I suppose it's good we're not being blown out, but a loss is a loss for the Raptors, our record is very average, can only wonder where we'd be if Bargnani never got injured but oh well.

NBA on TNT doubleheader tonight:

* Celtics at Bulls
* Clippers at Trail Blazers (Villain vs. a6m5 grudge match)

Enjoy NBA ball!

Three f:censored:-ups in a row against the T-Wolves. 111-98 beating of my Rockets. Maybe we should have kept Rick Adelman so that his Timberwolves don't feast on us the way his offense did. Up next for Red Rising (or Red Falling) is vs. the Jazz on Sunday night.

Apparently New Orleans snapped the Knicks game winning streak, and Linsanity coughed up 9 turnovers.

One thing I must note from last night... Charlotte finally snapped their 16-something losing streak on Michael Jordan's 49th birthday. I think they won 98-91 at the Raptors (to Paulie's dislike, obviously). This is only the 4th win for the Bobcats this season.

Sorry for the fail at home to the Knicks. The Knicks must have been drawn to those tricolor uniform the Hornets were wearing (you be the judge on if they are cool or ghastly). It isn't the end of the world that Jeremy Lin didn't deliver or that the Knicks couldn't extend their winning streak. Lin is still a solid player regardless.

Hornets got new uniform? Are there any pictures of it?

Random musings...

* My Rockets beat the Jazz on Sunday (convincingly) and the Grizzlies last night. Thankfully, the Grizzlies didn't wear those ugly-ass yellow/green uniforms. We're 3rd in the Southwest Division now and now 6th in the Western Conference standings (meaning we'd play #3 Dallas if the playoffs starting today). Our last game before the All-Star Break is vs. the 76ers. Then after that, we host Toronto next Tuesday to end our home stand. Then, that is followed by a trip to Salt Lake City to meet the Jazz.

* Greg Oden is done for the season with a knee injury. Dude goes from a great Ohio State basketball player to a fragile Portland Trail Blazer. What's up with Portland and big men?

NBA TV has San Antonio at Portland as the NBA Fan Night game tonight. Be sure to enjoy that if you watch NBA TV.

Well that would surely be the end for good for Oden then.

He has a lot of heart, though. This is his 3rd surgery & they say 2 is enough to completely end a career, yet Oden says he's not retiring. I believe a report said after 4 seasons in the NBA, he had finally played 1 full length season.

If he tries to come back into the series at the beginning of next season, it'd have to be his last b/c I can't imagine a man with his issues lasting any further.

Poor Greg. I mean, does his knee just keep going out or does he just have terrible luck with contact and whatnot?

You always hate to see a dude get injured.

Huge Lakers fan here! KB24 has still got it! Any other Lakers fans here? What moves do you think they should make with the roster? I believe we need a point guard who can dish it to the big men and knock down an open jumper.

I believe he's had the same surgery on both his knees.

Nice one.👍

Real pity about Greg Oden, always hate to see a young guys career ruined by injuries, here's hoping that he get back on the court next season and be injury free.

Reports coming in yesterday that Rasheed Wallace is returning to the league & signing with the Lakers. Interesting.

That was the weakest "Slam Dunk" contest I have ever seen... and I've seen'em ALL! Best dunk was the very first one... Chase Budinger dunked over some loser celebrity.

Hit the nail on the head.

All-Star Game tonight!

It's the All-Stars of the East taking on the West All-Stars. Which NBA conference will get bragging rights this year? Best of luck to all All-Stars.

Time to make that postseason push if your team(s) is/are still in it. Get it done!

I'm impressed that the Rockets are still in position to make the playoffs. That ought to give you folks in Houston something to be happy about.

Yeah, you're just saying that so your Clippers can beat my Rockets if the playoffs started tonight, because it would be Clippers vs. Rockets in a 1st Round match. :) But yeah. We're middle of the road in my view. Today's Rockets are just a bunch of young guns. Chandler Parsons is the guy that's really impressing me the most. He even wears the number I use in a lot of racing games- 25. Samuel Dalembert(?) has been a very good player filling up the inside. While we still miss Yao Ming, "The Bear" (as we call him) is solid. Kevin Martin, Kyle Lowry, and Luis Scola are all terrific players; and they've been great this season thus far. Sometimes, Scola kind of gets cold shooting. I like how he hits those mid-range shots and long-range shots inside the arc.

I like my Rockets' chances of making the playoffs. I am more concerned with longevity about my Rockets. We're still far from the championship-caliber Rockets like the good old Clutch City years of 1994 and 1995. Of course, we had Hakeem, Mario Elie, and everybody back then. I think the Rockets just have to play hard more consistently.

Anyone else want to assess your teams before the season gets back underway?

I don't think the Raptors are going anywhere, especially with Andrea injured. It'd take one hell of a second half to the season to make any impact.

I think it's pretty safe to say, at 8-26, the Hornets aren't going anywhere.:indiff:

Although they have been playing pretty well lately.

They have played extremely well considering all of the injuries that they've had and missing our best player in Eric Gordon. We've won four of seven and gave the Bulls a run for their money. Hopefully next year we pick up some good players through the draft and free agency and maybe we could contend for a seven or eight seed, maybe.

Yeah, but we barely won. The Rockets didn't treat the Raptors like they were the Timberwolves or anything. A win is still a win regardless. Up next for my boys- at the Utah Jazz. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a bunch of crack head referees as we usually get whenever the Rockets play the Jazz, Spurs, or Lakers.
