No, I'm not saying people expect perfection. In fact, it seemed like there was a large contingent of people on this forum bashing the game before it was released. I understood the skepticism, because I too have felt the last few NFS games have been rotten.
Well in this case, is it really a problem that this happened, even though it seems like it was for good reason? It's not like it was just blind hate, as it looks like things didn't change even when the full game released. There was a lot of things that I did not like about it from what I read before it came out, and it seems like it wasn't unwarranted.

I think I am just disappointed with how negative the general populace is nowadays. It is virtually impossible to satisfy people. Collectively, I feel like people refuse to adapt, compromise, and accept flaws. Across the internet it seems like people are saying 'I paid 60 bucks! This thing should be able to wipe my butt for me!'
The negativity is not without good reason, that's the problem. it's one thing if everything was just blind hate like I said, but it's not. The negativity that this game is receiving is all because of a lot of the silly choices they made, no one is going around and hating without reason. The naysayers here have been very constructive here.

The thing I'm seeing with you though, is that you're not really describing adapting, but more so turning a blind eye. Adapting would be more like jumping from something like GT, FM, or Driveclub and switching over to a more physics-based game like PCars, and having to adjust to all the new things the game is introducing. What you're saying though is to try to ignore these problems and force some fun out of the game. If you have to get to the point that you're trying to force fun out of the game, then it's just not a fun game in the first place.

There was a lot of things that I did not like post release, so I decided to skip out. Farther down the line they started to implement patches for some of the things I had a problem with, so I decided to give it a chance. It was fun going through and customizing the car and seeing the options available, and when I got to the map the vista's where great and the photomode was fun. Then I actually got to driving the car, and what an absolute mess that is. If they can't get the one thing down, that is going to be the main staple of said game, then there was little more for me to do than chuck it in the bin and forget about it.

You're here labeling people that have very well-thought criticism about a game, and trying to say they're acting like children, when nothing of the sort is happening.

But like I said, the complaints are legitimate. I'm just more of a 'glass half full' guy. I'd rather focus on the fact that they gave us awesome graphics with buttery-smooth framerates, an awesome wrap editor and customization that hasn't been seen for years in an NFS title, or most other games for that matter. I will be playing the heck out of this game until a better version comes along.
So far, the only thing this game has going for it on consoles over the competition is that it has some good customization. If that is all it's going to do better in regards to what's on the market though, I'd rather save my money. Here's to hoping Horizon add's some more customization this time around.

Adapting is taking an existing circumstance and adapting to it. As in, "I love making cool wraps on this game so I'm willing to forgive some wonky mechanics and still enjoy it." What you are describing isn't adapting, it's changing the circumstances altogether. Jumping ship to a different game. If NFS (or any other game) isn't fun, then that's certainly an option. Just stop playing and move on. But that isn't adapting.

You are spot on though, I AM trying to force some fun out of the game. When I pay 60 bucks for something I want to feel like I get my money's worth. So what makes more sense? Try to appreciate the game for the high points and enjoy them? Or moan about how much money I lost because it wasn't everything I hoped it would be? - Again, glass half empty or half full? I'm simply choosing the more optimistic bent and encouraging others to consider the same. I don't enjoy feeling like I blew 60 bucks on junk, and naturally don't want others to feel the same way.

Customization is HUUUUGGE for me. It's way more important than the racing. That's why games like Project Cars and Gran Turismo don't appeal to me in the least. For people with the same interests, this game isn't nearly as bad as most make it out to be. But it just all depends on what your driving motivation is I suppose. If people aren't into spending hours on making unique wraps, then I can't fault them for not liking it, because that's where the game shines.

I've never played any Forza games because I only game on PC. Now that it's coming to PC, I'm willing to give it a shot - like you said, if it gives us some nice customization options that would be great. I have no special loyalty to NFS.

You missed my point entirely with the example I gave. In context to what I wrote, what you'd be adapting to is a change in physics. That is adapting.

While you're not entirely wrong in saying that you'd adapt and work around the problems and bugs in a certain situation, it's also hand in hand with outright ignoring something to try to give it some appeal. I don't follow the route, unfortunately.

At that point you do whatever you want to. There is no wrong, and that is why I'm confused as to why you're trying to down play these(all so necessary) gripes with the game. You want to try to force fun out of something horrible, cool. Others are rightfully disappointed, and being part of a discussion forum, they are going to want to discuss. The glass is non existent for me, things are good, and things are bad. There is middle ground for me, though, and if it's at that point I try to "adapt." The part of the game that appeals to me is so bad it's not worth the effort.

Customization is something I appreciate, but it is just a sidestep. Forza has a decent amount, but they seem to take out more than they put in recently. I'm hoping that's something that changes in the future. If I buy a game focused on driving, though, I prefer it to be the first and foremost, and most optimized part of the game.

Has anyone come across a glitch which causes 10 seconds to be added to your "cooldown" time if you crash during it? :odd:

The Deluxe Edition is now discounted to 26,40 euro's on Xbox One and the Normal Edition to 23,10 euro's.

I am considering to buy this game. But i have one question: Is it possible to complete this game from start to end with one single car or do you have to change your car at some point in the game? Just wondering because i had this idea by doing it with the BMW M3 E46 that comes with the Deluxe Edition.

You should be able to do most of the game with one car but sum events require cars with under 200HP (only 1 or 2)

Yes, it is possible to beat the game using a single car, but there are events to aware of which means you can't complete story mode using just a BMW M3 E46.

  • The "Speed" Aspect of the game requires you to use a car with 250hp or less about halfway through the story
  • "Outlaw" has a similar requirement, although you need a car with less than 200hp

Also I believe the last build event requires you to use Nakai San's Porsche which you had to buy it from your garage if I'm not mistaken.

So, I just started playing this game, am about halfway through. I didn't bother reading this entire thread, so I'm sorry if I'm stating the obvious here...

What on earth have they done to the physics? The drifting in this game is horrendous! The driving itself isn't that bad as long as the car doesn't slip into "drift mode", but sometimes it decides to drift while I'm driving straight forward, rejecting all steering input.

I mean, I love the customization aspect. The first thing I did was to make a somewhat complex livery for my Mustang, and the graphics are beautiful. But the drift train and Gymkhana events, man, they bring out a rage in me I never knew existed.

Will not be completing this in any near future, sure am glad I borrowed it before buying.

Edit:
Might as well post some pics of the two I used the most.

If I remember there's also a Speed event where it will require you to buy and use Magnus Walker's 911.

So yeah, technically the game is actually impossible to beat while sticking with only one car as for two events, you need to use icon cars.

This is basically me when I heard it a constant connection was required:

After that point I barely gave a crap about the game.

I don't mind the internet connection but it just isn't fun enough to play anymore (mostly down to the handling). I haven't went back to the game since completing the "story" and that was months ago. Thinking about just selling it since there is most likely not going to be anymore updates.

Exactly the same thought and wondering how much would I get in return for it?

CeX say they would give £13 for the PS4 version and £10 for the XB1 version. Or you could get £18 (PS4) or £14 (XB1) in store credit for it.

I might try to sell the few PS4 games I don't play as well as Forza 5. Would get £65 (in store credit) for all of them so for that I could probably buy Uncharted 4 (£42) & Fallout 4 (£18) from them

We can all agree NFS 2015 has limited replay value. I was playing Most Wanted 2012 nearly two years after I got it because I found Multiplayer a lot of fun due to the variety of events plus a levelling system which rewards you with more cars and upgrades as you play.

On the other hand, multiplayer in NFS 2015 game seems like an afterthought with little or nothing to add on single player - ironic for a game which is always online.

Well you know there's something wrong when people start making threads about NFS games that are 2 generations old, and they are way more active than the newest NFS thread.

I still haven't bought this game. Just checked on Origin and it's 50% off for $50. Should I buy it? Probably I'll wait some more to get even cheaper

Bored with the 911 and RSR in Prestige Mode? Do you want to get gold on all of the speed events with different cars because you can? Then have a try of the following cars!

- Nissan Silvia S15
- BMW M3 E92
- Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9
- Ford Mustang '65
- Lamborghini Huracan
- Lotus Exige

Thank this challenge here which I found:
