FB/SA22's have three series, that is either a series II or III (probably series II) clearly not a series I (1979)

Well, just look at his sig. He had to get rid of it (the reason I don't remember) and he picked up the Crown Vic.

So, what ever happened to this car? I'm curious.

Well, just look at his sig. He had to get rid of it (the reason I don't remember) and he picked up the Crown Vic.

Chassis rot and lots of it.

Well, I'm not driving it because of the huge amount of chassis rot. It was a hell of a lot worse than I had thought. But I didn't get rid of it. In fact here's a picture I just took of it 2 minutes ago.

As of now it's pending sale to a new owner who's going to use it's engine and most of it's body panels to make his other RX-7 complete.

And to update the thread about what I drive nowadays. Well a picked up another all time favourite of mine, a Ford Police Interceptor. This time, with no rust underneath whatsoever. As it was a law enforcement vehicle for the Rhode Island police department where I'm told salt on the roads is banned.

Anyways, one of these day's I'll buy another RX-7. This time it'll be a proper one!

Thanks for the answer. That sucks about the rot though. Being in Florida, underbody rust isn't as common

Well, I bought a car to replace my Interceptor....Was forced to put the car off the road by the local PD. But, I got another car I've always wanted!

Here's the long story, some of it a already posted in the announcement thread.

A few weeks ago I thought I bought an 06 RX-8, so did the dealership....My co-signer for the car decided to back out the week I was supposed to get it...So I had to cancel the deal.

Then a week ago, I got pulled over by the local police and got a notice to attend an MTO inspection for the local police's "Project ERASE" program, which is aimed at modified tuner cars and to bring them in to get inspected for any unsafe modifications....(Yes I drive a big black stock 4 door crown vic. How does that fit in?) Anyways, during the inspection they told me to rev my car and since I had headgaskets starting to go a bit of white smoke came out, so they instantly failed my car and took my plates which rendered my car not allowed on the roads unless I get another safety certificate and another e-test. Turns out my Interceptor needs almost 3grand in work to get her safetied. So instead of doing that I decided to look for a new car.

Here's the saddest picture I've seen in a long time.....

So, after being carless for a few weeks I found this 1987 Mustang GT in a local classifieds internet ad and I decided to check it out. Turns out the car is incredibly mint, paint and body are still in great condition and the interior was even better. Almost showroom inside to be honest. Makes me feel guilty that I'm using it as my dd haha. It was owned by an old man who told me that the entire drivetrain has been re done a few years ago by the previous owner before him. Turns out the car also had a BBK cold air intake on it. Something tells me that when they rebuilt this engine, they must have added some go fast goodies at the same time. It pulls harder than any stock 5.0 'Stang I've ever been in and it seems as if it might have a mild cam if you listen close enough at idle. Got the car plated and insured today and I cannot believe how much I love this car. I thought I could never replace the Interceptor, but this 'Stang makes me forget about my Interceptor! Anyways, onto the pics. Note that I took these a few days ago before the car was plated and on an overcast day. Looks even more amazing up close and in sunlight!

Hey man you should make a hybrid out of that crown vic (police interceptor) you might not like this but take that 5 speed out it is a 5 speed right manual tranmission to be correct if the previous discription is incorrect. And put it in the Inteceptor as a sleeper sedan.

Sorry to hear about the deal falling through on the RX-8 and all the problems with the P71 (that car was awesome), but it looks like you've fallen on your feet with the Mustang :) Looks in very good condition, and you have to love the tart's handbag interior

Actually, I love how the dashboard is pretty much the same as we used to get in our 1980s Ford Escorts in Europe :P

**** the police. How utterly retarded of them to bother you when CLEARLY your P71 WAS NOT MODOFIED WHAT-SO-EVER. Turbos? No. Supercharger? No. X-pipe with a cat delete? No. Just a little mechanical issue to get fixed on your own time? Yes. I call that harassment.

Either way, the sad sight of the P71 being towed away aside that GT is ok except dump the Cobra sticker and get a full tune up and fluid flush ASAP.

And lastly, god this pisses me off when the police abuses their power and has crap judgment. Any you wonder why they are hated by so many people.

Typical Ford interior. In the '80's and early '90's, the interior color matched the exterior color on Fords. Same with my Ranger.

Sucks about the Crown Vic dude, why did they make you take it off the road?

At least it has a bad-ass replacement though, can't say I like that interior much though. Still, fantastic car, any plans?

I love the interior! As astrosdude91 mentions above, it was a thing Ford did for a while. Red car, red interior. My Fiesta was blue and had a blue interior, and the early Mondeos had an even bluer interior if you went for a blue one. Ditto with Escorts.

Adds a bit of character. It seems like a remarkably original car, so possible engine upgrades and whatever aside I reckon it should be kept at least looking original.

Hehe, I personally have fallen in love with the interior. It's just so incredibly mint, that I just can't help but like it so much. Still amazes me how fun this car is to drive. Just so much torque everywhere and the car handles a lot better than what I expected a fox body would. I guess thats what happens when you jump into a much lighter and stiffer car, when you're used to driving a land yacht hehe. You won't believe the random positive comments I get when I drive her around because of the shape she's in. The car pulls like a bat out of hell, she'll spin all the way through first and spin in 2nd as well. Found out today that it's got dynomax mufflers so it sounds amazing cruising around.

About that, it's actually an authentic cobra. No, not the actual higher performance Cobra fox body that everyone knows about though. Here's a little more history.

1984 – 1992 Mustang Cobra GT’s

While all 1982-1993 Canadian-export Mustangs did have slight differences from their U.S. counterparts, the biggest source of confusion for most people always seems to be regarding the 1984-1992 Canadian Mustang GT’s due to the addition of the word “Cobra” to their name by Ford of Canada.

First of all, let’s get the proper terminology straight, because this is the key to generating the least amount of confusion about these cars… all 1984–1992 Mustang GT’s sold in Canada were marketed as “Mustang Cobra GT’s” by Ford. Hopefully by using ”Canadian Mustang Cobra GT” or “Cobra GT” for short, people will not be confused by other “Cobras” produced by Ford including the 1979-1981 Mustangs equipped with the Cobra package and the 1993-up SVT Cobras (more on these models later in the article).

The term “Cobra GT” is found in 1984-1992 Canadian Ford sales brochures and other Ford-produced literature in place of the term “GT” used in U.S. Mustang literature. In addition, the words “Mustang Cobra GT” were also used on the window stickers of all 1984-1992 GT’s sold in Canada. The term “Cobra GT” was a direct replacement for the word “GT” in Ford of Canada Mustang literature during this time period. Interestingly, no other Mustang models such as the L, GL, GLX, LX, LX 5.0L Sport or Turbo GT received a different name in Canada. Canadians report that this “Mustang Cobra GT” terminology is also used when registering and insuring these cars in Canada. Canadian owners have also told us that even though Ford did not call the 1982-1983 and 1993 Mustang GT's "Cobra GT's", this terminology mistakenly shows up for 1982-1983 and 1993 Mustang GT's in insurance databases.

The addition of the “Cobra” name leads many people to believe that these cars have additional performance equipment or special features over a regular U.S. GT, but that is NOT the case. The bottom line is 1984-1992 Canadian Cobra GT’s are simply the Canadian version of the U.S.-sold 1984–1992 Mustang GT. The difference is in NAME only; there are NO fundamental differences between the Canadian and U.S. GT models. Performance-wise, the 1984-1992 Canadian Cobra GT’s were absolutely no different than their American GT counterparts (including horsepower figures, available engines, transmissions and suspensions). This fact has been verified through a number of sources including the comparison of Canadian vs. U.S. Ford sales brochures and individual car’s build sheets and window stickers.

It's a little odd, but there isn't a true explanation as to why Ford Canada named all GT's from 1982-1992 the "Cobra GT"

Didnt really like that shape mustang but yours looks pretty mean. Congrats on the purchase 👍

Shame about the police man, I get hassle like that a lot too but they always seem to be interested in my insurance rather than see if the car's roadworthy.
Really pisses me off, they make it out like young people who spend money on their car's are just like criminals

+1 on the dynomax. Screw blowmaster mufflers, they suck balls. And as for the "Cobra GT", any performance stuff from the factory or is it just a sticker? Either way, I'd lose the sticker. :D

OH AND VIDEOS ARE REQUIRED! lol

Edit, and that's why I need a camera myself...my little SVT sounds pretty damn mean itself. I scare people sometimes because of the rasp it makes.

**** the police.

What's the plan for the P71 then?
Trying to sell it but it's not really working out. Sorta need the driveway space now.

Ya it sucks. The head of the local traffic division was really getting on my case and this was their excuse to screw me over and it worked.

No differences between Canadian Cobra GT's and American GT's. Just a strange Canadian thing that confuses people. I kinda like the sticker, it's just a nifty little Canadian deal I guess. I'll try and take some videos today but it's a little moist outside, these car's are a little scary in the rain haha. I wanna take some WOT passes.

Pictars! Cleaned the car up and was pretty damn surprised how much shinier the car got! Can't believe the stares and thumbs ups I get in this thing!

Dayum man, very nice. I wish Holden had small sports cars like this on the cheap, I'd own one. It kind of wants new rims and lowered coil-over suspension though.:sly:

Man that is a nice Cobra!!!
How much power they got?
Also how much the car weights according to the sticker? Crub Weight and Gross Weight
