I'm personally okay when Need For Speed Unbound won't get released onto the Nintendo Switch.

Edit: Need For Speed Nitro on Wii's driving model feels much like Gameloft's Asphalt series while I'm expecting Need For Speed Unbound's driving model is going to be a mixture of Burnout & Motorstorm.

I like the visuals, they fit the whole NFS schtick really well. I'm reserving judgement until I see some more gameplay though...I hated the driving in Heat...it felt like such an unsatisfying mess. There's unrealistic and there's just bad. Heat was both.

This game is supposed to emphasize with hiphop culture right? Why not throw in a few SUVs in there like the Escalade, Aviator or even the Lyriq? Seems like a no brainer honestly.

Copying old stuff from Midnight Club and Forza Horizon might not be the best idea to go forward. I hate(d) them in both series so a bit biased :D

This picture is the vibe I get from all of this.
Some 30-40yo social media manager going "hmmmm this is how the kids talk" - beyond corny, companies shouldn't be trying this hard to seem like they are just like us.

What were some highlights? I can’t scroll down far enough without asking me to make an account :yuck:

If they can make those SUV useful for something it will be a great addition to the game. SUV in Heat was useless and in Payback it isn’t good for off road too.

One small flaw though: that audience doesn't use Twitter.

Also love the super-edgy approach of having a guy up on firearms charges being the face of the game and having his sweary songs in the trailers... but then (uselessly) censoring the sweary titles in the press release.
I thought this too, it made me laugh a bit when they had Rocky and his music featured so heavily in the trailer but then censored his actual voice lines.

They updated the list. The Emira is there now.

They updated the list and removed "Excalibur". Not sure what that means.
Most likely the codename of the game, when I entered the game's Steam page from the NFS website, I saw for less than a second the name Excalibur in the tab bar.

OMG. I hope this is just some promo junk and not really their idea of the collectors edition but I think this will be it.

I like the approach of selling the collectors pieces without a game so you are more free of the gaming platform or can aquire a digital version only. Wouldn't make sense with the digital only consoles nowadays to buy a disc based collectors edition and have to buy the game twice only to have a useless disc. Also makes it way cheaper. The Unbound Kit will be around 30-35 $ like the Heat version (with a car) was available for 50 $. But a racing game collectors edition without a model car? I mean ok Scanavo messed it up in the Heat collectors edition since the model of the Polestar 1 from the Heat cover wasn't very nice and detailed. I don't believe getting rid of any car is a good solution and instead adding a balaclava even it will be available for only 30 $ these are still 30 $ for junk...

Maybe you remember this or knew this but Scanavo had to build a new model for buyers of the Heat collectors edition which buyers could aquire at Scanavo via an invitation email since the model in the sold edition just wasn't good and detailed enough (only painted headlights, rear wing, wheels, no mirrors, grille, etc.).
If you're ever willing to buy a second hand Heat collectors edition or the model, be aware of that. Don't think I ever saw the updated model for sale since surely most people didn't even know they could get a new one for free. Theres also a ebay listing which sold 26 of the old model for 60 $ each  (the whole collectors bundle with the car or as we now know 2 cars, stickers, magnets, a book and steelcase was only 50 $)

Left was the new one with lots of added details to the first try:

Wow, can you still get the second improved version? I have the original and I want to know that.

I always wonder why they need to censor it. I know Forza censor them to keep the rating at "E - Everyone" but NFS Heat already got a "T -Teen" rating for swear words in dialog and probably some violence but they still censored the soundtrack and it doesn't make sense. Swear words on soundtrack is more impactful for rating boards maybe?

Unbound looks to be following with the same censored songs like Heat.

it's ASAP Rocky's Mercedes 190E View attachment 1197891
Honestly, I was going to joke that it's a shame it's ASAP Rocky and not Aesop Rock... but seeing that actually makes me respect the guy a little. Not only does it look sick, but it's surprising to see such a mainstream artist have this kind of taste in cars. Old Mercedeses aren't 'mainstream cool.'

As for the game, this'll probably be the first NFS that I give a chance since the Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted remakes of the teens. Looks interesting enough, and I haven't played a modified-car game in forever.

New snippet.
Customization looks nuts on the Silvia, but will have to see how many other cars get the same level of parts.
Effects are too much for my liking and really hope you can turn them off because they certainly obstruct a gorgeous looking game.
Also it looks like the same B2D model as heat. :(

I don't mind if the handling wise still feels like Burnout.

Indeed. Burnout was a fantastic series, and contrary to what some people would say, I'd say that Burnout Paradise in particular remains one of the best racing games of all-time.
I loved Burnout so much since my childhood.

If they get rid of the weird row of icons at each side when hitting nos, I think it looks okay but I still want my smokes to be white than this weird colours.

I don't know why but NFS having Crown Vic as a playable, customizable car is on point.

The handling looks different than Heat from what I see in that footage, but I don't know.

This game would actually be better in Japan.

With Wangan Midnight and Initial D vibes and anime style.

Now that would be sick!!

Midnight Club 2 and 3 had Tokyo and it was very well made and scaled for the time, especially 2 was nice with Los Angeles, Paris and Tokyo. There are few people not waiting for a Forza Horizon set in Japan. But it has to include Tokyo with many important car related places and some Togues and will be a big task to be acurate and succesful. Don't think we will see it very soon. I don't think Need for Speed can or will get on that task since they never tried to build real cities.

It's still not as cool as Tyler, the Creator's Delta Integrale though!

As for NFS I really like the look of that first animation in the recent Tweet, I'm really hoping these effects can be customised without monetisation.
