In all honesty, even with 40 cars, I bet only around 16 of them will be driven the most a year later. There were over 100 cars in Burnout Paradise and when you go online, you're seeing the same 12 vehicles being driven half the time.

I've got a feeling that there will be car-adding (or activating) DLC ala HP2010 and Run. So far it seems we are lucky that all the pre-order bonuses are only early unlocks unlike the completely exclusive cars in those 2 titles.

I also think that most convertible/roadster/volante/whatever variations from HP2010 have been axed. Perhaps (somewhat) obsolete models like the non-R CCX, Agera, non-SV/Superleggera Lambos and the like have been axed too.

Thus, only the best performing models are included and the overall car count is less. In HP2010, I mostly used the theoretically best performing model of each car anyway.

What's up everyone? I'm new here, although I've been a long time lurker. Anyway just wanted to say I'm looking foward to the new Most Wanted. Looks like it's going to be a fun game.

Um...Why? This is an open world NFS game, I'd rather be roaming around in a nice handful of supercars than loads of 1980s Ford Fiestas.

Even Hot Pursuit 3 had more cars, and look at the new Forza Horizon open world game. 200 cars...

I just found out that Most Wanted 2012 will have an online 8 player co-op mode just like Burnout paradise had. 8 players have to interact at the same time to complete objectives. I didnt care for the first Most Wanted but Since this is being made by Criterion it could end up being very good.

If its anything like Burnout Paradise, there should be plenty of DLC, and the majority of BP's DLC was pretty good value, so I hope this is the same.

You didn't know about Ferrari not getting involved NFS anymore? Last Ferrari in any NFS game IIRC was Hot Pursuit 2 (2002).
Wrong, last time NFS had Ferrari's was on NFS Shift but only available for Xbox 360.

The weird part is that if Ferrari was against unlawful driving in racing games, what are they doing in the recent Test Drive Unlimited 2?

There are Ferrari's in Forza Horizon as well. I think it's just because NFS games are popular for having a street racing/breaking the law vibe around them while Test Drive and Forza do not. It might also be because of the takedown system, maybe they don't want their cars looking weak in the game.

multiplayer teaser video
Oh wow that video confirms EXACT what I said about Burnout Paradise and the 8 player co-op challenges. They show the 7 cars lined up with the 8th car jumping everyone. That was one of the EXACT same challenges in Burnout Paradise!! :)

EDIT Whoa wait a minute thats more than 8 cars. Thats actually 12 cars!!!!!!!

I wonder if that 918 is the production model. Racing games like to have world debuts after all.

Mixed about that Bentley though. It's the old Supersports convertible. So it's neither the best performing (Supersports Coupe) nor the newest 2013 Continental Speed. Same with the pre-facelift Boss 302 that isn't the LS model I suppose.

Edit: Maybe the lack of Ferraris is partly due to whichever company has the main license, like the Porsche situation with EA. I remember Eden games saying they could not have Lambos due to a lack of resources for licensing. They said it was either Ferrari or Lamborghini.

^Looks like the production model. Which is exciting. This game looks like so much fun IMO. I know it's been said before, but Burnout Paradise with cops and real cars is amazing! As for that Bentley, I kind of like the idea of the strong, fast, drop-top cruiser that the Bentley should be.

Never liked the drop-top Continental, but that's a small issue. Only thing that's new in there for a Criterion game is the Shelby and Tesla.

I'm willing to bet they can easily import some models from HP3 and call that DLC, unless they had to redo the body work for better damage realism.

It's the old Supersports convertible.

My guess as to which convertible it is, I think it's the Supersports Convertible ISR.

I think I've got proof.

Take a look at the Bentley's hood. I think there's some hint of red on there.

Probably is the ISR in that case, Criterion tends to pick out specific "special" versions of the respective base cars anyway.

The more I think about free-roaming in all sorts of cars, the more excited I get for the social aspect of the game. However, I'm probably going to stop playing once I finish all the challenges unless there are pre-mapped races online as well as custom checkpoint races that weren't as linear as Burnout's.

I'm probably going to create a guide for this as well specifically for challenges any other things most people won't know about, such as reaching certain locations for the challenges. My super long comic for Burnout Paradise challenges received quite the bit of fame to my delight.

Good catch, maybe they chose the convertible so that they can show off opening and closing roofs maybe? (Hopefully, as I would like my Agera with the targa roof on.)

I've been attempting to frame by frame the 918 and there seems to be the extending air intakes but not the spoiler so I'm still baffled.

Anyway, there should be much news and new handi-cam gameplay footage out the next few days.

The 918 is without a doubt the road version. Also, there is nothing special about that Bentley, the picture posted above is what I assume as the sun hitting the hood of the car.

Err.. Not that I want to burst your bubble, but the MC Stradale already looks like that. And the BMW M3 is the GTS which already has the spoiler.

The other versions of MW2012 are getting the spoiler-less 'normal' M3.
