It was pretty obviously rigged one way or another, but Kobe did hit some amazing 3's. The refs were good in the first half but rigged for LA in the 2nd half, even so Toronto headed in to the 4th with a 10pt lead and let the Lakers back in, then in a do or die situation late in the 4th 3 Toronto players just stepped aside and let Kobe dunk it which I thought was pretty suss which sent it to overtime. Fun game to watch, but also aggrovating given the clear match fixing.

It was a 94-88 win at Golden State on Friday for my Rockets, but we ended up losing 107-105 at Phoenix in the first of four meetings against the Suns last night. The Rockets are now 34-30. We're still up about two games in the Western Conference standings over the Jazz and Lakers, whom are both tied.

The Rockets will not play again until Wednesday, when we'll be hosting the Suns as part of a seven-game homestand. It will be about 2.5 weeks at home. Rockets NEED to capitalize on home cooking to maintain (and maybe improve) their standings. So all you other NBA teams enjoy pounding each others' brains in until the Rockets go back to work in the near future. :)

The Raptors also wait until American Wednesday (Aussie Thursday) to play again after beating the Cavs today, it was good to see Valanciunas doing some beast work in the post, and Amir Johnson plays like a champ these days.

Miami just keeps the wheels turning. Their winning streak is at what... 18 games now? They have a home game on Wednesday followed by a four-game road trip. Check out some of their upcoming games:

--- Miami Heat's Next 6 Games ---
* 3/12 - Atlanta
* 3/13 - at Philadelphia
* 3/15 - at Milwaukee
* 3/17 - at Toronto
* 3/18 - at Boston
* 3/20 - at Cleveland

I'll be stunned if the Heat extend their winning streak getting through that schedule. It sure as heck tough to endure a back-to-back, let alone the two coming up for the Heat. I'll call it- the Heat will lose at least one of these upcoming games. Maybe not vs. Atlanta, but I could see the Heat getting extinguished at Boston or even at Toronto (not saying that just to make Paulie happy). Heat ballin' right now. They're dominating the NBA much like Audi's been dominating sportscar racing. The only team that can beat the Miami Heat is... the Miami Heat.

Somewhat call this my 3/4 season assessment of the 2012-2013 Houston Rockets. The only thing I'm fearing right now for my Rockets is the race for the 8th Playoff spot. We're in good company right now in 7th. The Jazz have the tie-breaker against the Lakers should the Jazz and Lakers be tied. The Rockets just need to handle their business and keep winning as many games as possible. James Harden and Jeremy Lin will be our best men to carry the Rockets into postseason play. Chandler Parsons and Carlos Delfino are also great complimentary pieces as well as D-Mo (Donatas Motiejunas). I think the Rockets will make the playoffs, and I hope we make the playoffs. The Rockets can only really beat themselves in trying to maintain or better their positioning. TV coverage of the Rockets has been disappointing unless you have CSN Houston. However, I've been more than okay following the Rockets through radio.

Enjoy some NBA hoops, and even share your assessment of your team(s) so far if you so choose.

Yeah I don't think the Raptors will beat the Heat under any circumstance any time soon, maybe they could lose to Milwaukee but I can in fact see the Heat dominating all those match-ups.

NBA Fan Night is back, and tonight's NBA Fan Night Game of the Week is...

...Atlanta Hawks at Miami Heat!

So it looks like everyone wants to see if the Heat can extend their winning streak to 19 games when Atlanta comes to town. Atlanta is kind of like my Rockets, only they are even more middle-of-the-road than Houston is. Anything can happen in a basketball game. Remember how Cleveland threatened to take down Miami in Miami? Orlando even had a great chance to take down Miami. Who's to say that Miami can't possibly fall when Atlanta comes to Miami? After this game, Miami will embark on their five-game road trip that includes two back-to-backs.

Enjoy your NBA hoops this Tuesday night, and best of luck to all teams playing tonight.

39 free throws for Dwight Howard, Lakers games aren't fixed or anything....

How many did he make, ten? :P

Although considering the state the Magic is in, it's entirely possible for them to foul Howard that many times, yeah, I wouldn't mind watching the tape to that game. On the bright side, Lakers wouldn't be able to fake their way against the Heat, not that they'll make it that far.

I think he made 25 of them.

That Miami Heat... it was 98-81 in favor of Miami last night in Miami. Now, they're going for 20 straight wins starting with going to Philadelphia tonight as their five-game road trip begins. Miami's in the playoffs. My only question for them is, how long can they maintain their solid play without letting up? Can they still play hard without relaxing their guard considering they are in the playoffs? Miami goes for 20 tonight in Philadelphia as the back end of this back-to-back.

Now for my Rockets... we'll be looking for revenge as well as trying to maintain our playoff position. It begins tonight as part of a seven-game homestand as we seek revenge against the Phoenix Suns, who beat us this past Saturday in Phoenix.

Wednesday NBA 'ball night. Enjoy.

I'm gonna say same thing I said earlier in the season: Barring key injuries, they've already locked up the Championship.

Lakers was one "x-factor" going, but obviously, it didn't materialize. Heat could play .500 ball from this point on, they are still going to win. I just hope nothing happens to Bosh or Wade's health. Couple of injury susceptible 'key' players. *edit - Ray Allen, too. Forgot about him.

Now the Raptors are flat-out sucking again showing no signs of a team that could play for the play-offs next season, plus with the latest injury to Bargnani he is officially un-tradeable.

111-81. That was the beating we put on Phoenix after disappointingly losing at Phoenix this past Saturday. The Rockets are just trying to stay afloat in the Western Conference standings. Good news for the Rockets was that the Hawks took down the Los Angeles Lakers in Atlanta(?).

NBA on TNT- Thursday 'ball night with only two games on the card tonight! Tonight, it's a battle for Texas as the Dallas Mavericks will head down to San Antonio to meet the San Antonio Spurs. The other match involves the New York Knicks playing the only remaining Pacific Northwest team in the NBA- the Portland Trailblazers. Dallas is trying to help their playoff cause by trying not to get swamped by the black and silver. As a Rockets fan, I hope they both lose, but that's not possible.

That's all. Enjoy tonight's games.

I think it's safe to say the Bulls are gonna be out of the playoffs after round 1. And I think it's also safe to say Rose is not coming back and it's too late anyway to change this around.

I just saw on "Pardon the Interruption" that Chicago lost by 42 (121-79 was the score) at Sacramento last night. Michael Wilbon was saying that Chicago is just running on empty. Ouch.

They simply are. I know Thibs plays the Bulls hard, but what choice does he have with injuries derailing this team for the second straight season? I honestly think our athletic trainers need to get fired or something. I think Charles Barkley brought that up.

I won't blame Rose if he chooses not to return.

We've seen what can happen when you rush back from injuries. Who knows, maybe Rose will never be fully healthy. Either way, taking Miami Heat into account, I don't see a point in rushing Rose either.

If Bulls are going to throw in the towel, I wouldn't ride the rest of the starters too hard either. No use in wearing out your assets, then go lower in the draft for some empty moral victory.

Edit:

I've hated Raymond Felton's game for years. No talent XXX clown. Then the Blazers acquired him for the last season. Interim GM Chad Buchanan liked him, brought him in. I like Chad, but I thought he was retarded.

So he came, but to my pleasant surprise, he sucked so bad in Portland, he pretty much guaranteed the exit from the Rip City(Portland nickname) in no time.

Then he made the comment that he might drop 50 on the Blazers if he didn't resign with the Blazers. He came back for the first time tonight.

Damien Lillard - 26 points(11-18) & 10 assists

Big Mac Failton(Raymond) - 11 points(4-12) & 3 assists

I just love this guy. I was offered tickets for this game. I don't go to NBA games anymore, but I kinda wish I could have seen him perform tonight. :lol: I guess he refused to talk to the media pregame, claiming that he will talk to them post game. My local sports news said that he wouldn't come out to talk to them after the game. :lol:

They should probably do that, but seeing as how the past two seasons went, I think this team is too proud to just quit trying. Especially with a coach as intense as we have.

But it just seems as though the Bulls are putting on their best Bears' impersonation of a late season collapse.

17 games left, only 3 1/2 games above playoff oblivion, and with the sub .500 record since All-Star break, It's possible that the Bulls maybe watching the playoffs from their couches. They are gonna have to play like men on a mission if they want to make an appearance in round 1. Anything after is just extra gravy.

As for Felton's cheeseburger mug, let him talk. People residing in NYC are known for that.:dopey:

After being down 57-39, the Houston Rockets used the 2nd Half to go into Beast Mode and slap around the Minnesota Timberwolves with a 108-100. This is the 9th time in team history we were down by 20 or more to come back to win. It was a 37-point effort for James Harden, and Jeremy Lin accounted for 24 points. Up next for Houston... home vs. Golden State on Sunday (St. Patrick's Day, of course). I hope luck is on our side with a dangerous team like Golden State.

Here are some other scores...

* Toronto feasted on the Bobcats with a 92-78 victory at home. The Raptors must be higher up the food chain than the Bobcats.

* The Washington Wizards had enough tricks and spells to tame the New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans 96-87 in Washington, D.C.

* What seemed impossible WAS possible. The Lakers beat the Pacers in Indianapolis 99-93. Many thought the Lakers would fail in Indy.

* The Phoenix Suns are a terrible road team, and it showed in Atlanta as the Hawks defended home turf like bosses. It was 107-94 in Atlanta as the Hawks got it done.

* Oklahoma City had no problem stomping Orlando in Oklahoma City. OKC knocked out Orlando 117-104.

Congratulations to all other winners of other games, including:
* MIA at MIL
* CLE at DAL
* MEM at DEN
* CHI at GS

The Heat are sure to extend their win streak against the Raptors tomorrow, should be a good game blow-out. Unless Toronto can dominate the paint with JV and Johnson and Lebron has an out of character bad night and Wade decides he isn't "feeling it".

I hate to say this, but I think the Heat are going to pass my Rockets' 22-game streak with this mad streak the Heat are on. Most telling of this streak is that this is the longest streak by a defending champion in NBA history. Great run by Miami so far.

Tonight is big for my Rockets. We're hosting Golden State. A win could be huge if we are in some tie-breaker situation for the playoffs.

Enjoy some St. Patrick's Day hoops, and best of luck to all teams playing today or tonight.

It was a s:censored:ty Rockets performance tonight. A chance to pull to 6th in the West with a win was slammed in our faces and denied. We were down 54-31 at the half. We ended up losing 108-78 (new scoring low for Houston) at home. I know you're bound to lose at some point and that you can't win them all. You're going to lose basketball games. It just sucks we lost this bad. The Rockets brought the spread to about five until Golden State just pulled away. Maybe that three-point feasting frenzy woke up Golden State and decided to get revenge on us on St. Patrick's Day. And ironically enough, luck was not on our side. We'll fall to 36-31 but will win the season series 3-1 over Golden State. Our next game isn't until Wednesday when Utah comes to town. Maybe we'll play much better against Utah than this bulls:censored: performance we put out tonight. Rockets are much f:censored:ing better than this s:censored:.

Congrats to all other winners, including Miami extending its winning streak to 22 straight with a win at Toronto.

The Heat just dominated the 4th quarter after the Raptors tied it up at 77 after a huge run. Lowry was a complete non-factor, 3 assists is all he could be credited for, and DeRozan was rather average as well despite a strong 3rd quarter. There are definitely pieces missing with this team right now for them to be a legit play-off team, personally I hope they trade Andersen for a seasoned veteran and pick up some solid free agents.

I think the Raptors brought it to within 3-5 points (I think three) as the 4th Quarter started. Afterwards, Miami just floored the gas pedal and motored away to the win. Will the streak be surpassed tonight for 2nd Place all-time when Miami heads to Boston? We shall see tonight!

Best of luck to all other teams playing tonight.

Miami is just seemingly running away with it.

And as a Bulls fan, it really burns. It maybe heresy to say this to fellow Chicagoans, but that 72-10 maybe threatened soon...

Yep. 23 and counting for El Heat. Let me congratulate the 2012-2013 Miami Heat out of being a good sport- congratulations on this winning streak. Now trying to chase down that Lakers team for 33-straight wins after this victory in Boston tonight.

Again- the only team that can beat the Miami Heat is... the Miami Heat. They can only beat themselves not only for maybe chasing down history, but also to win the NBA Championship for this season.

The college basketball season may be entering March Madness, but there is some NBA madness abound. The NBA Fan Night Game of the Week is...

...Denver Nuggets at Oklahoma City Thunder!

NBA fans want to see if the Nuggets can extend their winning streak to 13. To do that, however, they have to beat OKC at OKC. NOT easy, and especially on the tail of a back-to-back.

Enjoy some hoops tonight.
