Looks like another 55 car. Plus it seems they will mostly be 2009 schemes so if Kenseth is in it will probably have DeWalt colors.

Yea you are right, these schemes are from 2009, and Kenseth has Crown Royal since beggining 2010.
The first car may be Denny Hamlin. I though the second car on the high side could be Burton, but i`m wrong, the rear bumper of Burton`s car is completely black, so i thnik that second car is Gordon with another scheme. And who is ahead him on the high side?
I`d dont like to see 2009 schemes, but i hope to have livey editor to make our own shcmes, or 2010 schemes.

PD: It`s a plaeasure for me talk with most of you (americans) about Nascar. I love it. Euro people doesnt like Nascar a lot of.

I could see most teams agreeing to have their cars in GT5.

The multi car teams have products of every kind and if MWR, Hendrick's, and JGR cars are included why wouldn't other teams like RCR and Roush want to be included?
I would think sponsors also have a say about their logo's being shown, but it is free advertising, or is it?

Now if we have 6 to 8 of the same cars to make a full (16) field I would like to see some of the #24's night race paint scheme/livery, at a night race, at Daytona.
And that goes for the rest of the teams.

Whatever PD includes will be fine, IMO, but I would really like any #31 livery. :sly:

I watched the video many times, and I can now confidently say that none of the cars in that video are new.

You must keep in mind that this video was made last year around mid summer, when not as many team paint schemes were modeled yet. (As shown in the E3 09 Trailer)

I`m agree, but i have never seen that scheme before.

Sam48, you are right, these video may be from April 2009, or November 2009 (The Chase for the Cup)

You could tell in the E3 video that they used "fantasy" liveries. I think I recall a white and a red 55.

Yeah, i saw that scheme on E3 triler, what i mena, is that i have never seen that scheme in the real life.
This is the pic you mean, right?

There`s three #24 Gordon, three #88 Dale JR two #11 Denny Hamlin
Three #55 Waltrip`s CAR.

What driver is the car between Waltrip Red Scheme an Gordon? Dale Jr RED SCHEME?

Most of these scheme are "fantasy"

Edit: I forgot #14 Stewart

Wandering how well GT will be able to simulate NASCAR.

Seems like a big step for a game series that up until now has been limited to 6
cars on a track at a time and no damage. Out of all of the race series, stock car racing perhaps has the most wrecks, largest car fields etc. I am okay with it being included, just questing their motives and perhaps time spent to include it. If they can not include more than 16 cars on the track at a time for NASCAR, this will already be not a true representation of the series. If they are unwilling to include good damage (roll overs, flips) this will further reflect bad on their attempt to include it. Not a fan of EA Sports NASCAR games, but have played a few. However have not played any long enough to really get a feel or understanding of the games especially tunning. Did however own Dirt to Daytona and really liked that game but traded it in. Tunning and mechanical damage, especially tire wear (physical tire damage) should be a big factor for stock car racing. Am wandering how well GT will reflect this part of NASCAR.

I am frustrated like the majority that GT5 is not out yet. I baught the PS3 for the primary purpose of GT5. Will GT5 be the only game that will be able to include NASCAR? Unless GT5 was to be able to include the full NASCAR series (with all the tracks), I could not see NASCAR signing a contract inwhich they could not be used on other games. Further more since GT is not released every year will they intend on updating the NASCAR car roster every year or everytime a team/driver runs a new paint scheme.

I sure hope they have done their research and have carefully planned how NASCAR will be implemented. Sure hope it is not like rally that has been done so far (meaning more of a novelty).

I expect that NASCAR will be good.... however with so many unknowns there are lots and lots of questions. Who knows maybe they intend to include full blown race career modes this time for the different race series.

The easiest way to ensure schemes are in the game right after they've been raced is actually quite simple, including a livery editor or even photoshop files with a web or USB upload system (like EA did with NASCAR 09), you can see how having a way to edit liveries has worked out for games like F3 or N09, both have highly active communities creating every scheme from just about every race (myself included). Another wonderful example is NR2003, 8 years on and people are still painting for it, new modifications are being released to simulate the COT and more, the communities are really bigger than ever and it provides a longer shelf life for these titles so they won't be forgotten anytime soon.

If GT5 really wanted to make this work, it should be done as a cross between what EA did with NASCAR 09 and what iRacing.com has;

Starts out with publicly released templates (in .psd), which people paint on using the massive resources provided for things like NR2003/N09/etc.

Provide an upload service or feature in the game to load the schemes from a USB drive (or PS3 HDD), and optionally provide a website to host these schemes for public download (iRacing has a fan made site named TradingPaints that lists all the uploaded schemes)

Then for manufacturer reasons, apply a "Stamp" layer that applies the decals of the specific car (Chevy Impala, for example), aswell as the parts, therefore the manufacturer sponsorship isn't wasted when someone uploads their Ford Fusion template or Dodge charger (assuming those don't make it into the game), iRacing does this pretty well. N09 didn't do this because they didn't have manufacturer support and now there's hundreds of templates for all the different manufacturers.

Provide these schemes to atleast the user's PSN friends when they sign on to GT5, and if the server can handle it, provide it to anyone who races with this user (Can cause lag if the servers aren't good enough, i.e. EA's N09 servers), many sites will open up (if GT5 gets a livery editor I will create a section for it on my site, MRG, for example) and provide schemes, you get a big enough community and people will be painting and providing content for this game until GT6 or longer! (great way to keep your fanbase interested aswell). (NASCAR 09, despite being 2 years old, still has a gigantic userbase due in part to having the painting community keeping the game updated, in this generation of consoles a game getting content after 2/3 years is nearly unheard of)

Then you hire Christopher Little as your NASCAR scheme designer to fix the crappy Gordon flames and provide weekly updates to the game with new schemes :dopey:

From,
Chris.

If you played Prologue you would or could have known GT already has more than 6 cars on a track, 16 in fact so even if that may not replicate realistically an entire NASCAR field it comes close and we don't know yet how many cars max there will be on a track for GT5.

Read his post again....and pay attention.

Close? I would say far from. Like you said, Prologue had 16 cars running at once. A NASCAR race has 43 cars running at once.

Close, no, not really.

Will 16 satisfy me?, sure

I'm wondering if we'll get Spotters for the full game, swinging around at 240 km\h with 16 cars inches from you and no spotter will make things very tricky.

Spotters are an essential part of NASCAR racing, like Co-Pilots to Rally.

In car sound for the COT's impression.

Very GT-esque.. very nice rumble at low revs however, but gota bit whistly and nasal as the RPMs got higher, but the REPLAY SOUND< was AMAZING.

Watching the re-run of the G4 coverage today and noticed the NASCAR driver playing the game. As he was going down the back stretch at Indy, the car switched into.....5th gear.

Wrong! :P

Anyone think we'll be seeing Joey Logano sporting GT5 on his Gamestop Toyota at the season Finale at Homestead? Seeing as it'll be released in November, the exact same time the Nascar season ends and it'll feature Nascar, I would think there would no better way to hype up the fans.

Well it is Kevin Conway, who is a rookie :P

Without 43 cars or at least close to that on track, NASCAR races/tracks won't be exciting. That's what makes NASCAR NASCAR, racing 2 & 3 wide at 180 mph with that many cars is just intense.

Well seeing as its GT5 and not a dedicated NASCAR sim, I'd think thats about as close as you can get.

Does anyone else think the NASCAR cars seem to have way to much downforce in this game? To some, it probably didn't appear that way because the majority of the people couldn't find their way off the wall. But, the one's who was holding a "pretty wheel" could easily do 175-180 mph through the corners, nearly wide open. That is physically impossible to do with the COT cars in real life at Indy

This is what I was worried about. I was worried if PD could simulate the physics of NASCAR correctly. I know there is a long way to go until release date and things could change. But judging from what I witnessed today, I didn't care much for what I saw as far as physics (and sound to an extent) are concerned.

Now, I will stop complaining and just be happy that NASCAR is in GT5. One more thing. Graphical wise I was completely blown away by the overall design of the cars (interior and exterior) as well as the great job they did on the paint schemes. I can't wait to see what other drivers that add to the roster.

In one of the interview\info pools, i saw a mention of "Full NASCAR Races".

Any word on Restrictor plates, and spotters, or rules?
