Well both Lime Rock and MMP hold ALMS races so they might get in. Montreal is just a beautiful track so that deserves to be in there also.

I doubt they will put Camping world east series tracks in the game. Never Know though.

Since when were they only Camping World east series tracks? Have you forgotten Champcar, ALMS and F1?

I don't understand how anyone could possibly call this easy, or easier than other forms of racing. You do realise the drivers can't really turn their heads? When going for an overtake they are pretty much told by their pit crew the situation around them- car to the left on your bumper, enough room to overtake, go for it. I'm not saying it's the hardest(how could you even prove that?), but NASCAR and easy or even boring(to drive) for that matter, should never be mentioned in the same sentence.

Nope, Read that guys post, saying NASCAR races there. But only the bottom of the bottom races there. I know they all those other series race there.

I remember playing a Nascar mod in rFactor a couple years ago and i think there was 2 different versions of a Nascar car in terms of size. A long one and a short one, depending on the track.
1st question: Is this true?
2nd question: If thats true what version is showed in GT5 video, the long or the shortt one?

Not at all.

There is only one wheelbase for NASCAR cars.(110" wheelbase)

yes

Thing is, NASCAR isn't confined to the top three touring series, which was the point I was trying to make. Nowhere did I in particular say that they will(or should) add those tracks just for the Camping World Series.

So what are you saying, we could see some 1/4 mile dirt ovals.:D

This is a useless debate.

As I am sure the majority of us are. I am excited about the flood of new information. I am not surprised that NASCAR is included since it is only fitting with Daytona. I am a little suprised though that they was able to get actual NASCAR liveries. Now the only question is how will this play out. Have they managed to somehow find a way to get more than 16 cars on a track with the knowledge gained from making GT mobile? Would 16 stock cars on an oval track be enteraining enough compared to 43 in real life? Have they managed to improve the A.I. and physics enough to allow for door to door racing with a bunch of cars. Stock car racing is about racing in close quarters at nearly 200mph. In my opionion I think there are several areas that they have improved in order to even consider this endevor. However it could be mostly a marketing ploy also. On the other hand surely it will lead to more oval tracks and perhaps Watkins Glen. Also how about tunning, I know the nascar games offer lots of tuning such as tire pressure etc., so this could also bring more tuning options. Just hope that they include more than just the current cup cars. It would be really great to have some from the 60's, 70's, 80's and even 90's. Now more than ever I am also inclined to think that GT5 would have some fairly indept livery/race mod options. I do not play GTP that much anymore. However think that the formula one car is really good in all areas. So formula one, Indy, AMLS, Daytona Protypes, Lemans from all decades would certainly be amazing. I do think that GT5 will have a much stronger emphasis on race cars compared to show room cars. The reason behind this is that I do not belive that damage will be allowed on the show room cars. 👍

^ I second that.

Especially the part with 16 vs 43, and the AI. Yesterday I raced my own endurance race in GT4 in Arcade Mode in the Twin Ring Motegi Oval, using the Ford Falcon V8 Supercar. It was great, but I lost anyway. It gets really hard to win those races if there's almost no car to get a drag from. 43 would make the race closer than 16.

Student driver made a list of all the NASCAR tracks

so heres the question, which of the tracks do you want in GT?

He organized them quite well

Road courses:
Infineon Raceway
Watkins Glen

Infineon is already in GT, Watkins Glen should get in too, both layouts of it.

Superspeedways:
Daytona
Talladega

Daytona is already in, so no need for another restrictor plate type track.

Short tracks:
Bristol
Martinsville
Richmond

Just one of these would be enough for a short track fix. Of course I would say Bristol.

1-milers:
Dover
Loudon
Phoenix

I would choose Phoenix out of these 3. It's flat and every turn is different

1.5-milers:
Atlanta
Charlotte
Chicagoland
Homestead
Kansas
Las Vegas
Texas

I would choose Charlotte (Lowes Motor Speedway) out of these. Turns 1 and 2 are dramatically different from turns 3 and 4. I've raced alot of those other tracks in NR2003, and they can't compare to Lowes MotorSpeedway.

2-milers:
California
Michigan

California, despite looking like Michigan from the outside, is a one groove racetrack. Michigan is much better for two groove racing and the track is much funner to race. Hard to explain it if you haven't raced them virtually or in real. So I choose Michigan.

Misscellaneous:
Darlington
Indianapolis
Pocono

Out of these I would choose just Darlington and Indy. Pocono is nice but I can live without it.

So my list of NASCAR tracks I want in GT5 would be (Bold = already in GT)

Infineon Stock Car Course
Watkins Glen Stock Car Course
Daytona
Bristol
Phoenix
Charlotte (Lowes)
Michigan
Darlington
Indianapolis

Of that list, I prefer Pocono over Darlington. I mean, a TRIANGULAR circuit? Simply awesome.

I've raced Pocono alot in NR2003, to me the straights are too long. You're sitting there waiting forever for the straight to end. Doesn't help turns 1 and 3 are ultra wide and really dont take alot of skill (virtually) as there is plenty of room for error. The tunnel turn (turn 2) is great, but thats just one turn per 55 second lap.

Darlington is egg shaped

Speeds in Turns 1 and 2 are are much faster then in Turns 3 & 4. Not to mention you have to ride right up next to the wall at times in the middle of a corner to get the best line for the exits. And its narrow. It's far more challenging then Pocono so thats why I chose it

Yeah, but Gateway International raceway is also egg shaped and i think that it has a road course inside it. Pheonix has a road course variation that the Grand am cars race on. Thats why I'd choose Gateway and Phoenix.

Earth, I think California would be a better choice than Michigan because of California's infield circuit, which is used for the Ferrari Challenge.

Infield courses are mostly rubbish so I'd stick with Michigan. It is a better oval than California.

NASCAR Oval Tracks offer alot of bang for the buck. YOu get oval and roadcourse racing

I took the time to research just a few of the NASCAR ovals, and came back with these stunning results

I think almost every single oval has a roadcourse built inside of it

Daytona
- 2.5 mile oval
- 3.5 mile road course

Atlanta motorspeedway
- 1.5 mile oval
- 2.5 mile FIA approved road course

Lowes MotorSpeedway
- quarter mile oval
- 6/10 mile kart track
- 1/5 mile oval in infeild
- 1.5 mile oval
- 2.25 mile infield roadcourse

Indianapolis MotorSpeedway
- 2.5 mile oval
- 2.6 mile Formula 1 road course layout
- 2.6 mile MotoGP road course layout

California MotorSpeedway
- 1.4 mile Interior test circuit: 13 turns
- 2.8 mile Auto Competition course: 21 turns
- 2.3 mile Motorcycle Competition course: 21 turns,

Homestead Motorspeedway
- 1.5 mile oval
- 2.3 mile roadcourse

Las Vegas Motorspeedway
- 1.5 mile oval
- 2.5 mile roadcourse
- .5 mile dirt oval
- kart track

Texas motor speedway
- 1.5 mile oval
- 2.3 mile road course

Even though having 96 of the best tracks in the game, PD should always consider which tracks will provide the best and unique experience.

Including all NASCAR tracks will be a bit "much" but Earth's suggestion will be the best. It also includes road courses so it is a 2 things in 1 special package. 👍

I personally would rather have Atlanta than Lowes. Best track in NASCAR for multiple grooves. It's also much more bumpy than Lowes and would be much more of a challenge to drive IMO.

Yeah I forgot they repaved Lowes, it was really bumpy before that. I remember when they ran IRL cars there Eddie Cheever said keeping your foot in it when going through the bumps separated the men from the boys

I haven't virtually raced a modern version of Atlanta so I wouldn't know what type of challenge it offers.

I do know that Lowe's track design is more difficult because the exit of 4 is much tighter then Atlanta's turn 4 exit.

Also The exit of Turn 2 at Lowe's benefits cars on the high side more then Atlanta's turn 2 exit, which helps 2 groove racing.

but again i haven't raced modern versions of the track recently, so i wouldnt know what the bumps have done to atlanta, or what the new pavement has done to lowes
