Yeah I'm one of them. It's mostly because they closed the official NFS forum down a few months ago, then everyone scattered to other NFS sites. But then nearly all of the members at the forum I used to frequent started leaving after a misunderstanding with the staff, so now I'm here.

Just watched the Grid 2 developer session. It had also choppy framerate whereas the off screen cams from users are smooth. So my guess it's a thing with the way the dev sessions are recorded.
Yeah, I'm currently watching it and it's pretty much the same thing.

of topic: Hyland, today I managed to buy the hotwheels version of the car in your avatar :D
You lucky...

:dopey: 👍

I never got why they closed down the official forums. The other fansite I lurk and frequently visit is NFSUnlimited. Too bad the franchise completely started losing it with Carbon and the members activity followed with it and never recovered.

Just goes to show how much better GTP is compared to the official NFS forums :P

That goes without saying. Now I just wish there aren't any people here to make stupid complaint threads about the littlest things. *nudge nudge*

Wait... so you don't have a PS3... Yet you are on a site for a game for PS3?

Well if you knew me... You would know that I like clean racing, no cheating and hate when noobs crash into my Reventon (I am going to miss that car :() because they think they need to crash the racer that I just crashed and am busting.... :banghead:

However, I do have a question for you... Why do you write in pink????????????

Could you guys take a look at my ticket thread (first link in signature), I will do ANYTHING for those 3 special tickets I am missing...

P.S: MarcoM your picture makes me hungry

Because there is an option for it and others are typing in various colors so why can't I?

The NFS forums were closed down due to unknown reasons(I think it's because we were speaking the truth) The gamefaqs topic was moving all so slow and finally when the 4C was reveiled I did a google search found this site's massive topic and now you have balance.

I'm still active at NFSUnlimited (under a different name). A few from the official NFS forums have set up camp over there. At least it's doing better than the other English fansites that no longer update.

Btw I recognize acetuner's username from the EA forums, but anyway I'm going off topic now.

I hope this game is actually worth it since nfs has sucked real badly for the past games, especially the run..btw am i the only person who doesn't like police chasing you anymore??

Yes. :)

And NFS: HP was good.

I'm looking forward to trying out the demo. I agree about the drifting point above. I'm not a fan of those kind of physics (I like a more progressive style, I suppose), but I'm willing to give it a try at least.

Only if you understood what the heck drifting was. Those who didn't tend to dislike the game.
Pretty much this, I quite liked HP 2010, it had all the elements of an old school NFS (like III, or High Stakes which was also nice IMO), plus it benefit itself a lot for gorgeous scenarios out of the Frostbite 2 engine, and overall game design copy-pasted from Burnout 3 (which is not a bad, but a great thing as it maintained the game fresh, without making too repetitive like Undercover was, plus it made it a bit unique among NFS games).

I was hesitant with The Run, I haven't played but it doesn't look as entertaining as HP2010. The Most Wanted game however looks rather appealing, people complain a lot about the lack of customization, but I don't see any basis for such criticisms when a large number of games have featured this, since Need for Speed Underground to NFSU 2, Most Wanted, Carbon, Pro Street and Undercover (not to mention it's portable spin-offs for mobile platforms like Need For Speed The World), this is more than enough games that bases their design on pure customization, de-attending some areas in which the guys at Criterion have attended.

And yes, I do like Burnout games, and I did like them until Burnout 3, the crashing parameters in Burnout Revenge did spoil the good record that Burnout games had until that point, didn't had the Chance to play Paradise, only the demo and I would like to see a new burnout game, but I do like the work they have archived with NFS games, and I'm sure I'm going to like this one, but I guess time will tell.

Wasn't a big fan of HP2010's so called "drifting" to be honest. Still excited about this. 👍

Actually, HP 2010 runs on the Chameleon engine. Same with the new Most Wanted as well :)
I see, so that's how the engine was called parting from the partnership between DICE and Criterion games, rendering looks quite similar to the one in BF3, but I never though they made an engine parting from Frostbite 2 (which was my initial assumption), the more you know.
People only complain about customization because the words "Most Wanted" are in the title. If it was something different, they wouldn't.
People were bound to complain anyway because they want Need For speed Underground again, and this is pretty much limited to a handful of fans who have skipped most of the latest NFS games during the last 6 years or so and haven't acknowledge that the concept became pretty wearing.

Just like everything, if it were to be named something else people will still bitching about it because is not NFSU3.

Frostbite 2 was first introduced in The Run, if we're talking NFS titles only.

I loved it to no end. I understand how it works pretty damn well and it makes the playing experience exciting because you can keep an overall high speed throughout the drive. In conjunction with nitrous, you were essentially rewarded more speed if you could blaze through a turn quickly.

Hey im new. I was thinking about getting this but I have a 360 so I'm getting forza horizon instead because it's more my style of game. I like driving cars for the feel and the sound rather than using them as weapons. Plus the car list is about 4 times as big. I might rent this though because it looks fun

Well I'm buying this instead of Horizon... so there :P

I'll probably pick up Horizon eventually. It looks great and I'd buy it day one if Most Wanted wasn't coming out a week after it.

I'm still digging this game a whole alot. My favorite part in NFS Most Wanted are the cars. They're like trouble makers that cost mischief and destruction in the city, for the cops to either arrest or use force.

I kept thinking about wanting to make a story with the cars in the game too. :)

Haha as weapons! You sir are speaking the truth

I always found this to sound rather silly in fictional worlds... if a person causes trouble so often in a city, shouldn't they move to some other city? It's like going to rob a bank one day, and going back again 2 days later.

That is true. After the leader and his/her crew are finished what they needed to do in one city, they must move to another one. The funny thing is, won't they'll be on the run if they're somewhat discovered. lol

That was the case for me (as I absolutely loved the ability to customize your car ''clean'' visually in the original), besides the fact that they were surfing on the 'Most Wanted' name as well. But I never doubted them making a fun and great game with Hot Pursuit in mind, even though I trashed their take on this one at the very beginning due to the divergence from the original title.

At this point, I think they've made a good choice not including it. It just doesn't fit the game at all and would've added nothing special to the gameplay.

And those who are crying after another Underground installment, you've got Carbon and World.
