There's a difference between trashing a game and hard constructive criticism. I am disappointed with how this game turns out because I know that Ghost can do so much more. Case in point, I enjoy No Limits, even though it's probably only 10% of this game, because it makes 100% use of the mobile platform. Whereas this game feels half assed even after 2 years.

If people get too soft developers will get too complacent. It's a downward spiral from there...

It's a lot better than the disappointment that is Rivals, besides, a 10 hour campaign is a lot longer than most games today.

Yes it is better than Rivals. Don't get me wrong this Nfs have potential to be this what it's want to be but at the moment there are too many things missing. I played it on my xbox and i'm waiting for the pc version. I hope the game is still better than.

I heard that the developers want to expand the game for years. Is that right?

I haven't got a source but I hope that is true. By sticking with this current theme, Need For Speed would be the only underground street racing game on the market right now, unless you view The Crew as that type of game. I wonder if by expansion they mean going back to annual releases with a new story and environment but still sticking with an emphasis on car customisation.

I've seen some of the gameplay and played the Beta and I really don't think it's that bad. The customization is actually pretty good because at least the bodykits and stuff are different for each car. What some people may not know is that every bodykit, hood, side skirts and wing in the Underground games is literally the exact same part but adjusted to fit each car, compared to this which actually has real parts that differ from car to car. From what I played of the beta (around 5 hours) the game is amazing. Looks great, handles amazingly, good customization for most cars, detailed wrap editor, in depth performance tuning and the cops are pretty realistic. Also, this is just a reboot and is Ghost's first attempt at a racing game with heavy emphasis on customization. Definitely going to buy the full game of this.

I really hope Ghost Games follows Evolution's and Rockstar's examples with respectively Driveclub and GTA V, with content updates every now and then to keep the game fresh. Evo and R* really have done a great job when it came to developer post-release support, and I cross my fingers in hope Ghost does the same with NFS 2015.

Right and i only criticism the game. I'm disappointed too because this is the usual trick from ea. They say this game is all about crazy tuning and so on. I've seen the half of things they promise. I think it's too early released. I think i have too high expactations like thousand other gamer.

Ghost have said that there will be free content updates for the game following release. Hopefully it continues for at least a few months

It's just like people will never be happy with what they are given.
I mean we got some amazing cars with a decent amount of customization and some absolutely stunning engine sounds!!

People are complaining about the game being too easy and too ugly and too dark and... Jeeez!

The game is great for what it is - free roam, great customization, incredible sounds and a solid handling model.

Why all the hate!?

EDIT: The people on Xbox One that complain about the FPS, just need to do a "Hard Reset" of the console and it runs just as smooth as on PS4. I've done it myself!
From what I've heard it is very justified.

Yeah, we have customization but it's very limited in the majority of cases.

Yeah, we have amazing cars but we can only have 5 of them. That simply isn't enough. I am willing to bet that paid DLC will add more garages (and therefore spaces) though.

People are saying they want more varied events and hubs of activity from different car cultures to extend the life of this game. They also want the time to be at least dynamic throughout the map, rather than just odd patches where the idea of planets rotating around axis doesn't work.

It might be great for what it is, but that's the problem. It's not great, and people are sorely disappointed after the hype that surrounded this game. That's understandable, really.

Just wait until PC release, there could be some major update or something. Just a hunch though, based on what R* did with GTA Online.

THANK YOU! Someone had to bring this up. Moreover, this is only the first instalment of a franchise reboot so obviously it will be short on content and features. I am just grateful Ghost Games are taking the Need For Speed name back to the style of gameplay where popularity in the series peaked and even though it is not perfect, it is much better than carrying on from Rivals and has the potential to be improved in future releases.
I have to agree since this is Ghost's first attempt at a NFS game that has customization after 6 yrs. I have a feeling that they were a bit pressured after the teaser since they all know people are going to expect a Underground like game and since they went for that route, and with the staff being ex Criterion staff, it would be hard for Ghost to recreate what was Underground. If the staff had ex Black Box staff, then I think it was due to their low numbers. But still, can't wait to get this game on Wednesday. :)

What exactly was wrong in NFS Rivals for you? It was basically a sequel to NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 with an open world this time, I enjoyed it as much as all other NFS games.
It was buggy and it made the game unplayable when you have full lobby since the game runs at 30fps. And also, a lot glitches. But still a good game why?

- Ferrari's return after 9 years.
- A Hot Pursuit game that uses open roam.
- New cop/racer tech equipment.
- The return of wraps, customizable plates, and performance upgrades.
- The ability to have 3 cop car variants.

So overall, if the game wasn't that buggy, it would've been great. Also the reason why this game gained a lot of hate is because Theo panned this game as the worst and its because...Underground fanboys.

Rivals got a lot of hate because it wasn't what any of us were asking for.

Imo, NFS 2015 was needed even in 2013. Aside from bad timing, the game was buggy and rushed, and the progession felt rather uninspired and bland.

That's a shame. I sure hope that rank 50 takes longer to achieve otherwise, it will be a short journey.
Unfortunately I'm at lvl 33/34 (don't remember) at 10 hrs. The rate of leveling has slowed down quite a bit though, but I figure 20 hrs for the semi-casual player?

Even though the game still has its flaws, I am still quite excited to play the game and will definitely purchase it.

Yea once we finish the story it will be quite an enjoyable game, the only thing it really NEEDS is manual transmission. I'm no programmer but surely it can't be too hard to implement the option.

It's based off the battlefield driving model, it wont happen till BF gets some sort of manual tank.

Lol. OK. Where did you get that gem from?
It's a preset in the frostbite sdk, ghost games really dont know what theyre doing, since most of the assets criterion made for them made it into this game after 2 years of supposed development.

This doesn't surprise me, and it would explain why they don't have it even though loads of people complained about it. It will probably take loads of work just like the unlocked frame rate on PC. The driving in this game and Rivals does remind me a bit of driving a jeep in Battlefield

Meh, I've never used manual.

That is an epic facepalm moment. Using a non-racing game as base for a driving game's physics engine will only end in disaster. Can't they create a new driving model based on the Frostbite engine? Reminds me of The Crew using Watchdogs engine as a basis. See how that one turns out...

They can't because EA is dead set on using the same engine with minimal tweaks to save time and money.

After reading all this and various reviews I can only think of Simcity, ie. downfall of a once great name.

We've been on this merry go round before but since we've had a past example, by the same company, I think many will choose to not even get on this for a ride.

What's next 6 months down the track? EA will put out a patch that removes always online due to 'public pressure'?

If you like this kind of thing, yeah go for it.
