I guess this week on NBA TV, a lot of vintage Chicago Bulls highlights are shown. That would surely make our sumbrownkid happy. The channel is currently showing Chicago at Detroit in Game 3 of the 1991 NBA Playoffs. Good old days of Jordan, John Paxson, and people like that.

They may never show any of their highlights, but I'd surely enjoy watching some old Houston Rockets highlights. Like the Clutch City days. Maybe back when both T-Mac and Yao were both healthy. Perhaps go WAY back to the days of Ralph Sampson and Elvin Hayes.

Guess Iverson saw that nobody outside of a D-League team was interested in signing him, so he's officially hanging up his jersey even though that ship sailed already.

Iverson was/is my fave player of all time .

The detroit trade really ended his career , his ego was his biggest problem tho .

Is that LeBron's uncle? :P

I'll remember Iverson as one of the greatest scorer ever to play the game. Also, one serious dummy in real life.

True that, isn't he bankrupt apparently?
Wouldn't surprise me. However, few years ago, I heard from somewhere that his agent or someone locked up some of Iverson's money, so the star won't go completely broke down the line. I'd like to pat that guy's back.

Do you think Allen Iverson might come back as maybe a coach or work with some team in management or coaching? Or do you think maybe AI will leave basketball for good?

He was a pure scorer and a bot of a head case, I doubt he'd make a good coach. Player scout maybe.

I got to see him play in person once, he was amazing. I honestly don't care much what happens to him now. He made the bed, now he'll sleep in it. I'd be shocked if he achieved success in any front office, or coaching positions.

As much as Iverson's basketball IQ might still be one of the best & that Guards do typically go on to do very well as head coaches, it's his personality I can't see clicking as someone who has to direct other players.

Once he left his position as one of the absolute best & went downwards, his chemistry with people in his own organizations went as well.

If he does anything more than sign autographs, I will be amazed.

THIS JUST IN...

Tracy McGrady is now officially retired from the NBA. We know Allen Iverson retired. Now another long-timer retires. I'll (of course) remember him for his valuable service for my Houston Rockets. I'll even know him for that T-Mac and Yao combination. Many others, however, will remember him as not being able to take his team to the 2nd Round of the playoffs. He retires at age 34.

How will you remember T-Mac?

Not all that surprising since I figured he would retire either way at the end of last year's finals; last second chance at a ring.

He will definitely be remembered for his 1-on-1 plays. I think he's the one player Kobe Bryant described as the hardest player for him to guard. I know Kobe can be overrated, but that's got to mean something for T-Mac when Kobe gives you that kind of props.

You know, I just remembered that one game with the Rockets where he just went on a scoring surge by himself to push the Rockets past the San Antonio Spurs in one game. Oh... I did a search on YouTube- T-Mac scored 13 points in 33 seconds on December 9, 2004. It was San Antonio at Houston that night. If you have about 7:18.000 of time to spare, here is a video showcasing T-Mac's wicked scoring frenzy:

I surely remember a lot of times where Tracy McGrady would be the Rockets' hero in clutch times. I think T-Mac may ultimately wind up a Hall of Famer. Maybe he'll be inducted along with Allen Iverson. That's if you think T-Mac and/or AI are Hall of Fame material.

AI FO SHO, don't now much about McGrady. I do feel bad about his career getting cut short. Always came across as a classy character, and serious offensive threat on the court. Wasn't he Air Canada's cousin?

Way to take a shot at him, Omnis. Very funny, but way to go! :dopey:

I'll remember T-Mac for leaving Toronto when he and cousin Vince could have made the Raptors a perennial power house but it never happened.
