No way man. Maker is Kevin Durant Jr. What's the point of going to college when you're not going to stay there to get a degree? If he can enter the draft, he might as well become a millionaire sooner rather than later. It's working out for Giannis.

I think he's more like Garnett than Durant, and I'd love it if he became a superstar and realised his potential (imagine that Aussie team!). I also wonder if his family in Sudan might be a big factor in wanting to earn money as fast as possible.

Of course that's a big factor. Honestly, what does he have to gain from college? He could be a millionaire and work on his degree for a fraction of a percent of that. And he could help so many people in the mean time, just like Manute Bol did. He needs to start a fund though and not just give away all of his money like Bol.

People say he's KG 2 only because he's charcoal black. I don't think he's as good a defender and post player as KG was. Really, his body and athleticism resembles Durant almost exactly. The only thing is Durant has always had sick handles and Maker's dribbling skills pale in comparison.

#theprocess is finally over, as Sixers GM Sam Hinkie resigned today. His 13 page resignation letter is certainly... interesting..

The only reason I see him as more of a Garnett type is because Durant has always been a wing player to me, and I can only see Maker as a power forward or centre. I wasn't really around when Garnett was a rookie but I've heard entering the draft they were impressed with a big man who could handle the ball, move with speed and compete, which is also how I see Maker. He may not have guard-like handles, though from what I've seen he has very good handles for a 7-footer.

Warriors win tonight & add the final asterisk to their 73-9 dream record.

Vince Carter gets tackled by Dray-I-Get-Away-With-Anything Green & Lance Stephenson gets fouled twice in the final seconds. Warriors are a team that belong next to the 2007-08 Patriots.

So the Warriors need only win their last game of the season to make history eh?

I know I have been trying to hype up the NHL Playoffs, but not to be outdone is Kobe Bryant's final game and the Golden State Warriors going for 73 as they host the Memphis Grizzlies. Oh, and the battle between Houston and Utah for the final seed in the West [where they will likely getting run over by Golden State in the Playoffs].

Enjoy this night of NBA action.

One of the best nights i've witnessed in the NBA. The record for the greatest regular season in NBA history and the last game of one of the greatest players of all time... In the same night!

It's 12 secs left in the Laker game and boy, what a game Kobe's had. I'm glad the missus respected my TV time tonight .

Thanks Kobe for everything 👍

Get over it. The Warriors are the best team in NBA history and they did 90% of the season with their stars sitting in the 4th. It's hard to beat a team with a guy that puts up 400 threes in 3 quarters.

The pressure is on for them to bring home the bacon, though. The playoffs this year are going to be a riot. This is one of the best seasons in NBA history.

I'm gonna miss hating Kobe. Now whenever I see a Laker game, all I'll be able to feel is pity, knowing they're in a pretty bad situation.

And congrats to the Warriors for 73 wins... But in the words of Scottie Pippen, "it don't mean a thing without the ring."

Also, someone said Adam Morrison was at Kobe's celebration. Who brought that scrub out?

This team has 1 more win than the '96 Bulls' season, and they're best team in NBA history? The Bulls didn't let the worst teams make them look silly & the largest margin of loss was 12 points against an Ewing-led Knicks. Michael also wasn't letting a bench player take the Finals MVP award, either.

The sheer fact Kobe's final night is the current trending topic shows how much anyone outside of Golden State actually cares that record was broken now. Let Curry have more than 2 good seasons & 1 'ring before we start calling his team the best in history. He has a LONG way to go match what Jordan did to make the Bulls the bar for everyone else.

Err, one of that Bulls' 10 losses was to the expansion Raptors team in their very first season?
Warriors are the single season best team in history, subjective assessments are irrelevant in this specific scenario I feel, as they hold the record. 73>72. Let the record show you've got to have a big, lumbering, 7-footer from Australia on your team if you want to be the best. (Longley, Bogut).

Man that 60pt game of Kobe shows that even if he's now playing his last game, he still got it. Thanks Kobe for playing 20 seasons.

By the way, when Kobe passed the ball to Jordan Clarkson during the last seconds of the game, was it a sign of passing of the torch?

*Now I need to play NBA Live games from '98-07 and NBA Ballers to stop crying about Kobe's retirement.

By 1 point.

Meanwhile, the Warriors let a 13-51 Lakers beat them by nearly 20 & before that, got destroyed by 32 points by the Trailblazers who were left with Lillard after last season.

They're not. The record is just a number in comparison to the Bulls' right now. The accolades those Bulls got was the GOAT. 2 players in All-NBA 1st team and 3 players in All-NBA Defensive 1st team, alongside MVP, 6th Man, & Coach of the Year.

If they don't win a championship, they're not even top 5. As said, no one even cares they did it right now; Kobe took the spotlight for himself the final time in his career.

Exactly!👍 To be totally fair, you'd have to throw Steve Kerr in there somewhere as well. :dopey:

And on the subject of Aussie big men, Thon Maker has been giving clearance to enter the draft.

While I agree that not winning the championship would put a big dent on their historical standing, I think we can agree to disagree on which team is better.

If the Bulls had to play the Warriors with today's rules, the Bulls would get destroyed. If they played in the Bulls era, the Warriors would get destroyed.

Honestly, the Warriors are successful just because they played like a video game where the shot sliders were maxed. But their off ball movement is the best there's been in a long time. It is outstanding. Defenses are just not smart and reflexive enough to guard it for the whole shot clock. Someone always screws up, and then he gets exploited.

You clearly haven't watched any basketball before 2000. The '96 Bulls would absolutely smash this team; there isn't a player on the Warriors that would stop Jordan and Curry/Thompson wouldn't stand a chance against Pippen. Rodman alone under the basket would give Draymond too many problems.

Jordan and Pippen were on the 1st NBA Team and 1st Defense with Rodman. No one on the Warriors comes close to their impact.

Please, try not to out do the silliness of your last 2 posts.

The regular season is over. Only 16 teams can play to hoist the Larry O'Brien Trophy. Sixteen of the best (or luckiest) teams will compete for championship glory now. The other 14 that didn't make it will have to settle for next season to try to get into the postseason. Here are your matches:

! = division champion
!! = home court advantage

--- EASTERN CONFERENCE ---
* #1 CLE Cavaliers!! vs. #8 DET Pistons
* #4 ATL Hawks vs. #5 BOS Celtics
* #3 MIA Heat! vs. #5 CHA Hornets
* #2 TOR Raptors! vs. #7 IND Pacers

--- WESTERN CONFERENCE ---
* #1 GS Warriors!! vs. #8 HOU Rockets
* #4 LAC Clippers vs. #5 POR Trail Blazers
* #3 OKC Thunder! vs. #6 DAL Mavericks
* #2 SA Spurs! vs. #7 MEM Grizzlies

Sixteen are in, but only eight can validate themselves as contenders. Which eight, though? We'll see after these games play themselves out. Any predictions you want to call right now before the games begin? Are you maybe confident (or crazy) enough to call the NBA champs for 2015-2016 at this point? Feel free to speculate before the games start.

Even if you're a "Debbie Downer" for your team (like me with my Rockets against Golden State), still- good luck to all teams and congratulations on making it this far.

So I made a thing for the playoffs:

I think whoever wins the eventual GS-SA/OKC matchup will win the finals, likely over Toronto or Cleveland. Yes, I put Toronto as more likely to make the finals over Cleveland, and probably will regret it.
Do you think either team will be able to coast to the ECF? The Cavs have to face Detroit who did give them trouble, and then either Atlanta or Boston. While the Raptors have to face the Pacers & then either Charlotte or Miami. Miami is the one I could see potentially ending their run.

Might as well make some first round guesstimations then eh?
Cavs over Pistons 4-0
Raptors over Pacers 4-2
Miami over Hornets 4-1
Hawks over Celtics 4-2

Warriors over Rockets 4-0
Spurs over Grizzlies 4-0
Thunder over Mavs 4-2
Clippers over Blazers 4-2

Both the 4 vs 5 matchups are really tough to predict I feel, both Boston and Portland probably shouldn't even have made the playoffs this year, while the Clippers and Hawks have both been good but nothing special.
