Johnson with staches and beards :sly:

Now we just need Kasey to sprout one, though it seems his face hasn't hit puberty yet

I have a felling that he will be a future superstar at penske racing and win many championships.

Congrats to Ryan Blaney and BKR.

👍

Just caught a replay of that race, extremely pleased to see Ryan in victory lane. He's got a seriously bright future ahead of him.

9 laps in and already the leader is pulling away. Just the start of a boring race where the leader Laps everyone up to 14th then there is a debris caution.

It's only the start of the race. Don't freak out just yet.

Again?

Great, Gordon's chance at #5 gets screwed up yet again, this time right from the get-go.

While there are 9 races left after this one, the way Gordon's luck has been, and due to the competitive nature of the sport, I don't see him catching up.

If Johnson wins the championship this year, you can bet that he will have 8 championships, if not more by the time he retires.

Fixed for the truth. The amount of bad luck Jeff Gordon has had this year is just incredible. He should seriously consider going to an exorcist during the off season to purge him of whatever is causing this.

Yeah, there's probably a bigger chance of Gordon getting abducted by aliens than him winning another race this season.

How bad can one person's luck get? Gordon has been more snakebit this year than any NASCAR driver in any season. Might as well have a "Jeff Gordon Award" to the unluckiest driver at the end of each season.

I did not see any of the race, but I know who won... just not spoiling. As someone said when I asked who is done- wait until later in the Chase. Just because you're in an early hole in the Chase doesn't mean you're out after one race. There is a difference between being out and having to work to recover. There are still nine races left before it's all said and done. Get ready for the next race.
