Anyone else excited for the 12 player co-op objectives? (post #411) Burnout Paradise had 8 player co-op but wow 12 players doing co-op objectives will be insane. Could be a pain too.

Yes, very. 12 person challenges(if any) are going to be impossible without people you know or people that are willing to do them.

What kind of co-op objectives did Burnout Paradise have?
About 350 different kinds. There were 2, 3 ,4 ,5, 6, 7 and 8 player co-op objectives. One example is shown in the Most Wanted multiplayer teaser video. And that shows 12 players. Line up a certain amount of cars and then the last car jumps over all of them. The co-op modes in Burnout Paradise were VERY fun. Other examples included having all the players jump through a billboard or jump a bridge backward, or drift at the same time, powerpark between cars, do donuts, drive into oncoming traffic, or complete a certain jump a set amount of times. They were incredibly fun. ANd yes required 100% teamwork. If 1 person did not cooperate, the objective would never be completed. So getting 12 players to do it in MW2012 could be a challenge in itself.

Beautiful drift.

I highly doubt there will be a cockpit view. Which is fine since this is 100% arcade racer. As beautiful as Burnout Paradise was, I am sure this will also be stunning. Hot Pursuit also looked very good. (also made by Criterion)

I know that but from what I heard HP was supposed to have it but they didn't included it because they didn't had time.

12-Player Co-Op Challenges? Oh boy, I'm in for a long ride to get that Platinum.

Also, here's what the Most Wanted Gamescom booth will look like. Sorry it's small.

Will keep me playing longer, but it will also mean more frustration because that means I'm going to encounter more dummies who can't read instructions or learn from mistakes.

Landing (X) air time to jumping over (X) Jump (X) times cooperative or individual.

One I hated the most was getting Aerial Near Misses, because people would never time themselves correctly.

Off Topic: I never got round to finishing that one, I tried it once in an open lobby two years ago where all the players were probably newbies and taking each other out in mid-air instead of doing what the ticker said, I eventually just gave up on them and left. (Thats a reason why I'll never join open lobbys in BP again.) On Topic: I guess the overall difficulty of the challenges in MW will depend on the skill of the players in the lobby. If you've got skilled players who know the map well, challenges shouldn't be a big deal.

^True. I never got down to completing any of BP's online challenges as a result. (PS3)

Reminding me of BP, if Criterion hides the unlockable cars here as well as they hid smashes and billboards there, there could be a fair amount of single-player time. If not, at least it's possible to find a fast ride in less than 10 minutes!

EA just updated the official site and I see a Gallardo Spyder Performante and a Focus RS. Not sure how to directly link those pictures though.

That silver 991 still has the standard wheels. Assuming that there has not been a mistake by marketing in the LE ads or that pic itself, it could mean that optional manufacturer wheel designs are in.

Holy crap, anyone heard the engine sounds for the cars at the Gamescom press conference?

To me, this is a serious competitor for Forza Horizon.

Does this have cockpit view? The last I saw of this they were knocking down lamposts like matchsticks. Kinda turned me off it.

NFS doesn't have cockpits but Forza Horizon does. I'm leaning more for Forza for it's IBL and 200 car count, but I might get NFS for Christmas or something.

I ain't watching, can't on the PS3. Any sign of the BMW M3 GTR or Cross' C6 Vette??

Saw neither of those unfourtanetly, the game preview ended rather quickly. All I saw was a Lexus LFA, C6 Corvette, and a Maserati.

Cheers sponge.

Damn there's too many good games coming at the end of the year. Lots of competition.

X-Com being on my Radar the most.

At this point I am leaning much closer to Most Wanted 2012 than Forza Horizon. Especially since MW2012 is a lot like Burnout Paradise.

As much as I like the Forza series, I dont have any interrest in Forza Horizon. For what Horizon is trying to do, I think TDU 2 beats it but we will see. But at this point I only planned to rent Horizon and probably buy Most Wanted 2012.

TDU 2?

Shouden was raving about the physics on that one.

That alone was enough for me to pass on it.

So for you NFS is only good if it was cockpits and more than 200cars? If it was a simulation I would agree but it isn't and why the passion for thousands of cars when you only use +/- 50 of them?

I still don't know why this bugs you to no end. I know it's not realistic, but this game attracts more video game driving beginners so dumbing down the amount of obstacles is totally needed for Criterion's fast-pace driving. You should know how a lot of people stop trying to get into something new if they keep screwing up (i.e. crashing), so having thousands of non-destructible lamp posts doesn't help the case, especially when dodging traffic.

I should have put TDU1 / TDU2. But anyway I used that as an example of what Forza Horizon is trying to copy. And from what I have seen of Horizon, they are not even close to the TDU1 / TDU2 games. Again we will see.

My Forza 4 garage contains 434 cars that I use very often for races and Playground games, and to be honest Forza Horizon will probably have better physics. I'm not saying NFS is bad, but I think it's the history that counts.

AOS-

Doubt I'll pick this up anyway. Doesn't bug me no end though. Just seems odd to provide a real world scenario which is just basically cardboard cut out. Seems a wasted opportunity.

The issue I have with those games was with using a wheel. Wasn't very good.

As for horizon. Who knows?

Exactly what I was about to say. Burnout Paradise 2 with 12 cars instead of 8. This might actually be a purchase for me. Also keep in mind Burnout Paradise got quite a bit of free dlc. 👍
