Congrats again. You need to get yourself a small one of these
Any modding plans?
Definitely, every Vette needs one somewhere!
I got a buddy who's parents used to own a C6 Vert and if he can find it, he'll give me the Vararam intake. It's also way too quiet for what I'm used to. Thinking of a Corsa Extreme exhaust. For now, just little things for the time being. I'm just happy to own one!
Nice vette! It's a shame though that 4th gen is gonna get killed by the winter.
Well it kinda does kill me to do it, but it's in good hands. I'm not gonna let the salt get to it. I want to eventually turn it into the track car.
Nice! Gotta update your signature now lol. How does it corner in the sport mode type thing?
Done and done. ;)
It's nice and stiff. My Camaro handled good with it's Koni yellow's, Strano springs, sub frame connectors and it's panhard bar but this thing is in a league of it's own.

Is the fuel door button still under the armrest in the C6?
No, it's to the left of the steering wheel on the dash under the interior dim switch beside the trunk release button.
Awesome. Congrats dude.
Thanks man! Where have you been lately? Haven't seen you on here in ages!
Clean indeed. And 6 speed. Yumy.

Damn dude nice! That thing looks clean! 👍

Very nice 'Vette!
Thanks everyone. Gonna head out with the DSLR today and try and get some better photos!

Alright GTP I guess I could update my thread showing the progress and changes I've made to the car in the past year or so of owning my car!

First off, I'd like to say it's been a blast owning it and having her as a daily driver! I love the fact that with the magnetic suspension you can have a comfortable long distance cruiser (more on that later) and then with a flick of the switch the car stiffens up and makes attacking the twistie's incredibly fun!

So, where do I start....
Picked the car up a little over a year ago at 24-ish thousand km's. Today, she's sitting at about 51 thousand km's and I've loved every single min of it. I ended up doing a three thousand kilometer road trip earlier this summer to New Brunswick, amazing drive and had a blast driving through the forests of Maine.

Here's a picture that I thought was awesome while in Maine!

In the past year I've done a few little bolt ons the first of which was a Vararam Intake. Which I'm quite pleased with.

Then, since we all know how quiet C6's were I ended up getting an SLP loudmouth axleback that made the car a little louder....

Thought I was happy with that, but then I got to reading on the forums that Z06's exhaust manifold's from the LS7 and the high flow cat's bolt on directly to LS2's and people were seeing gains on the dyno of 20-30rwhp. So I started looking around and scored some manifolds and highflow cat's for next to nothing!

While I was getting them installed, I decided to go with larger pipes from the cat's all the way to the SLP axleback. Went from a 2.5'' to 3'' piping.
They also looked pretty sitting in the engine bay! At least to the stock manifolds that is!

Best bang for buck mod I think. Did I mention it made the car sound ridiculous! Ridiculous popping during the overrun and it just sounds downright evil!

I've been told it now sounds like a super loud ZR1. I think this vid kinda proves that and yes I also bought a GoPro along the way! (more of that later!)

I just love jumping in and getting lost in this car!

Plus that GoPro makes for some fun still photos!

Of course the one thing that always bothered me about the car since I've bought it were the chrome wheels... I've never been a fan of chrome wheels so I always said to myself that they were going to go as soon as possible. Each time, I'd end up spending it on improving the car's performance instead of it's appearance. A week ago I told myself that I was going to finally do something about it......
Well wheels finally came in today and I just got them on today as well. They're the split spoke design that came on the LS3 Corvette's but black. Totally makes me fall for the car again! I love the way it she looks!
Here's some pics from tonight!

It's also been decided that ZR1 style front splitter is next up for the car!

And my absolute favourite photo of the car from tonight!

Well, I guess that's the story so far! Thank's for tuning in! I think she needs a slight lowering so I might lower the adjustable lowering bolts on the car. I think it sits almost perfect up front and a slight drop in the rear to get the stance I want. Next big update might be a nice custom grind cam. 500 plus horsepower sounds like a reasonable goal!

And here's some more GoPro footage, stuck it on the back bumper near the exhaust so this one's pretty damn loud haha.

Thanks guys! Can't wait till I get a custom grind cam and it'll sound like it's making popcorn at idle!

Wow the black wheels look so sick on there!! Good choice going with the C6 over the C5. I prefer the look of the C6 Vettes. Already such an awesome car and now its even better with those black wheels. The vette is one heck of an upgrade from your Camaro and nice to see you still have both cars. Oh and that is a beautiful last pic of the Vette. 👍

Thank you! I can't believe how much more it pops with the black wheels. Makes the red calipers and drilled rotors stick out even more! Plus this car gives me a chance to learn more about photography since it's super photogenic!

Ya, I've sunk so much into that Camaro to the point that everyone tells me I should just cut my losses and ditch but I'm not gonna lie, I still love that car! I think it's gonna be a "Love the beast" type deal with it, like Eric Bana had on his. Can't see myself getting rid of it anytime soon! You know what they say, "Chevy runs deep" haha!

Great looking and sounding Corvette!👍 Australians will always be jealous of Corvettes, we can not get that level of car for that level of money.

Thanks! I'm liking your 'ute! Wish GM would just bring the damn thing over already!

Sounds lovely.

Now when you gonna add the bi-turbo setup ?

;)

Keep us updated

Sorry for the double post, but it's been a while and some changes to the Vette have happened!

So, last month I sent the car to the local Vette shop I frequent. I got them to install a comp cams custom grind cam for me and a Brian Tooley racing trunion kit. Since the car was in for that I might as well get a Lingenfelter LNC2000 two step launch control installed... :sly:

Here's spec sheet for the cam:

And here's the dyno sheet. Not a bad gain, considering that LS2's are pushing around 340rwhp stock and my car is only running Z06 manifolds. 409rwhp and 383rw torque.

Car feels amazing, sounds nasty at idle and that torque curve! It's super flat and the car just feels like she's got torque everywhere. I think next up on the list of mods is going to be a LSXR FAST 102 intake manifold and then converting the car to a widebody. It's getting to the point where I'd like to have wider meat in the back to handle the power better.

Oh ya, I guess I can't make an update without a little video....

Just playing with the 2 step again, it's addicting. I'll have to make more videos of it driving now. Anyways, that's my almost 2 years of ownership update with my Corvette!

Oh ya, I forgot to add. I got one of my buddies into Corvette's as well. So as of last week, he's now the owner of an Arctic White C6! Here's a pic of the two of our car's!

400whp is great, more than that and it really isn't usable unless you're in triple digit speeds or on a race track. Love the cam lope, I need to get an LS powered car at some point in my life.

Sweet performance figures (I've never heard of an LS2 making 340rwhp stock though, sounds like an inflated figure). Must be so much fun to drive indeed.

Ah. Nice cam specs, agressive but still streetable. Now go drive the Camaro and add a blower to it or something.

330-360rwhp seems to be what the LS2's are getting from members of Corvette forum. It's all over the place. It's hilariously fun to drive right now and I just love that chop, sounds like a monster.

Haha, I just put the Camaro away for the summer. Maybe I'll reinstall the old roll cage that came with it, drop it off at the Vette shop and possibly turn the LT1 into a 383 stroker.

Sounding sick especially the new cam lobe!! I love the sound of cars with a nice aggressive cam at idle. You need to get another go pro rear bumper cam run. That was one of my favorite videos in here so far. In fact you are actually inspiring me to think of getting a go-pro for myself so I can make some videos. My old camcorder sucks. And the go pro seems to be the best option.

YES! You cant go wrong with a 383 stroker.

Ooh, I'll get on that GoPro video as soon as I can! Also, yes you should definitely get one as well! Mine is just the Hero 2 but it still works quite well. I'd love to get a Hero 3+ since the audio seems a lot better and nighttime recording is also miles better!

It's hard not to ignore the Camaro haha. It's still one of my favorite cars so I can't just let her sit.
I still want to just one day turn it into a track car. I think that'd do her justice.

I will have to look into the Hero 2. The audio from that sounded excellent imo.

I also agree you should turn the Camaro in to a road track / autocross beast. Which reminds me. I really need to get mine out again now that its finally starting to kinda look like spring. Been a brutal winter. Looking forward to more videos and pics of your cars. :)

Ugh, tell me about it. We've had our worst winter in years here. In fact we have snow in schedule for next Monday and Tuesday..... Hopefully this year I can attend some autocrosses. It was my whole goal with this car but work kept getting in the way. It'd be nice to push this car to the limits in a safe, legal controlled environment.
