What I'm liking from that article:

-Webster said straight up it's a different engine used than Hot Pursuit. It was obvious but now no one can argue otherwise any longer. I liked the tone in his response too; feels so appropriate.
-No Frostbite 2: not as pretty but 30fps will definitely reduce lag.
-Size of the map and what they focused more on. Will definitely be parking in more parking garages when doing challenges from now on.

What I'm not liking:

-toned down wet-road physics.

damn I should have went to the Gamecom 2012. After all it's only an hour drive from my place.

I am not sure if you really would want full physics on wet roads. How's it done is HP is quite good to my likings.

I'm fine with this as well. It would definitely make things more interesting.

What would make it even MORE interesting is if they also had snow when it was winter time in your region. From there, people can create lobbies and if they happen to find someone who's in the opposite season, wouldn't that be interesting to play through? I mean, who's to say non-rally games have the be the tarmac-only games?

I cant remember if Burnout Paradise was 30fps or 60fps. It sure felt like it was 60fps. That game ran so dang smooth. I never had a single issue ever with Burnout Paradise. So if MW2012 runs as smooth as that, then I will be happy.

BP was locked at 60 FPS, so the game will feel slower than BP. But in terms of FPS it should feel the same as Shift 2. Thats a good thing.

I think 30 fps will be smooth enough as long as there are no severe framedrops, both in length and amplitude.

I think the season idea is nice for next gen. Weather is something not shown really good, except for Codies F1 games.

Bummer because Shift 2 doesnt really run that smooth. I knew they would have to sacrifice something to get 12 players into the multiplayer at the same time. Personally I think 8 would have been fine. It was hard enough to get 8 players together for the 8 player co-op challengs. 12 player challenges are going to be almost impossible unless you do it within the first week or 2. 8 really would have been perfect especially on the 360 with the 8 player party chat. 12 will be a pain. Bummer its only going to be 30fps. Burnout Paradise ran so dang smooth at 60fps.

I just hope when you guys do challenges, you read all of the instructions and think about the quickest way to accomplish it.

It always bugged me to no end when people drove down 2 blocks to build speed to "jump over other players" when they only needed about 3 seconds of boosting timeto get enough speed.

Just tell everyone to learn the map of the game first, then do challenges. I'll be doing it, as I feel I'll be at this game for a long time.

Sorry If I missed it, but don't think I have seen any. Does anyone know when PS Vita gameplay is coming out? and is this going to be a Cross buy? 2 things, really need a answer thanks for keeping this up to date AOS and darron200cook

If the game is as good as Criterion says on the Vita, I am happy to pay for it. I mean I have payed enough money for worthless titles in the past.

If Criterion deservers the money, they can have mine.

Cross buy may help Vita sales but someone has to bear the potential cost.

With all the added stuff on screen and the much elevated PC specs needed, it'll be quite an achievement that consoles can output a steady 30fps (compared to HP2010).

There's really efficient code at work or perhaps a switch to FXAA or worse, a resolution drop.

If the licensing at the end of that post-e3 trailer I posted a while back did indeed reveal Jaguar, Lancia, Range Rover, BAC etc, we are still looking at around 8 more cars with no clue what they can be.

Extreme variations like the Sesto Elemento or Vented-Door J? The comeback of Mazda or Cadillac? (New CTS-V in World.)

As I think the FD RX7 is most common, almost mechanically identical car in the entire NFS universe, it would sure make a nifty starter car.

(Series 6, US spec 'Base' model in the first and some bizarre 'Touring' (or maybe PE)/'R1' or 'R2' mix in every 'main' recent NFS but Run (series 8 RZ) and HP2010.)

(Supra was not the turbo in UG 1/2 so it loses counts.)

P.S. Could that Lancia be the Stratos? They need to model it from stratch though.

I really hope the RX7 FD is in there. Doubt it though. I only see Subaru (hurray) and Toyota/Lexus as Japanese brands.

Well, it will then be the 1st Mazda-less NFS in 10 years. (Sadly.)

Mitsubishi may be in based on the license thing and the UK FQ400 would be a good match for the Scoobie. Seems weird to have one but not the other too.

Wonder what Toyotas will be in too. Worst case is that we only see the Toyota brand due to its relationship with Lexus and not a single one of its cars.

So far, apart from the Utility vehicles, even the slowest car confirmed will 1/4 mile in less than 13.5 seconds at more than 160 km/h. This makes the choice and selection of a starter car a fairly tricky one.

(HP2010 gave us the Boxster Spyder though, the quickest car in its tier.)

So far, officially, it seems a choice of the fast Tesla or the faster Scoobie, Challenger or even the Countach as an oddball choice.

The 911 is car I will be using a lot too. I thought the Lexus LFA will be in. Most Wanted is after all about fast cars.

I liked Carbon the best. I wish they would come out with another version of that game. Greta story line and the cars were good. I could play that game for hours.

If there happens to be actual Toyotas in the game, my guess will be either a Corolla or Supra. Perhaps they'll surprise me with an 86 appearing in the game (good for Sports category).

I doubt there will be a 86 (AE or GT) in the game. I think it doesn't fit within the range of already know cars.

But I will be happily suprised if it is in there.

We're on about the Toyota/Scion 86.

Yeah, the problem is the minimal performance range of the cars (utilities exempted) being fairly high at the moment.

This NFS could be the one with the fastest starter cars and I can't wait for some game journo to describe them as 'lame' simply due to their relative slowness.

(Other examples include idiots calling a RX7 junk simply for being the slowest car in the first NFS. 1/4 mile in 14s = junk!?)

Well, the original MW had the IS300 as a starter choice and that was midrange in UG 2.

Thus the current car list represents another 'performance leap'.

I remember the original Need for Speed featured the RX7. It was my first encounter with the FD model. Loved it ever since. It's sexual.
