Yet another shockingly surprising new car reveal:

Honestly I see no drastic differences between the platforms. Unless you have some high grade military super computer that can burn your eyes from your skull with stunning graphics.

Then you can't claim the PC version has the better graphics. I have HP3 on both PC & PS3, the PC version looked worst then the PS3 version. CG is only good at making great awesome CONSOLE games. They lack PC game making skills.

That ad is epic, nuf said.

To clarify on my Charger comment above, my perceived issue is (was?) rather more on the mechanical similarity to the Challenger. Bearing in mind the comment by one of the devs that there would be less car variants (compared to HP2010), it just seems a bit odd to have such a similar car.

(Another possible example would be the lesser possibility of seeing the TT-RS as the A1 is the 5-cylinder concept. Or a LP550-2 Balboni, etc.)

If anything I may even appreciate the added crappiness of the older Charger SRT8 6.1 compared with the much improved current models.:dopey:

On the CG = crappy port thing, apart from HP2010's lack of AA (possibly due to the combination of DX9 and deferred rendering), that seems uncalled for.

And AA can be forced through the AMD/Nvidia control panel and has worked on most of the PCs between my friends and I.

(Of course, whether PC gaming is worth the added hassle and cost is another discussion.)

The only videos we've seen are from the Vita and PC though...they use an xbox 360 controller for the PC.

We've seen a good bit of PS3 footage at this point, if the game footage on Youtube maxes out at 720p then it's likely the console version and probably from PS3 unless something indicates otherwise, 1080p is all PC though unless it's taken from a camera or they're "shrinking" the footage, but yeah the vast majority of it is coming from the PC version which isn't surprising given it was the lead platform and looks better.

Honestly I see no drastic differences between the platforms. Unless you have some high grade military super computer that can burn your eyes from your skull with stunning graphics.

 Holy exaggeration, any decent gaming PC from the last few years with a videocard that supports DX11 will have a version that looks and should run much better. If you can't see the differences then that might be a problem on your end. From the obvious higher resolution the PC version has a number of differences largely thanks to the use of DX11 (especially lighting/reflections) and a big one being it can run at 60FPS or 12 players online versus console's eight. The effects stuff might not be drastic but I bet you if you saw both in person running side by side they'd be a lot more apparent and I'm sure we'll be seeing that not long after the game's release.

You cannot compare this to HP2010 where the PC version was ported from consoles which was its primary problem, the "recommended requirements" are enough to show this with a three year old GPU (at the time) in the 8800GT being the recommended one. It was undoubtedly a bad port but that's something that's plagued PC a bit over the last few years in part thanks to aging console hardware being the lead platform which is also why so many games still only support DX9, it's easier to scale things down than it is to scale up. MW2012's lead platform was PC this time around and it won't be an issue.. Saying a developer "lacks PC game making skills" based off a port of a console game is ridiculous. If the PS3 version is even close that's more a victory on the console end. The PS3 version looks good from what we've seen too.

^One has to define 'sloppy port' though. I could run it maxed out at a stable 60 fps in full HD with forced 2X MSAA on a then 2 year old i7 920 and GTX260 216 SP. And it still is one of the better looking games around.

That seems like a decent porting job to me, a really sloppy console port is more like pre-1.0.0.4 GTA4, Saint's Row 2 and either both Prostreet or and Undercover.

 I probably shouldn't have watched that video (or at least of what I did watch) seeing that in game for the first time would have been much better.

No doubt I know GTAIV was really rough, perhaps calling it a "bad" port isn't the right thing to say maybe more underwhelming, I seem to remember a lot of complaints on it when it came out. When it comes to MW2012 the aesthetic differences aren't that big a deal, the game will play pretty much same on consoles and PC, just obviously look better, run faster/smoother and allow more people online. I think there's plenty of incentive to get that version if you don't have the console friends and don't care about centralized achievements/trophies.

Which people have...
AOS shut your fingers up. Not everyone can afford a $1500 gaming computer that can put the military of their country to shame. I'm tired of your condescending attitude on every site you post.

Off topic warning (sorry!):

Actually, I tried out my friend's TBOGT with the latest patch that was technically similar to the latest 1.0.0.7 of GTA4 and it's actually quite fine for the sheer amount of detail. It's apparently the shadows that killed performance before the later patches.

(He has a 560ti and more system and video ram. Same i7. Also, physics mods + DS3 = awesome.)

I think part of the initial problem was people maxing out the detail settings with their then 'super' Q6600 and 8800GTX. I feel the game turned out actually more future proof than Crysis! (Lacks 64bit support, but works better with more cores. Hmm....)

I believe that if one is familiar with putting PCs together, it's possible to build one that will perform (in games) similar to, or more often better than the current generation console versions for the same price.

(Sure it more hassling and complex and blah, blah YLOD, blah, BSOD, blah, RROD...)

On topic: PC version for me. I doubt CG will mess up the port too badly, if ever. The promise of 1080p60 is just too tempting, even without AA.

At this point, well as the consoles get to the sub-$200 range it might be a little tricky but the console tech is getting close to being decade old tech so it's probably doable but IMO not a good place to start if building a new PC. Going by the apparently system requirements though a four year old PC will still likely be able to run the game to where it looks better than the console version as long as it has a good GPU, which you can buy for less than a new console.

Never played the PC version of GTAIV (I was still rocking a PC from 2003 until last year) but I remember the talk and I do think part of it was probably people treating GTAIV the same way they did the last generation GTA games which weren't exactly monsters in the system requirements department. But at the same time it was undeniably poorly optimized. Also IIRC GTAIV was a largely CPU bound game so all the crap going on, especially the shadows and junk could really take its toll on performance.. I think CPUs from the last couple years have just been able to brute force their way past the issues, better GPUs since then certainly help too.

As for NFS:MW2012 I don't think there's anything to worry about there unless there's bugs that need fixing, the PC version was the lead platform this time around. As much as I'd love to get the PC version I'm sticking with PS3 as I've already mentioned, one part "tradition" (need to get Platinum to go with BP and HP2010) but mainly because that's where the people I know will be. That said, this may be the last generation where a console is my primary gaming platform if Sony and MS go overly cheap with the hardware in the PS4 and next XBox.

*Shrug* Built mine for less than $1,000 last year and could've done it for less if I went with AMD and slightly older hardware but I wanted the most bang for my buck which included a i5 2500k. Don't need a "military computer" or budget that will likely max out most of the settings NFS:MW2012 will have to offer, it'll probably be doable for a lot less. The only thing that might be toned down is AA which at least to me isn't a big deal at 1080p on my screen.

To be fair though, they have done a bit of bullshotting. The "Get Wanted" trailer being a mix of in game and pre-rendered video is a good example of that.

get ready!

I didn't notice it the first time but it's a bit interesting that this only features PS3/Vita at the end. On the other hand, probably doesn't mean anything beyond Sony (along with Ford obviously) working with EA on creating the video.

Not everyone can afford a $1500 gaming computer.

That wasn't the point. If PC can output better video quality, then it will. And if people want that extra kick, then so be it. This had nothing to do with money.

And speak for yourself about condescending attitudes.

Now I have a question: Will you be able to drive the cop cars, like in HP2010?

Remember this isn't a Hot Pursuit title. Those were the games that focused on police events.

A freaking C2 Vette! This game got so much better. Hopefully they will have at least 4 DLCs like:
Muscle Pack
-'69 Charger R/T
-'70 Superbird
-'67 Camaro SS
-'69 Mustang
Tuner Pack
-Skyline R34 or R32
-Corolla AE86
-Supra
-RX7 FD
Exotic Pack
-Lamborghini Diablo SV
-Saleen S7
-SSC Aero
-R390
Tank Pack
-Silverado SS
-Fornasari RR99
-Shelby Durango

Wicken, I don't think the Versa should be counted as part of the roster. It's just a traffic car we get punished with whenever we get busted.

You're right, I only add it when I saw that footage of someone driving it. (At that time I didn't knew that it would be a drivable traffic car when you get busted)
