Pure comedy gold is going on right now:

Yeah, you read that right, the Doc Rivers and the Clippers (mainly Blake Griffin, CP3, JJ Redick, Paul Pierce and owner Steve Ballmer) have flown out to DeAndre Jordan's house, locked him inside to convince him to stay, are are blocking any attempts from Dallas to get inside.
As of right now, Dallas has about 2 1/2 hours to break in and convince him otherwise.

As great as we could use his defense, it's done. Bringing him in now will do nothing but create chemistry issues.

What's sad is that this grown ass man can't call Mark & tell him he's backing out, and has to hide in his house instead. Weak ass mentality. Smh.

He's not hiding out inside his house. The Clippers have locked him in. I wish I was kidding when I said this.

Dallas reporter has said otherwise; that the Clippers aren't keeping Jordan inside. Instead, that Jordan is using them to keep Mark out.

You can't be serious. His teammate CP3 would disagree with you. As we speak, he's thinking "what a p***y", but okay, he'll agree with you.
I'm not sure what you're even on about. He pulled a Carlos Boozer on us. CP3 has a lot of balls to act like he was so shocked DeAndre felt like he was the reason he was leaving; Dirk left mid-vacation to meet with Jordan whilst Paul gave nothing more than a phone call at the beginning of free agency. The only folks happy he's staying are the same Clippers fans who threw him under the bus the moment he said he wanted to go to Dallas.

Money should have gone to Tyson from the start.

Oh, the Raptors signed Scola to a 1yr $3mil deal? Sounds like a solid addition to the bench.

This is a joke right?

No clue, what does their starting 5 look like?

Smart, Bradley, Unknown, Lee, Sullinger. Yeah, not sure what Boston is playing at.

So, Stanley Johnson (Pistons) and Myles Turner (Pacers) were both playing pretty damn well in the Orlando Summer League. I know it's only Summer League, but those two have a real chance to fill valuable needs for their respective clubs.

*Spurs free agency* "MAKE IT STOP!!!:nervous:"

They're not done everybody! Just read that the Spurs traded a 2nd round pick to the Kings for Ray McCallum. That kid played really well for Sacramento, so he's good insurance for the Spurs as a 3rd string point guard. Good trade IMO.

I hope that DJ stuff is a joke, if not then wow that is crazy

Maybe Boston can be fringe 8th seed?

I wouldn't mind that, keeping Boston irrelevant whilst not allowing them to build with lottery picks is fine by me. I do hope Detroit make the playoffs (Baynes will have to change his nickname from "Big Banger" to "THE Detroit Muscle" :sly:, either way he really suits Detroit). They certainly have the makeup to get there, they just need the execution.
My WAY too early predictions/hopes for the East playoffs, in rough order:
Cavs
Hawks
Bulls
Heat
Bucks
Raptors
Pistons
Wizards

The East is actually getting a lot more respectable now, you have to leave out some decent teams when you think about it, including the Hornets (who I left out because Batum had a big time down year in Portland, Kaminsky is not likely to be a big impact player plus they already have Hawes who is a similar player as I understand it, they don't seem to have a shooting guard or much in a way of power forward and depth seems to be a concern), the Magic (great core, are they ready yet? They're a real threat to make the playoffs now, especially if Aaron Gordon plays like the super athletic stretch-4 he was in Summer League) and the Pacers (Paul George is back, the rest of the team isn't. Ellis is a chucker, Myles Turner showed out in Summer League but is a very young inexperienced rookie).
Honestly, it feels like 11 teams in the East are now worthy of the playoffs, unlike last season when it felt more like 6...or less. Of course, and as much as I hate to say it, the injury bug will likely whittle those numbers.

Edit: BTW, screw trying to predict the bloodbath Western Conference.:dopey: Only three things are sure in life, and one of them applies to the West. Death, taxes and the Spurs winning 50+ games and making the playoffs.

Heat just got Gerald Green on a minimum deal. Hail Riley!

Heard you guys are offering up Chalmers & Anderson for "nothing". That they've even considered letting Nappier go.

Loved the dude in PHX. Kinda fell off a cliff in terms of consistency last season, but he'll still get hot from time to time. Enjoy the Four-fingered assassin, as we call him here.

I think they really like Willie Reed if they're considering letting Anderson go. Whiteside, Reed, Bosh, McBob, Haslem; that's a really good front court. Anderson is a fan favorite, though. I think Riles only has him on the block because he's got something up his sleeve.

Riley isn't just a basketball guy. He understands the fans. The guy is really a sports genius. He is the heart, soul, and brain of pro basketball in Miami. Without him, the Heat would just be the Panthers.

Well, I was implying that Chris Paul think very little of Jordan's mentality. It is funny to see Clippers are still being frowned upon by fans, even after the controversial departure of the old owner. '13~'14 was Sterling scandal. '14~'15 was their first Western Conference Finals ever..... NOT! As '15~'16 approaches, they violate the code of conduct on NBA free agency. Lot of money riding on that franchise, but they sure are still good at making the "headlines". Best of luck to Dallas coming out of this.
Yeah east definitely getting stronger :D
By losing our backbone to San Antonio, we sure look like we belong in the East. :(

Man, Mitch McGary is a beast. Hope he can fill Durant's shoes when we bring Kev down to Miami.

@Brett - Are Blazers dumb desperate to offer 4 year/$70M to Enes Kanter?
I'm no Brett, but I do know enough to tell you this:
Great scoring option in the post.
Can't defend a chair to save his life.
(he has a defensive rating of -3.88 ,which ranks him 469th out of 474 players. )
Also:
OKC’s on/off defensive splits: With Kanter on the floor, the Thunder gave up 113.0 points per 100 poss’s. With him off (in the games he was on the team), they gave up only 105.1 per 100.

Utah’s on/off D splits with Kanter this season: 112.1 per 100 when Kanter was on the floor, 103.5 per 100 when he was off (in the games he was on the team).
Yikes. Unless someone like Vonleh or Ed Davis covers for him, ask yourself if you really need that scoring.

Luke Ridnour must be a hot commodity- he's been signed to join almost every team sounds like. I respect Ridnour, but dang... can he join a team and stick with it? I think he's been signed to at least seven NBA teams within the span of two weeks- the latest of which being Toronto... before being waived. Next thing you know it... he'll probably be signed by the Rockets, then some Euroleague team, then some PBA (Philppine Basketball Association) team, then maybe signed to some club in Australia's NBL (National Basketball League). Who's going to lock this guy up for the upcoming season?

That's a really good signing for the Heat for sure, caught me by surprise.

Nah bro, Kanter will lead you to a championship!

I remember some OKC fans acting like Kanter was going to boost their impact event more.

Mavs picked up Bucks center Pachulia yester day. Not amazing, but he's a decent scorer & rebounder. Deron Williams also trying to come back. Fool had his chance and we lucked out with how bad he was in New Jersey.

Yes and no. If the Thunder do not match, then the Blazers get a guy in Enes Kanter who can do a lot of things on the offensive end of the floor. His defense leaves a whole lot to be desired.

Pair Kanter next to a guy like Serge Ibaka and his defensive shortfalls are not as big of an issue. Serge can clean up for many of Kanter's defensive mistakes. Kanter also pairs well with Ibaka on offense end. Ibaka's offensive game is hitting mid range jump shots and expanding his game out to the three point line. Kanter operates from the post and out of the pick and roll.

Enes Kanter is just 23 years old. His offensive game is already very polished. It is difficult to find 23 year old seven footer with his type of touch around the basket and also shoot 75% from the line. He is also very good at grabbing offensive rebounds. His defense certainly needs to improve, but it just needs to improve to about average. The other guys on the team can help pick up that slack.

Realistically, Portland made this offer knowing they have a ton of cap space and that OKC would likely match. It is a way for Portland to stick it to OKC and reduce the Thunder's flexibility in future years. If OKC does not match, then Portland gets a guy that can run some serious offense with Damian Lillard. However, saying the defense would be dreadful might be too kind.

God, screw Miami & all popular FA destinations. :(

Maybe NCAA.

Between your take & DC's post about defensive rating, I'm not at all excited about adding another starter who can't defend. Without at least average defense, even just making the Playoff's a long shot.

Pellies to sign Alonzo Gee, aren't there any better 3's out there in FA?
Dorell Wright, Rasual Butler, Tayshaun Prince (a little old though, could be argued against) and K.J McDaniels (although he's more of a two) are the only 3's that are probably better than Gee out their in FA. FA is almost done now, most teams are either are capped out or are only 1/2 two guys off a complete roster

Bruno Caboclo looks much improved from last year, getting a reasonably efficient 15pts for Summer League game 1 yesterday, unfortunately that game doesn't work on NBA Game Time, and that's when NBA Game Time works at all for me.

Joel Embiid will miss his 2nd straight season, dude is the new Greg Oden no wonder the 76'ers drafted Okafor.

LOL at Kings, reportedly about to sign Bargnani. Most dysfunctional team in NBA history?
