I don't think a night race at Daytona is possible...Is it?

No, it seems that PD focused on the Ring & Le Mans since their likely to be the only 24 hour races in the endurance events like they where in GT4. It would have been great to get a night race on the oval & time/weather on the road course.

It's a shame with too few NASCAR courses that PD would not carry over from GT4 the few such as Infineon Raceway & Motegi Oval.

Even if it's not dynamic time changes, is it possible to set the time of day to a "static" night time?

I wonder...

Then you would see the track list almost double. They consider a "night" track to be a variation, not an option.

Maybe you will have this option in GT6: the real GT5 simulator :)

Me too. It makes you think... I guess we will find out.

Rest assure guys, if Daytona is in the night time, then we will race there in the day and night. :)

I will address this tonight. It is not easy to read, I agree.

I wouldn't count those out quite yet. While they defiantely don't appear on the "official list", A overwhelming majority of that said list appears directly in "Beginner Courses". How do we know there isn't "Amateur Courses" and then "Expert Courses"? I know I sound optimistic, but seeing almost all those courses in what appeared to be in only one tier of courses just leaves heavily doubting that list and I rarely doubt anything Official.

Edit: Well I'll be damned. I just watched the video and counted (including variations) and the number I got is 77, more then the 74 shown on the official list and this is all in "Beginner Tracks" mind you.

Can you elaborate on the "Beginner Courses" concept? It sounds like a pretty compelling find.

These are tracks available for use immediately in arcade (or in tekken's case, practice)

And point us to the video you were viewing! Most compelling!

After searching for it, it appears to have been taken down by Sony :indiff:

Edit: Whew! Someone else has luckily reuploaded it (ironically also reffering to it as Beginner courses)

Well, I'm trying to think what could be an amateur track... Maybe Texas or Infineon?

No 24/hr of Daytona..Thats no good

Don't get your hopes down it's just the Arcade list of tracks. The 24hr of Daytona would be in sim mode not Arcade. We've just seen the Arcade tracks on video so far none of the other tracks and race events ( remember that ).

I was just thinking since we already have a pretty good idea of the capabilities of the Track Maker why wont we just get the information for the NASCAR track lay outs and build them. It would give us a full calendar as well throw in four tracks from the GT list.

( Back on subject guys )

@ Chad

I just looked over the rules and noticed that we'll have the voice option on during qualifying. Will it be turn of during while we are racing? I think it would be a good idea to, I think it would keep us on our toes. And i still can't see the log in fields.

Give me some time on the login fields. Right now, if you login, it takes you no where, and gives you nothing extra. I have yet to figure out what I would hide from non-members. For now, you are not missing anything. :)

The voice option will be OFF for qualifying. Radio Silence. :)

During a race, it will be on, but it is suppose to be light. I have considered using a Ventrillo server to allow teams, or a driver and a spotter to have a private voice chat. I think once we get GT5, and after a few weeks, we will test a lot of these things. Look for these forums for updates and the website.

Grate idea. But we dont know if the coures maker will let us do it?lets wait and see.

It'll suck if they forgot to put a banking slider into the course maker, it'll make for yet another instance of PD neglecting oval racing.

Why would you want the slider? Yea maybe to learn the tracks but to race i don't think so. Now if you want to do that just keep it on it your options it'snot up to the person who make the lobby i don't think, though we'll see.

It will, if you remember the first video we got on the Track Maker we seen BANKING right. Now with the other video we seen on the menu part of the Track Maker we seen enough banking degrees to do this. So it will work but the only we don't know if we'll be able to make the track surface ruff, so far we just seen a smooth track surface.

I think you misunderstood me.
I was under the impression that there'd be no way to add banking in course maker. But as you pointed out there does appears to be a way to create banking. By slider I meant an option to adjust banking, which I desperately want in order to create NASCAR ovals

There is no banking slider. Only sliders for complexity, width and sharpness in the sector tabs.

This is not the only video we've seen of the track maker. This one doesn't show any banking but the other did. They we're here on the news page and you tube. Sony asked Jordan and You Tube to remove the video so we'll never see it again unless someone has it saved to their PC.

@ Chad the sign in page is still down. I want to see what you have in store for us in side. LET ME IN!! LOL
