I feel your pain Cale.

Also, there's something that's been bugging me to know. Do you think that PD will include the Nationwide and Truck series in GT5 as EA has in the past? (Well, not AS they did, but you get my point.)

Well, they did say "9 NASCAR models" so it's a possibility. I hope they have the Nationwide COT's. I hope they have the trucks as the last time they were truly in a console game was Dirt 2 Daytona(awesome game by the way), EA just had crappy generic ones.

I still play D2D sometimes.

@terminator363 Watch this video in its entirety on full screen. :) This will show you a good representation of NASCAR.

Impressive video, i was going to reply boring, but watching that video was very engaging, think the best part was the pit crew and driver commentating and leading the driver forward.
Now picture that online = Total disaster with friends and a nightmare with randoms, playing GT5P is enough of a nightmare with randoms pushing and punting for no reason at all. Hope they make the nascar physics tight like the AI cars and not easy to spin, that would make it so enjoyable not worrying about getting spun every 2secs or bit of lag and you push your mate into a huge spin etc. that would totally blow it personally.

I'll be glad if they include the new Nationwide models. It'll give me a chance to see how they compare to the street versions. :mischievous: And D2D was that good? Dang it. My parents got it for me one day as a little surprise, but I didn't get to play it as our PS2 was in the shop. I then came home from school the next day to the news that my little brother stepped on it and broke it. :grumpy: Never really looked back on it. Is it worth buying?

EDIT: The Nationwide cars should be in, as Joey Lagono's car is included as a preorder bonus for Gamestop.

Yea, considering that Americans are really good at one thing...

Entertainment. I have never understood why people outside the States think we would be so interested in such a "boring" sport. Personally, I think a lot of people just haven't seen what makes Americans enjoy the sport. Which is mostly due to the fact that NASCAR is so different.

Personally, I am a huge fan of F1, but I'm pretty freaking excited about the addition of NASCAR. Private lobbies with such close racing (if done right) could be a great addition.

Thank you for keeping an open mind and watching the video. 👍 Also, lets hope we get one of my favorite tracks (in regard to your name) Bathurst.:)

!!!EPIC: RALLY NASCAR AT DAYTONA:EPIC!!!!!

Navigator: Left Medium Turn

Navigator: Long Turn Left

Navigator: Straight

Navigator: Long Left

Navigator:Medium Left

Driver: Have you realized we are going in circles

Navigator: ...oh? I never noticed until now....

Wow.:ouch:

They dont tell you where to go, they tell you whos coming up behind you, who is to either side when you're going high or low, your position, your laptimes, laps to go, any flag rules, and anything else contributing to keeping you alive in a stampede of several dozen 800hp 200mph cars.

BTW am I the only one who thinks "epic" should be added to the banned words of the GTP AUP?

That's a cool video 👍 With the 32 player lobby and 16 player race, it would be cool to team up with another person (1 racer and 1 spotter)

That would be awesome...but I don't think you can team up and isolate comms in a lobby.

But then what would happen if they tell you the wrong thing/go to the bathroom/turn off PS3 etc.

That's why team racing is hard online. You need cooperation.

^^Agreed, I think that's an awesome Idea. You don't have to worry about looking around to distract you on your concentration. But your out of luck if your spotter sucks.

Wouldn't this create this potential for up to 32 people talking at once? On NASCAR 09, just 14 people can get really annoying (especially in league races).

I have actually had very little playing time on PSN. But I assume there is an option to mute people so you could only hear your spotter/crewchief.

Of course its all speculation but im guessing you wont be hearing 16 people talk over each other like COD or something.

I'm sure (using logic mostly) that for every driver there will be one "spectator" instead of having to mute 15 people every time.

Yep. You can always mute everyone except your spotter during the race.

Agree. You'll need someone reliable. When the game's out, there will be tons of racing league created right here on GTP so there will be reliable teammate for sure.

Based on other racing game, the spectator can scroll between cars and the cam will stay on that car.

Wow. Consider my opinion of Nascar massively changed, at 2.05 onwards i had serious goosebumps. Those Drivers have seriously sized man parts to go 3 wide at 190+ mph:scared: .. Millimetres from the wall. Having only seen clips of nascar before (From pocono .. I think. Where they were running single file, i did think it was fairly boring) but i had never seen a superspeedway race before. That was insane 👍 :sly:

There is 8 more races to get to the chase. It will start September 19 at New Hampshire.

Thanks man, I have never been so hyped for Nascar in my life. Once again GT has gave me light in another Motorsport. Nascar has been so fun watching Cant wait for the chase thanks again man. 👍

I watch nascar here in Aus on a new digital channel called TV ONE, my tivo records it for me LOL. Its not as bad as many think, at the same time its not the greatest, i also enjoy my F1 over Nascar, but some races are packed with so much punch.

And i would so love Bathurst to be in the game, sadly Code's still own the rights to it i think, so here's to a new V8SuperCars/Toca game!

Very rarely do we get coverage of Nascar at a decient hour in the UK on terrestrial (Channel 5) but I find it quite facinating and I'm glad I can learn more about the sport through GT5.

The next thing GT needs is the Dakar licence and have terrain like Enthusia but going miles into the distance!

Robin.

If true, that sucks. Didn't know any tracks gave out exclusive rights though.

This has to be one of the best features in the game. I heard somewhere that they will include all the tracks and all the drivers. Is this true?

No, thus far we have only seen 2 tracks and around 10-12 drivers. I'm expecting another track or two and enough drivers to bring the field to 16 different drivers.

Expecting PD to have all the drivers/tracks isn't a very realistic expectation as they have never fully featured an entire series, they have always just had a small segment of it.

Tracks aren't exclusive to series licenses so it can easily be included.

What happed to this car?

ivfg34.jpg

Daytona Superspeedway
Indianapolis Superspeedway
Motegi Superspeedway
Infineon Raceway Stock Car Course
Driving Park Test Course

Semi-decent lineup so far for a NASCAR series and we still could see another official course or two. Perhaps the GT1/GT2 Test Course would be more suited for NASCAR but the giant course from GT3 and GT4 could still be interesting simply cause it's so big.

hope the damage wont be like ea sports nascar with the same damage everytime with only a couple crash models. it should be like infinite crash models
