Well yeah, I mean its Canada :dopey:.
Portland's bad, if not worse. When he was a semi-big ticket free agent, Turkoglu committed to sign with Portland. He then backed out, signed with Toronto. God, we are such losers(though we sort of lucked out, because he proceeded to suck rest of his career). :dopey:

We picked up F Ronnie Brewer. I am not sure about how long and for how much, but I think this is a pretty good pickup for the Rockets.

Two posts from you in the NBA thread. A historical day. :lol:

Frank Vogel says bulkier Roy Hibbert looks to be physical presence.

I hope he didn't get too big. Shaq bulldozing defenders out of the way(and not getting called for fouls) is one thing, but knee injury is inevitable for big men, and added weight is almost always a strike one until they are out. It doesn't help with the mobility either. I hope he wasn't working out just to get bigger.

Caron Butler is already being traded to Milwaukee.
He hasn't even played a game yet for my suns. :lol:

It's a bit of an odd trade since it doesn't really do much to serve either team.

R1600Turbo posted in the wrong thread. I've posted in the wrong thread times ago, including one time not too long ago. I've been there in my going on ten years on GTPlanet. It happens.

Besides wondering how my Rockets will do, part of me is a bit curious as to how Golden State will do. You talk about the weight of the world on your shoulders, lot of weight will be on the shoulders of the likes of Steph Curry and his Golden State Warriors. Golden State is no sorry team or a bunch of overrated losers. I am not sure where I'd put Golden State over the likes of Houston, Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Denver, or maybe even the Los Angeles Clippers. OKC and San Antonio would easily top the power rankings among Western Conference teams. Golden State is going to be a team to watch in the West.

Bahahaha this is funny. It would seem Raptors centre Jonas Valanciunas has been learning Kung Fu defence during this off-season and tested it in international play.

Wow :lol:

In the meantime the Suns released Beasley a few days ago, he's taking his chances for granted.

It's surprising how many NBA players are violating the law lately, but the Suns made the right move in ridding themselves of Beasley. I'll be surprised if he picks up another team, he doesn't really fit anywhere in the NBA. Perhaps he should consider Europe, the NBL or the D-League.

The only place he fits in is NBA 2K10, not even 2K14.

Will it affect his guarantee of the Knicks winning the 2014 Title?, that's all I wanna know(he was smoking it when he made the claim).

There are rumors flying around of the Heat picking up Beasley, and they replied in the best way ever.
"Absolutely nothing. Not true. No."
I would like to see someone like Popovich and the spurs whip Beas into shape. Dude needs it.

:lol:

What about J.R Smith? Apparently got suspended for 5 NBA games with something to do with ganja yet again, players gotta stop touching this stuff haha.

He can do the grown up thing and quit. I know weed is fun and all, but having a career is something one shouldn't play with.

I happy boy. NBA TV is showing some old-school Houston Rockets action! Like they are showing highlights of the 1994 NBA Finals Game 7 right now. Us Rockets fans know who won the 1993-1994 season championship... ;) I can only hope my Rockets can eventually win their 3rd NBA championship. Maybe more. Then again, that's my "fanboyism" showing. Don't act like you don't have some "fanboy/fangirl" in you as well.

The following have made the 2013 Basketball Hall of Fame:

* Bernard King

* Rick Pitino
* Jerry Tarkanian
* Guy V. Lewis (makes me proud as a University of Houston fan)
* Sylvia Hatchell
* Russ Granik
* Dr. E.B. Henderson

I think I am going to make this blog post the season thread for the 2013-2014 season. Still, there is still plenty to discuss heading into the upcoming season. The Preseason starts around October 5th. So we are less than a month away from NBA opening up shop for the new season.

I think I read from ESPN's Bottom Line that Jason Kidd's jersey will be retired by the Nets on October 17 when the Brooklyn Nets play against the Miami Heat in a Preseason game. Jason Kidd should be in somebody's Hall of Fame if he isn't already in one.

I read that. Like Oden signing, it makes sense. They are loaded, no cap room, and they have nothing to lose. If either of those guys come close to their potential, everything to gain........... biiiiig "if".

I like the Greg Oden signing more. Oden's problem has been injuries. He has shown some more than capable performances. Unfortunately for Oden, his body has not allowed him to play at the level he has shown he can play at.

Beasley on the other hand enjoys smoking weed a bit too much. Basketball does not seem to be his focus. He has skated by on pure talent for too long and does not understand that it takes some effort to be a very good player in the NBA. Unless his outlook on being a professional changes, he is not worth the money. Fortunately, from the Heat's perspective, if the guy shows no signs of working towards improving, then they can cut their losses on the cheap since the contract is not guaranteed.
