Can somebody explain this whole pre-order bonus nonsense to me? Will the Caterham be in, no matter which edition of the game I'll buy?

Says you have to get the Speed Pack Edition.

However, I imagine they'll let you get every pack via DLC, so one of them is free for you to choose from.

Those 3 pre-order offers are just a slighty advantage for you, I believe that those cars will be available in game too just without the mods.

I thought the bonus packs just gave you early online access, a couple mods and an exclusive livery. If that's not the case then EA/Criterion are going to be facing a lot of backlash on release day.

I assume that as well. But the post on their facebook page makes me somewhat confused:
The Power Pack, Strike Pack and Speed Pack contain all kinds of cars and mods to help beat your friends: http://bit.ly/PO3Pack

Anyway, I found an interesting interview with Matt at Gamescom, three minutes in. No visual but only gameplay customization, bigger than Burnout Paradise, 50+ cars and stuff that you might have heard before. Looking forward to play this!

Sounds like the packs are just early unlocks for multiplayer, the Caterham will be in the game regardless of when, where and how you buy it.

Still, I find EA are quite good at making preorders tempting, I suppose in this case it's probably more because I loved Burnout Paradise and always wished it was with real cars but goodness me I'm thinking about preordering on Origin. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to resist buying it before it gets any cheaper, so why not I guess, I have a lot of faith in Criterion (even though I'm sure this won't have a cockpit view...). I just hope this time the PC players aren't shafted when it comes to big DLC down the line; we never got the Island for Paradise. To be fair though I already played it to death on PS3 and picked it up on PC for £5, so I can't complain I guess.

Anyone else excited for an epic PS Vita game? I know I am! Thanks for the news guys & also the reason why it's not called BP2 is because they promised a NFS. Honestly, I agree with most of you that it should be called BP2 because it technically is. Those complaining that it's not called BP2 & that's why your not buying it... Seriously? Honestly, I think this is epic. BP with Licensed cars= Must Buy!!! But honestly buying for both PS Vita & PS3 because I need a good Vita game to play.

OMG, It looks amazing! Also, it was saying in this trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDMpPHD88Ik That from Vita you can earn SP's. (Speedpoints) Also guys he showed around 5minutes into the video, there is no cockpit view. By now, it is pretty much confirmed, he switched through back to 3rd person. Anyway, game is probably about done with development because release day is only 2months away. Right now it's just a "Get people pumped"

Impressive footage from PS3 at Gamescom.
Pay attention at 0:47 and you will see him go through some kind of gas station and his car colour changes, 1:30 spikestrips works wonderful in this game.

Looks like there is going to be paint, boost and repair drive-throughs as there were in Paradise. Also, did anyone else notice that the Q1 kept up with the higher performing cars? This might mean that you can upgrade your cars to compete with the higher performing sports, super and hyper cars like in the original MW.

What I like so far is that people actually have to meet at the location before the game triggers the start of the race, and how people can freely move around during the countdown. This lets people go their own way and it also prevents people from being immediately checked in the beginning like BP races.

What sucks is the severely downplayed damage modeling.

NFS is a 3rd person view game for me anyway. Actually I do prefer to play many racing games that way.

Yes the speedpoints you earn on different versions of the game count to your grand total.

Now for some real moving footage of the vita version please.

Glad to see the PS3 version running smoothly. But is it just me or is the damage dumbed down on the PS3 version?

To be honest I might stick with Forza Horizon. This looks great in some spots, like graphics and such but The Driving is just going to worry me. I played the original MW and the physics were terrifyingly bad. It felt like an episode of I road Truckers or some stupid **** like that.

Don't decide just yet, I believe that they said at E3 that they were going to release a single player and multiplayer demo. If they do play it and decide after that.

If it plays like Hot Pursuit from 2 years ago, then I am sold.
It will be similar but as we have pointed out many times, this is pretty much Burnout Paradise 2. Almost identical to Burnout Paradise in a good way. That game was very successful and very fun.

I liked Paradise too. Actually, I think Paradise and Hot Pursuit nail the arcade racing perfectly. Beautifull graphics. Lot's of things to do.

I have decided to get the Vita version. Unsure about the ps3 version.

The rule is, that if I am unsure buying something, I will get it. #firstworldproblems

If cross play is supported for Most Wanted, you might as well get the PS3 version and get the Vita version free. I don't have a Vita and I probably won't get one for a very long time (I still don't even have a PSP) but knowing I have a free copy of Most Wanted to play if I do get one is quite nice. :D

I don't understand why you feel like this, in the original most wanted you couldn't drive cop cars except in some specific time events on the challenge series.

It's mostly for the online play is what I was hoping for, I know I wouldn't be able to drive them in single player.

You are mixing up Cross play with Cross buy. Need for speed Most Wanted has neither.

I did say "if". It's not confirmed if Most Wanted will support it yet.

I did mix up Cross Play and Cross Buy though. My bad. :dunce:

EA is a money making company. I will be suprised if they support Cross Buy. We'll see.

I rather see a full featured version of the vita version for which I have to pay in addition to the ps3 version.

^ I do agree that EA is a money making company but once in a while they are generous. They gave quite a bit of free content away with Burnout Paradise. Plus look at the insane amount of free content with Mass Effect 3. So maybe they will be generous again with Burnout Paradise 2/ Most Wanted 2012.

On one hand, it's a Criterion game and BP made an amazing impression on post-launch support. (The year of Paradise indeed.) Even the PC version of HP2010 got the 3 free convertibles eventually.

On the other hand, Criterion is apparently the main NFS developer now and I worry EA will force them to churn out 2013's entry so they don't get the freedom to make awesomeness.

Anyways, Vita version looks alright though there's no chance I'll ever play it.

For the 'main' versions, it's good to see the driver's hands moving about though I can't see if the wheel itself is turning. (Graphical shortcut from HP2 (PS2) and sandbox games like GTA.)

The low speed physics (all the 180s) remind me more of MW than HP2010. Very good in other words.

Crash damage looks better than HP2010's, though (so far) not quite as good as Shift's or any recent BB NFS for that matter.

Sad to see that not a lot (alot?) of gameplay footage has trickled out from GamesCom (yet anyway). The next expo I know of confirmed with MW is Eurogamer's at the end of September.

Also still wondering how the Evoque fits into all this....

It looks like the car list is aiming for the interesting rather than the expected whereas the original's was relatively ordinary.
