While there are 9 races left after this one, the way Gordon's luck has been, and due to the competitive nature of the sport, I don't see him catching up.

I think he still has a chance. Don't give up on him now just because of 1 wreck. Anything could happen in the next 9 weeks.

Mathematically, yes, though you have to think that Gordon isn't as good as the other guys. Being 47 points back means that Gordon will have to finish in the top 10 every week, and have the other chase contenders struggle, which I think is impossible.

Nice to see the #2 team stand up to the #48 team.

👍

Looks like a good deal of the chase field had trouble this week, nearly half of them!
Jr - engine, start at the back
Gordo - stuck throttle
Kenseth - shock
Bif - pit stop
Hamlin - fuel

Good to see the blue deuce in victory lane again, would be great to see Dodge give the captain his first nascar cup! May help bring them back in sooner also.

I was glad to see Brad pull out the win! He flat out drove away from the 48, and Jimmie wanted to cry about basically losing time. I mean it wasn't like he pulled out in turn 1 and actually was infront of Brad but Brad took a big chance to drive under him. It stuck and off he went!

Well, do you think that Jeff Gordon will be able to catch back up?

Its possible. Alot of us including myself had wrote him off for even making the chase and look what happened. Plus that mustache has got to be worth a win or two.:dopey:

I know we're talking about the Chase, but I want to make a shout-out to Ryan Blaney. He won the Trucks race at Iowa on Saturday night to become the youngest Trucks winner. Dude is only 18 years old. In addition, it's the seventh first-time winner in Trucks this season. It is really refreshing and pleasing how much the young generation is really coming together in NASCAR to help shape the future of the sport. You have to love it.

I still can't believe how Brad pulled away from johnson! It's usually the hendrick cars that pull away.

I also think Penske made a mistake switching to ford if a Dodge is capable of pulling away from a chevy...let alone a HMS chevy.

I do agree BUT it's probably better overall to have someone to lease engines from along with some technical data. Granted they actually seem to be stronger with Dodge but remember what Penske owns too.

It looks like they just stuck a new nose on the old body and that's it.

I found a nest in a tree, and what did I see? A 2013 NASCAR Toyota Camry.

That's what happens when you make boring street cars.

Well...yes...but, they really need to start making 2-door, V-8, rear-wheel drive versions of their street cars if they really want to sell on Monday.

Well I expected something to match the originality of Ford's 2013 entry. It looks like Toyota just kept the same shape of the 2012 car and stuck a 2013 nose and rear on it.

Not really. If anything, the 2012 car is the 2011 car with new decals (saw one upclose at the State fair last year, still saw the indentions for the 2011 decals.

Would love to know what you were smoking because the nose doesn't look the same at all to me. The 2013 one nose is more shapely, even has some sculpted work in the fender flare. The Splitter area isn't even the same size, its actually smaller.

That's what happens when you make boring street cars in the US.

Fixed.

The Magic Mile (or as I call it, the Boring Mile) is up next in the Chase. Nationwide and Trucks will rock and roll Bluegrass style at Kentucky- Friday night for Trucks and Saturday afternoon for Nationwide. Good luck to all drivers and teams racing this weekend, regardless of who your favorites are.

Maybe my buddy R1600Turbo was right in talking about Chicagoland and/or the Chase itself is boring. Why so? It was reported that the Chicagoland event had poor ratings. I don't honestly care about ratings with most things. However, putting "ratings" and "NASCAR" and "poor" in the same sentence means trouble. Check out this Yahoo! Sports article saying that the Chicagoland event was a "dud": http://sports.yahoo.com/news/hot-no...se-chicago-proving-dud-002800566--nascar.html

Based on this article, what do you think about the Chase?
