Wow that was a huge hit for Gordon. Gordon is reporting that he hurt his lower back again. That's not good news.

Gordon is going to have to figure something out for his back issue. You can't expect to get better while driving, the off season is so short there is no real time for recovery. Maybe he should sit out a season? He said he was feeling great at the start of the season, then he had that hit at Dover and now this one today, it's got to be just aggravating the injury over and over again. Let Mark Martin run the 24 next season or even half the season so jeff could rest up rest up? Then put Brad Keselowski (spelling?) in the 5 car to cover martin.

Pro's-
Jeff gets time off to mend his back.
Brad gets seat time in a WINNING car.
Mark Martin keeps kickin' butt.

Con's-
Jeff is out of the 24
Brad has seat time in whats now a top 5 car that might end races with less bodywork that it started with.
Less cars in the top ten or chase for HMS?

eliot sadler is my fav and my worst is that dale jr hes only in nascar cos of his dad

They've become best buddies in the point standings!

Junior is 25th, Sadler is 26th

Keep in mind, this is Gordon's 17th or 18th season in Cup so his best years are probably behind him (unless he pulls a Mark Martin).

As time goes on, and as Gordon's back issues become more of an issue it just may force him into retiring earlier than what he wanted and it may give Keselowski the full time cup ride in the 24.

That was a terrible wreck Jeff Gordon and others took. Again, credit this new car model. Somoene could have been seriously injured or killed had this been with the older cars. No more road courses for the Cup crew. Michigan is next.

Ambrose didn't win :(

I saw your email get read out on Skysports, it didn't help Ambrose win though.:sly: But you got it read out and you weren't asking the difference between Indy Car and Nascar, so it's not all bad.

Not sure who you are reffering to, but I don't think wishing death on other people is very helpful.

But yopu have to admit that sending an e-mail to a NASCAR broadcast and asking the difference between Indy and NASCAR was pretty stupid.

That would be like me going up to me going up to ASDA and asking what the difference is between their own brand and Sainsbury's or Tescos own brand

Well, if they can't see the difference(a very big difference at that), then they are in need of a very dire eye & head examination.

Good job Vickers and Toyota and Red Bull Racing, all first wins today, well Vickers second win. I'm happy for him

Yeh, well done Vickers, dunno what the hell Mark Martins crew were thinking, thats really hurt his chase campaign.

Bad Luck for Montoya getting clipped by kahne, but a good recovery by the 42 team.

Carfax report on the #83 Vickers car - Does not perform well on wet tracks with slick tires, nor is properly equipped for wet weather races.:dopey:

lol Chris

I like what Doc Punch said on the telecast, "if your town is in a drought, call NASCAR and we'll bring the Sprint Cup cars over for a race."

Because they're too good to have a race on Friday night, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will take to the high banks of Bristol tonight. I have GREAT respect for Ron Hornaday Jr. And as much as I like him, I don't think #6 in the cards. But if he can get his sixth-straight win at a track like Bristol, that's a HELL of an accomplishment. Who do you all have winning at Bristol tonight?

Ron has been on a tear, but six in a row and it happening at Bristol is asking a lot. I'd say watch out for Newman and of course Kyle Busch.

I'm glad the race is tonight, I didn't have anything else to watch.

I guess we will see where this goes now though, they just fired 'em up.

Edit: Annnnndddd Kyle Bush does it. Crafton 2nd, Hornaday 3rd, Newman 4th.

You still have to show your respects to Ron Hornaday Jr. on a job well done during his hot streak. Rowdy Busch got it done at Bristol. And something tells me he's going to win the Nationwide race, the Sprint Cup race, or both in addition to this Trucks win...

Maybe he won't PMS the rest of the weekend now that he's finally won again.

Maybe he won't PMS

:dopey: Doubtful.

He is a very good racer but come on, you won't win them all.

I'm sure he'll get over it when he doesn't make the chase. :(

Good luck Kyle.

Actually, I've been meaning to ask - since NASCAR.com's tables only confuse me more: How well is Kyle doing, season-wise? In the chase?

Well we have the whole Nationwide race where Rowdy's attitude could change. I also do not see him being able to win the Sprint Cup race, he just has not been on par lately. Then again it's not like he's never swept a whole race weekend before, nothing it out of the realm of possibility.

Edit: Busch is in 15th right now, 779 behind the leader and 70 outside the chase, if he goes on a tear then he could make it in no problem. Season wise he has not been running very well as compared to last year. The 2009 season KB has 1 pole, 3 wins, 5 top 5's and 7 top 10's. This same time in 2008 Kyle had 2 poles, 8 wins, 15 top 5's and 15 top 10's.

That being said, he's tied with Stewart and Johnson for second most wins, behind Mark Martin with 4. His average finishes are whats holding him back. If he makes the Chase and gets back to his dominating style of last season before the Chase, anything could happen, however I just don't see that happening. He has not transferred his good showings in N-Wide or CWTS into wins in the Sprint Cup, maybe this weekend he will change it, we shall see.
