So.......now comes two months of essential boredom before the pre-season games kick off. Australian fans can catch a small bit of FIBA action as Australia takes on NZ, highlights for the first game on August 14th are on ABC then it sounds like the full game 2 on ABC on Sunday the 18th.

I doubt Greg Oden is going to be getting serious minutes, especially with his injury history.

I don't think this really changes the power balance in the ECF. However weird things have happened before.

But I like Jimmy Butler's stance on the matter: We can't let the Heat repeat.

I'm sure the rest of NBA is getting tired of that pomp party in Cryami (fanboy mode activate!).

He'll probably be used against teams with two bigs like Memphis etc.

Field is getting tougher so you never know who may take it all this year :P

The Bulls vs Heat season opener.

Would be really fun to crash their party. Last time these two teams met for a season opener Miami was collecting their first ring and the Bulls demolished them all the way til Sunday. Hope history repeats.

The Bulls vs Nets Christmas game should be an interesting one as well.

I'll be excited to watch the Raptors play any teams with an exciting/intrigueing new lineup like the Pistons, Jazz, Cavs or Hornets. I'm also eagerly awaiting the first time the Heat play Oden but who knows how long that will be. So in short I'm not looking forward to any one game in particular.

Blazers picked up the player I loved picking on: Mo-verrated Williams.

I thought Cleveland was stupid for counting on the guy, also Clippers. He'd be right at home here in Portland though(ie we suck). Got him cheap, hopefully he can still shoot(during a regular season lol), I guess we could use the veteran depth!

You just got CJ McCollum! If it makes you feel better the same thing happened to me with Tyler Hansborough, the player I love to pick on signing with my team.

If you watch NBA TV through the day, they usually show some of those NBA Hardwood Classics. It is always so entertaining watching some old school NBA basketball. Even including the good old short shorts NBA players wore back then. That also includes some of the old arenas like (where the L.A. Lakers used to play before Staples Center), and stuff like that. Last week, they basically had a lot of Boston Celtics highlights. It seems like they are doing a lot of classic Los Angeles Lakers moments this week. These old highlights are great to tide you over until the 2013-2014 season starts proper.

Apparently Pekovic got resigned by the wolves, solid move by that organisation 👍

Wouldn't be surprised if the T-Wolves sneak into the playoffs this season. Really like the signing of Kevin Martin for them. 👍

The 76'ers have also made ex Boomers coach/Spurs assistant (Boomers just beat the Tall Blacks in game 1 for the FIBA Oceania series which is to qualify for the World Cup) Brett Brown their new head coach too. Good for him.

I absolutely hate these already.

Add me to the "I'm not digging those new Phoenix Suns uniforms" crowd. We'll probably get used to them, but I'm not liking these one iota. FAIL!!!

Basketball jerseys can't have sleeves. Wtf, they look like soccer players in capri pants.

Did they not learn their lesson watching the Warriors last season?

Doesn't matter, it's all Adidas's choice. No one has a say but them and their designers. I heard The Christmas jerseys will be sleeved too.. So might as well add every other team to that list.

Ugh. Sounds like just a way for Adidas to easily market these out to fans who know you can't exactly go out & wear basketball jerseys in public on non-game days.

I couldn't shoot with sleeves. I also agree with you guys on the looks. Also with Mac on the Warriors jersey shirt thing. UGLY.

I just saw some pictures of the Suns jerseys with sleeves. They are not completely awful, but they are not exactly good either. For the sleeves to somewhat work, the jerseys need a bit more color contract, as opposed to the near solid orange. Breaking up the orange would help, but I am not sure a sleeved jersey is salvageable.

I wear regular jerseys in public all the time, it's not uncommon even in Australia. Sleeved jerseys are just stupid, they're actually called T-Shirts.

I can't believe I'm saying this,
But I think It would look good in black...

Well they aren't all bad. Actually, I think the purple looks really nice (one of my favorites that I've seen from anyone in a long time), and the white ones are okay.

The orange is just awful, which is funny to me. I feel like they got the purple one so right, just to get the sleeved orange jersey so wrong.

They are reluctant but eventually we might see ads/sponsors on the jerseys

Yeah, I'm beginning to think that's a "when" not "if" situattion. :indiff:

It already happens in Soccer and the WNBA. It just seems inevitable for the NBA and the NHL. I do think that the NFL and MLB can avoid it, though.
