Well - if they can get done in months what Gran Turismo gets done in years.. I'll be impressed. lol

Perhaps on the physics and handling of the car. But compared to GT5, SHIFT will only have a fraction of the cars and tracks although there's no denying they're pretty amazing list. What would be great comparison is the Nordschliefe which will be in SHIFT but will it even approach the level PD achieved with GT4. I will definitely pick up SHIFT which has been on must buy list since the day it was announced but it's just to hold me over until the day GT5 is released.

Nah - its the wrong shape and the ripple strip is the wrong colour and shape. Also the Castle is a lot further from the track IIRC.

I wouldn't have thought the castle was on such a rise either. So what we have is a cheap wanna-be nürburgring?

Yup I don´t think the picture shows nordschleife. I take quality over quantity of cars anyway so it doesn´t say to much of a quality of a title if it has 800 or 40 cars. 40 cars is plenty.

I suppose this is old news but according to some interview at drivingitalia we will have no changing weather at all. No tire wear so that explains why there is no pit stops. I think that is a bit of a let down since they take all the strategy out of the game. Now you are free to push like crazy don´t have to take care of your tires. More static racing weither with real people or the AI. I would die for changeable weather but well surely I have other more hardcore simulations that gives me that :)

I don´t have it on preorder tends to get expensive but 110 % certainly will get it. I like the track list. A lot of new fresh tracks instead of just the old european GP tracks I have run to death already. Nice car list too.

Luckily you don't have to think anything, if Berca76 says it's some other track then it is some other track.:sly:

I believe it´s due to making it easier for the arcade crowd not having to deal with tires deflating or messing up pit stops :)

For me, I'm fine with no pit stops. With realistic physics and that awesome car and track lists, I'm satisfied. :dopey:

Why do you assume it's the Nurburgring because of a castle? Do you not remember that there are 9 fantasy tracks in this game as well?

Nope, sure don't. All I remember is that there aren't any Holdens.

Not since Pro street, since Blimey!Games (now Slightly Mad Studios) finished their work on GTR2 (september 06) for SimBin. Game engine is not developped by EA Black Box anymore ;)

Oh Really? :dunce:

I only said that they'd be fine tuning the game engine, not who was making it, and I knew that Slightly Mad Studios were working on it.

If the Nordschleife is in, I doupt it'd be very accurate.

blimey have done good tracks before. But yes I doubt it will beat GTR Evos nordschleife but who knows :).

btw do anyone know what this 24H endurance mode is that you get if you preorder? Is it supposed to be available as DLC later on?

Good question. I would love to know more about this. I'm curious to see how a game with very few simulation aspects (besides the physics, obviously) will be able to pull off endurance racing.

;)

A very short view of Eau Rouge in this clip from an EA media event in France.

& Berca is this you or Tjech co worker at SMS :)

Those shots aren't new kikie, we've had then a few times before, and  at the Koeniggsegg at Spa.:)

The screenshots look very nice.

It's fascinating how many different approaches there are to racing sim graphics, from the somewhat artificial, "game-environment" look of Forza (which seems to have been perfected with FM3), to the very realistic, but sterile look of GT5P, to the arcadey, colourful look of Ferrari Challenge, to the gritty, but "soft-focus" look of Grid & Shift. As I've said in another thread, I admire the look of F1CE, because it provides a pretty real, atmospheric environment without (I would imagine) having spent a huge amount of time & money on overly fussy graphic detail.

I removed the screenshots which have been posted before. :D

AFAIK, the screenshots that I didn't remove are new.

They're not new, though, as Paulie said. I've seen those among a few new-to-me shots on an Italian NFS forum.
