To me, Golden State can only beat themselves at this point, and this team doesn't do that very often. So heck yes I see Golden State getting the win.

Last season SC reminded me of allan iverson's free 3-pt shooter style with the sixers'. That was what, 11 years back? Around the time Carter was doing his thing with Toronto as well. Nobody could guard them. Specially AI. He was ridiculous.

A 34pt victory over the Lakers gives Golden State the NBA record for best unbeaten start to a season at 16-0. No telling how long it will last now.

Yeah that was embarrassing to watch and I'm not even a Laker fan. Kobe needs to have some respect for the game (and the team) and quit now. That guy just doesn't know when to call it a day.

Back to work for the 2015 Houston Rockets. And also... back to failing. Our latest loss at 102-93 on Wednesday night has us stuck on 5 wins. Only five wins, and now 10 losses (and three straight losses). Guess who our next opponent is? Right- the 0-16 Philadelphia 76ers here in Houston. Hell, the way Houston's playing, and considering we already lost to a previously winless Brooklyn Nets, the Sixers may well get their first win against my sorry 2015-2016 Rockets. If that happens, we should hold a fire sale of our talent and hope talent that want to WIN for my Rockets instead of players wanting to f:censored: up like it ain't s:censored:. But if we win that game on Friday, praise the Lord. This curse on the Rockets has to be lifted.

Congratulations to Wednesday's other winners.

Crappy season, and it would reach its lowest points if the Rockets lost to the 0-16 Philadelphia 76ers. Fear not. The Houston Rockets won 116-114 at home against the Philadelphia 76ers. So they avoid being the Sixers' first victim of the 2015-2016 season. As for the poor Sixers, they are now 0-17 on the season. This 2015 Rockets team is bad, but they shown they aren't pathetic by making sure not to fall to the winless 76ers.

We'll probably lose one or both of the next two games: at the New York Knicks and at the Detroit Pistons.

Congratulations to the other winners from Friday.

I don't know if I'd be proud or upset with that score if I were a Houston fan.

Well, I am more along the mindset of "a win is a win." Anything to get this team to look for more ways to win is fine with me. People even on Facebook were mostly talking about how James Harden (and I forgot to mention this) accounted for 50 of the Rockets' points to help win the game. The margin of victory was two points despite this 50-point effort by Harden, but a win is a win. Also, if everybody else isn't doing enough to contribute to a win, then somebody has to step up. I'd only be upset with the win if it was GIVEN to us rather than earning it on the floor. You know, as if the Sixers were disqualified or forfeited.

This is all, at least, my view. And as we say, to each his/her own.

Based on how upset Philly fans are, I'm sure some would argue it was. Philly has some talent, but they make so many questionable "changes" going into the 4th quarters.

Did Steph Curry really just score 41pts in only 30mins of action? He didn't even play the 4th quarter. Witness greatness people!

Crazy. Curry is just playing on completely different level to everyone else at the moment.

Although probably anticipated, it's official now: Kobe Bryant has announced that he will be retiring at the end of the 2015-2016 NBA Season.

It was great to see the legend play one last time here in Dallas.

The Rockets have to take their rock show on the road to show how awesome we are (or think we are). So the Rockets paid a visit to Madison Square Garden to hook up against the Knicks. We ended up winning 116-111, but 48 minutes and four quarters weren't enough. This was an Overtime victory for Red Nation. The hero was Marcus Thornton off the bench. A return to .500 would be nice for the Rockets after such a lethargic start, but getting another win is always nice. The next game for the Rockets is at the Detroit Pistons on Monday. So we're going from the bright lights of New York City to the mean streets of Detroit. We will host Stavingo's New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday after the Detroit match.

Congratulations to Sunday's other winners.

[UPDATE] The Rockets play at Detroit on Monday. Changes made.

I goofed. The Rockets played tonight against Detroit, when I thought we'd take on Detroit on Tuesday. I made the changes to my previous post.

It was 116-105 as the Houston Rockets lost at Detroit. The only time I checked into this game, we were down something like 86-73 or something like that heading into the 4th Quarter. It's another loss for Red Nation to go to 7-11 on the season. And just like 7 or 11, we're playing like crap. Up next is home against the Pelicans on Wednesday. Then after that, it's up the highway to play at McLaren's Dallas Mavericks this Friday.

Congratulations to Monday's other winners, including the Atlanta Hawks defending home turf against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Should trade Harden while he still has any value. 29 points, 6/15 from the field. 15/17 from FT. Worst "MVP" to even be considered. The minute the refs stop allowing him to shoot free throws, he's about as good as anyone else on the team besides Howard.

NBA TV is ready to show two games for tonight among the six for tonight. Be sure to tune in to check out these games:

* WAS Wizards at CLE Cavaliers
* DAL Mavericks at POR Trail Blazers

So you get to see the Cavs welcome the Wizards, and you also will see what McLaren's Dallas Mavericks can do in the Pacific Northwest at the Trail Blazers. Elsewhere... DCybertron's Phoenix Suns will hook up against the Nets in Brooklyn. The soon-to-retire Kobe Bryant will take his Los Angeles Lakers in a road game at the Philadelphia 76ers. Of course, Kobe is a Philly native. The other two games tonight are Orlando at Minnesota and Memphis at New Orleans.

Enjoy some hoops on this new month of NBA basketball.

If the Golden State Warriors win tonight at the Charlotte Hornets, they will tie the 1884 St. Louis Maroons for the best win streak to start a season among the four major pro sports. If Golden State beats Charlotte tonight followed by winning at the Toronto Raptors this Saturday, they will be all alone with the best start to a season. Golden State right now is just a runaway train just bowling over everybody that comes in contact with them.

Go enjoy some hoops tonight, and good luck to all of your teams.

[UPDATES] 1884, not 1886.

The NBA suspended PHI's J. Okafor for two games from a recent fighting incident.

My Houston Rockets welcomed some birds from New Orleans to play a basketball game. Little did I know that the New Orleans Pelicans have only four wins on the season. I didn't notice that until I saw a little piece on CBS Sports Network show "Time to Schein." Anyhow, the Pelicans had four wins... and are stuck on four wins because we beat the Pellies 108-101 here in Houston. That's eight wins for the Rockets now. Next game for the Rockets is a trip up north to meet the Dallas Mavericks this Friday. Yep. We'll try to entertain McLaren's Dallas Mavericks up in Big D.

Congratulations to all other winners from Wednesday, including Golden State still mowing down opposition to go to 20-0 on the season. By the way... was that video of DeAndre Jordan bricking free throws a promo for the Shaq Academy of Free Throw Shooting? ;)

Phoenix was beating Detroit by 16 points late in the 4th quarter.

They then proceeded to choke their way to an overtime loss.
2nd night in a row, too.

Hooray! With Valanciunas out injured Coach Casey finally turned to Lucas Noguiera against the Hawks today (he got 4mins in the last game and that was all of his playing time this season until now). I've been an advocate for this guy having untapped potential and today he delivered! He only came in with 2mins left in the first half, then proceeded to play the entire 14mins to end the game. In that time he played great D (aside from a few rusty mistakes) including a big block, grabbed some big boards and finished two alley-oop dunks. All in a late rally to win a close game.

This Thursday night will be quite busy with six games on the card. Are you ready for these matches:

* OKC Thunder at MIA Heat (NBA on TNT)
* DEN Nuggets at TOR Raptors
* ORL Magic at UTA Jazz
* SA Spurs at MEM Grizzlies (NBA on TNT)
* IND Pacers at POR Trail Blazers
* BOS Celtics vs. SAC Kings (game played in Mexico City, Mexico)

Enjoy some NBA hoops on this first Thursday of December 2015.

[UPDATE] BOS vs. SAC played in Mexico City.

It was 100-96 in Dallas as the Houston Rockets went up to Big D and got the win. We led 57-53 at the half. James Harden went silver scoring 25 points to lead all Rockets scorers, and he also accounted for the most assists for a Rockets player in this game with nine assists. Trevor Ariza had 18 points, and Patrick Beverley had 17. Dirk Nowitzki had a double-double: 16 points and 10 rebounds. Former Rocket Chandler Parsons got nine points for Dallas. But in the end, it was Rockets Red that won this one. Rockets Red... even though they wore those gray outfits tonight. Anyhow, we're on a back-to-back, and so up next will be back home to host the Sacramento Kings tomorrow night.

Congratulations to all other winners from Friday. Tomorrow night, the Golden State Warriors can go 21-0 if they can win at Paulie's Toronto Raptors.

Really surprising to see the East so much deeper than the West thus far, though the West is more top heavy with the two best records in the league.
The Knicks are 11th in the East with a 0.500 record, Utah is 7th in the West with a 0.471 record. One would figure Houston, currently 8th, will push up the board sooner or later though.

Congratulations to all other winners from Friday. Tomorrow night, the Golden State Warriors can go 21-0 if they can win at Paulie's Toronto Raptors.

"If" or "when"?

The Houston Rockets' front end of our latest back-to-back was victorious at Dallas, and so was the back end as we defeated the Sacramento Kings here in Houston 120-113. James Harden accounted for 31 points while Dwight Howard cashed in 22 points. MAYBE the Rockets seemed to have turned things around. Still a lot of work to be done and still a lot of season left.

Congratulations to Saturday's other winners, including Golden State improving to 21-0 by beating the Toronto Raptors 112-109 in Toronto (sorry, Paulie...).

My Rockets don't play again until Tuesday. So what I'll do for this post is share some standings now that the season is give-or-take 25% complete. Where do your team(s) stand? Standings as they are heading into tonight's games:

--- EASTERN CONFERENCE ---
ATLANTIC: Toronto (12-9), BOS (11-9), NY (10-11), BKN (5-15), PHI (1-20)
CENTRAL: Cleveland (13-7), CHI (11-6), IND (12-7), DET (12-9), MIL (8-13)
SOUTHEAST: Miami (12-6), ATL (13-9), CHA (11-8), ORL (11-9), WAS (8-10)

TOP 8 EAST: Miami, CLE, CHI, IND, ATL, CHA, TOR, DET
IF PLAYOFFS BEGAN TODAY: MIA vs. DET, CLE vs. TOR, CHI vs. CHA, and IND vs. ATL

--- WESTERN CONFERENCE ---
NORTHWEST: Oklahoma City (12-8), UTA (9-9), POR (9-12), MIN (8-11), DEN (8-13)
PACIFIC: Golden State (22-0), LAC (11-9), PHX (8-13), SAC (7-15), LAL (3-17)
SOUTHWEST: San Antonio (17-4), MEM (12-9), DAL (12-9), HOU (10-11), NO (5-15)

TOP 8 WEST: Golden State, SA, OKC, MEM, DAL, LAC, UTA, HOU
IF PLAYOFFS BEGAN TODAY: GS vs. HOU, SA vs. UTA, OKC vs. LAC, MEM vs. DAL

And there you have it. There is still a lot of season left. Nobody's been eliminated from postseason contention or anything. Losing teams still can improve. Winning teams have to try to remain in solid form. Based on these standings, are there any surprises to you? Any teams you think are underrated?

Again- lots of season left. So things can greatly change. Good luck to all of your teams moving forward.

Tuesday night in the NBA. The Fan Night Game of the Week this time is...

...Golden State Warriors at Indiana Pacers!

Tonight, fans want to see if the Warriors can extend their amazing season start when they head out to Indianapolis to meet the Pacers.

I found out my Houston Rockets (10-11) will be on a back-to-back starting at Brooklyn Nets (5-15) tonight followed by at the Washington Wizards (9-10) tomorrow night. Who and where your opposition plays tonight or tomorrow night, go enjoy some NBA hoops.

[UPDATE] GS at IND is the Fan Night game. UTA at SAC is also on NBA TV.
