All I'll say is we were all thinking exactly the same last year, how all the screenies and stuff were looking great and it failed, hard. I'm not denying it does look good so far, but don't be betting on a fantastic title just yet.

I'll raise your +10 with +100!

This game seems to be number:

, a winner.

I think the same as you do. Last year's title was an epic FAIL! That's why EA didn't dare to release a demo before the game launched, as they knew that there won't be as much players buying the title if they got a demo before launching. :indiff:

Playing is believing.👍

But by knowing who those people working behind the game, I kinda confident that this coming title will not be the same NFS title as the previous ones. 👍 Let's wait and see!

Except that this game has already proven it's based around realistic circuit racing. That right there should at least warrant a rental before we knock it.

From Alan Boiston 👍, vvvgamer.com comes the following Hands-On/Driftmode test.

"Need For Speed Shift is drifting ever closer to launch but with the competitive rivalry of the big new racers its interesting to see just how much information is being held back. Sunday 28th June saw the culmination of the Time Attack Drift Series at the UK’s historic Brands Hatch Circuit for Modified Live; it also saw EA unveil the new Drift Mode featured within NFS Shift. As ever graphics of this build were improving though I can’t help but wish the frame rate was slightly smoother, however the on-screen action is stunning and always improving making every hands-on a pleasure.

Moving into the briefing, Shift Game Producerr Suzy Wallace demonstrated current progress within the titles development, the newly released Profile modes shown at E3 along with upgrades to the HUD and of course the days big announcement, that being the inclusion of Drift Mode.

Ps:Thanks Alan 👍, no account on NeoGaf, otherwise I would have thanked you there for the story ;)

The drifting mode looks awesome and heaps of fun.👍

I noticed at the end it won't be a world wide release, it'll be spanned across September, no mention of the Australian release.

Wow. I am getting this game. It just looks too good to pass up. Unless the demo proves it to be utter garbage then come then this will make the wait for GT5 much easier.

meh full of crap. he is drifting w/ a controller and not a steering wheel -_-. its all marketing BS /captain obvious. Still, the drifting should be pretty good and realistic because of the people working on the game...

And? Last I checked, a lot of people were also drifting in Forza & GT with a controller. Guess they're full of crap, too.

he's saying as a driver that he gave input. its a much different feeling to drift with a steering wheel than a controller.

He is still driving the car though. Hence the term controller.

I like the smoke in the drift screens, it's the first game I've seen that has decent amounts of smoke billowing from the tyres during a huge drift run.

I think that guy does not know how to drive. And 3rd person camera can't be a good judge of anything physics related. Also notice this is E3 footage, so it is not Pro physics mode either ;)

Don't you guys think that BMW dances a bit too much when accelerating and braking?

The reason its so jumpy is because: 1. All NFS games are like that, and certainly this one which is a bit of a dissapointment. 2. The frame rate is terrible at its current state, but it will be, guaranteed, fixed before the game releases.:sly:

Since it's in the arcade mode, I'm sure there's a bit of exeggeration in the physics. You're able to tune the car quite extensively in the final game. The framerate is 30 fps for the consoles. I'm pretty sure that the PC version is limited by the power you gfx can deliver. Personally, I wouldn't lump SHIFT with the rest of NFS game except for Porsche Unleashed which incidentally was the last NFS game I ever played or bought.
