Need For Speed: Carbon

im TOTALLY confused, this is what i thinkis true at the minute

PC version; Zonda F, challenger,

X360: CCX, 240sx

PC ZONDA F AS PAID DOWNLOAD?

Don't know if it's paid but yes and so is the the oldschool challenger. The PS2 version has the 240sx, jaguar XK, CCX and the challenger concept:)

Yep. :) With a bit of editing I can get any car I want in career (I've already completed the game normally, just having abit of fun :D).

HACKER! Haha, just kidding. I beat my NFS:C on PS2, so Im planning to try it out for PC. I can model cars, so I will make as many cars as I want. Maybe I can also find a way to get 900 degree steering.

Hey, EA left them there!

(Heck, they even left some MW cars in there too. Lazy buggers)

so the zonda f is on pc, the ccx is on everything else, (those are the only 2 im bothred about)

Heck, I want a zonda on the ps2 damnit! Oh well either way....

Just sold my stock Monaro and got an Elise.... the lotus is a beast. handles perfectly and its nippy all over the place.

Has anyone got a cheat for this (on the 360) to get up all the extra cars?? I've completed the career mode (100%) & most of the challenge modes. But them reward cards are a pain in the butt. I'd like to have a go at modding some of the other cars before i get rid of this.
And if not, how the hell do you get up the MR2??

555
how the hell do you get up the MR2??

complete everything including the rewards cards to get everything, ive got 6 1/4 tiles to go, so pretty much 1 and 1/2 squares. It unlocks all cars including the Trueni and MR2

I believe this is my first post for the "Need for Speed: Carbon" thread. I'll offer up my comments about this game that I've rented.

PROGRESS
I am currently at just past 50% completion. My two cars are a Renaul Clio V6 and a Porsche Cayman S. I have conquered Downtown and Kempton. I am on pace to capture Fortuna by winning a few more races and being challenged by the Fortuna Boss. I started with a Mazda RX-8. I later moved on to a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse and a 2005-ish Ford Mustang GT. The most recent car I unlocked is a Lotus Elise (Exotic class). I have about 66 Free Race venues, though I've done a lot fewer Free Races.

EXTRA INFO
I try to paint my cars by my favorite paintscheme- dark blue, royal blue, and gold (gold like a yellow-orange color, NOT yellow). * Some of my favorite visuals are the usage of vinyl graphics. Some of the Body vinyls have worked very well for me. I sometimes wished I could find some better vinyls to really create the dream paint style I would like for the car in question. * My favorite type of Wingman/Wingwoman is a Blocker. Blockers add a unique touch to racing since it seems like a football game. Here is a football analogy. If you run the Option play or have a designed run in mind, you often need an offensive player to take out incoming defenders as you make your running play. The Blocker's duty is to take out the nearest opponent so that you have a chance to keep racing to the Finish line. So think of a Blocker as your Tight End or Offensive Tackle. * I'm tempted to find various visual enhancements to cars. I try to avoid bodykit styles that look too outlandish. I like one bodykit I got for my Cayman S. It has a wide rear to it and is sort of reminiscent of old-school Porsche GT cars back in the 1970s.

PERSONAL FEELINGS ABOUT THE GAME
The formula for Need for Speed has changed since moving from exotics to more affordable machines. Some people felt (not me since I haven't played "NFS: Most Wanted" yet) that Need for Speed: Most Wanted was sort of a disappointment as Carbon provided some sort of interface deal that's better than Most wanted. I will admit that I've been hooked to this game for customization. I'm opposed to stuff like bodykits in the Gran Turismo series, but this game has a lot of visual customization that is really better than what most people say about it. I found great joy in making these wonderful designs and schemes to my cars. Say what you will about Need for Speed since NFS:U. You have to agree that modifying the look of these cars can be quite enjoyable if you have the creative juices to make magic work. Having said that, this game can be quite enjoyable for the one who has an eye for design. The city looks wonderful. The dark city scape and bright lights help provide an environment which I think is very pleasing to the eye. I actually like the color combinations. Around 8:31 PM CST, I lost a whole bunch of races after I hired Nikki to try to help me take over the northern section of Palmino City. So I fired her and put in Colin. My winning percentage improved since making the switch.

My biggest Pro:
* a great number of cars to appeal to many different tastes. Everything is all sorted as Tuner, Muscle, and Exotic. The Tuner-type cars are usually the most-balanced machines with great handling and good speed. Great all-around cars. The Muscle class consist mostly of cars with impressive acceleration and good top speeds... all at the expense of weak handling. The Exotic class mostly consists of fast automobiles with good top speed and handling. My preference in the game has been towards Tuner, though I had a blast taking that Aston Martin DB9 from that one other Boss I battled.

OTHER PROS:
* Customization is insane
* Autosculpt increases possibilities for tuned cars
* Who doesn't love a maxed-out speed demon? ^_^
* I'll admit... it can be pretty interesting how the different races and such are laid out. Free Roam can be pretty interesting. I just wish that it wasn't some Grand Theft Auto deal in which you have to watch out for the 5-0/fuzz/police.
* I actually likethe graphics and how wonderful the city and its surroundings can be (unless you're talking about the Muscle Car area in Palmino City).
* Nicely-detailed cars, even for the PS2

My biggest Con:
* Couldn't find a control scheme I like. I wanted a scheme in which I feel comfortable working the basic functions of a car in addition to changing the view. There isn't even a Custom scheme. The viewpoint issue really got to be a hassle.

OTHER CONS:
* Final section of the Palmino City can be VERY tough
* Drift physics are spotty for Drift sections. Somewhat of a learning curve.
* (from experience) my maxed-out Aston Martin DB9 can't beat a Mitsubishi Lancer VIII in a Canyon Battle! >_<
* would have liked more race car-like body kits than overkilled aggression.
* wished I had more Autosculpt options. The ones the game provides can be horrible and makes a car look completely unrecognizable

NEUTRAL:
* I might have liked different times of day and maybe even weather effects
* A Porsche Boxster would have been a nice Tier 1 Exotic vehicle
* the Blocker is my favorite Wingman; the Drafter is my least favorite Wingman
* some may critize that you can have a FWD vehicle that all of a sudden has Drifting capabilities.

OVERALL:
It was a pretty cool game. I actually got into it. One of the best ways to know that you'll like a game is to basically get into it. Feel connected. This game did it for me. I still don't consider myself to be very big on the "NFS: Underground" thing, but it is a game worth a rental. Does that mean it's bad? No, not at all. I'll present this with a score of about (8.00 out of 10.00).

I agree with the control scheme problem
because I need the hood view for drift sessions
so hard to control with the default drift view (can't default to other view)
I ended up using the right stick to control the gas/brake
not a problem for me since I already get used to the right stick in TOCA3

When I did a pursuit in the challenge series, it was impossible for me to shake off the cops. I tried for 10 minutes without success. This was on a Mazda3, the easiest of the 3.

GT4R
I didn't have a problem with that one, but th enext one was hard in the GT500. I got blocked by some cops, so I reversed and tried pulling a 'Rockford,' reversing, then turning hard and transitioning to forward motion again. Well, the GT500 rolls like a boat at sea in the game, and actually flipped over. I got busted. :ouch:

Does anyone have an idea on how to get more money? I beat the game a couple days ago, but most of the races were completed. Now I can only get ~$700 for winning them again, or $1000 when I wander around in freeroam waiting for a challenger to show up. It's kinda hard to do anything else in the game without any money, y'know? At least in Most Wanted, you got all the money when you did a race again.

The final boss' car was also a sore spot for me. I'm pretty steamed about seeing Darius give you the keys to his car, tell you it's yours now and somehow it's not in your garage! :grumpy:

a wanderer shows up every 2 mins on the dot. Ive only to to do 18 more free roam challenges, win 20 deffensive races(ive done about 12 but i can't seem to get anymore:crazy: ) and i need to ram 100 cops in a single pursuit(my highest is 99:( thought the cops chasing you number was the cops rammed, it was at 136 when i lost them) thats all i need to do till i have clocked the game completely. I'm hoping like hell people will still challenge me for teritory hasn't happened since i finished %100 carrer mode:(:ill:

I'll be honest. I don't really like the criminal aspect of all this. I don't want to race in a game in which I'm a wanted man. I don't want to be Tommy Vercetti racing the Grand Valley 300km when police pull out on the track to chase me down and block me up. Just like Honda motorcycle commercials go, "I wanna ride." I don't want to feel like I'm risking my life against others in completely illegal racing. The only game series to take this gaming aspect to a highly-acceptable level (the ONLY one) is the Ridge Racer series. Most of what you race on are city streets. But you're not trying to outrun the police or earn "street cred" against your peers. You're just racing to win.

One thing I loved about this game is that your teammate could win the race for you if you're not going to win. Your wingman/wingwoman can help win the race for your team. You still get the same rewards. I really like the team concept this racing game provides. Your teammate can be a leader while to try and follow. He'll/She'll even go out of your way so you can cleanly pass to go for the win. It is a loveable aspect of this game. How do you all feel about this aspect of the game?

What about Project Gotham Racing. No street cred their, just good ole fasioned stock super car racing on closed off city streets. Fun as all get out too. I still love PGR 1

Yeah the pg is very nice.
My opinion for the game is that it ...sucks.
The worst thing is that it's extremely easy. I don't want to analyze many examples, just this...
I was in the last mission. There were four races. I could easily win the first 3 of them (the cars were lemans quattro , murcielago and so on) and i was stuck in the last race. What i was driving? A RX-7
Because i didn't want to spend much time with this, i decided to buy an slr mclaren. I thought that i would be too easy now.
But, eventually, it was the same thing. No matter what car i had, how fast i drove, the main factor is LUCK. I finally won with a time difference of 0.23sec.
With the rx7 i lost with a difference of 0.1
Is this logical? I cannot understand..
I didn't read through the entire thread, so some things i said may be in another page...

Oh, a something else...NFU2 was great, but the best nfs i think is nfs hot pursuit 2.

I nead a computer:( Have only got to get a $50,000 fine and win 20 defensive races to clock the game completely now:D You can't do anything with the eclipse it's like the CCX etc, can't mod it or by it in carrer:( can only use it in quickrace, Stupid? I don't kow if i'll be able to clock it though as i have just redone 10 career races and didn't get challenged once:(

Apparently, my friend got Carbon for PS2. She also said that the drift is nothing like the one in NFSU 2; its too jerky and sensitive. And I don't think this makes it realistic, either.
