Nenkai (X/Twitter): Kaz is cooking

I really don't know what to expect from this update but it feels like the game is pretty stagnant at the moment. I've long completed all the single player content (circuit experiences notwithstanding, I'm not going through every Tokyo expressway track), there's been no new missions added since just after release, the campaign lacked variety as every race was a rolling start, AI isn't nearly difficult enough (I can beat the hardest AI by a good margin using a car 50-70PP under the suggested number). Sport mode hasn't been overly interesting for a while but there's been an occasional fun race here and there, with meta cars taking a lot of the variation away.

I want nothing more than for this game to succeed, but it needs a lot more content put in more regularly than what it is at the moment. I understand that PD put a lot of work into modelling the cars and tracks they put in the game and that will take time (almost a year for every car for example) and we all want high quality content. But adding races with the content they already have would take so much less time and give a lot more to do.

The last time Kaz said big update we got VR, Sophy, and 120 fps.
They were two different updates, the big features were VR/Sophy in February, and 120FPS/the big physics overhaul in March. Then in April it slowed down to regular content updates.

(edited as I got the physics update month wrong)

Imagine anger If Kaz won’t put any news about coming update.

And this can happen even If update is coming, since it could be special and they might promote it in different way.

Yes the update could shift to next month we just dont know yet, we just predict that it will be normal release window witch most of the time is the last thursday of the the month,

On the other hand, I would personally love to see more silly cars like the Cappuccino. One of the big appeals of old GT games was the ability to buy your own car (a Vauxhall Corsa in my case) and build it from an econobox into a track monster.

Either way, whatever car is added, some will be happy, some won't.
[...]

You know, personally I'm tired of seeing the same new supercars or hypercars added to every game, and this is where I think PD shine with their car list. It's good to have a game that doesn't have the highest trim level of everything and also cars you wouldn't normally expect to be in a game like this, hence the Himedic. If you're still upset about them adding an ambulance over whatever vaporware hypercar came out yesterday, then you need to just move on

While I agree with you PD doesn't really care about the cars in Europe that have HP ranging from 200 to 450 PS.
I cannot drive cars like Audi A7, A8, S3, S4, S5, S6, RS3, RS4, RS5 - just to name a few from Audi. Would love to drive the S3 (I bought one recently) in GT7. All these cars are "daily" cars, no supercars or hypercars.

Hopefully when the right time occurs soon, Nenkai will be able to provide an update on the “biggest” update if possible - obviously ensuring not to put too much information too soon.

However we will have to wait and see at this point. Sometimes the waiting game is the best way - for PD seeing this, they may like the speculation and our predictions as it keeps the engagement from our side at least.

Tourist trophy expansion 😈
OMG. I was just going to hope for something like the track editor or Complex String but this . . . THIS!!!

I still have my copy in my cabinet with my other Gran Turismo games. I would take a VF500F Interceptor, 6th gen VFR or ANY VFR on any and all tracks in the game.

In VR.

Excuse me. Gonna need a sock and some private time. #tmi

1) C8R / Mustang GT3
2) New Circuits
3) Sophy and a re-vamp of races with Sophy in mind
4) Smarter penalty system/reporting system. Dirty drivers are rare actually and are almost always the same dudes but they ruin it for everyone. They won't be hard to point out and punish. If you see dirty driving even if you aren't involved you should be able to report it.

I mean, Nenkai themselves stated how this will be the biggest update so far. Let the community dream bigger :)
**"Shaping up to be...", "May or may not be..."

The wording isn't entirely solid IMO, not going to get high hopes. It will be interesting to see what the reasoning would be if it isn't different than a regular update.

Edit: Better context

I just hope people aren't inflating their expectations so much that they'll end up disappointed when it isn't Sophy, B-Spec, or an entirely new career mode. It almost certainly won't be any of those. Still should be a great update though.

If it's more than just 3 cars and a few cafe menus or scapes, it for sure will be the biggest since the PSVR2 update.

Probably won't be anything too major. It might just be pure copium, but damn it, give us a little more than the barest minimum. I have dialed my expectations down significantly, but I keeping my fingers crossed in the hopes that this update will get me invested again.

The PSVR support was a massive update . I think people forget the fact many other devs charge for VR versions of their game and that version is almost always cut down . We got the FULL game .

If it's bigger than that I do expect the following at bare minimum
Seasonal events as a permanent feature
Special events separate from missions , this may be why it's a big update . OR a good chunk of mission races. I don't want mission races because they only pay out once .
5+ cars.

Anything beyond that is pure wishlisting and speculation .

Even I will admit special events are wishlisting but there is really no way to add in more events outside of the tired event format .

Just a bit of fun guessing. One of mind already came true. 3 to 6 cars. There are 4.

Not wanting to fan the wishlist, but a controversial opinion is that the car list is plenty big enough for me. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the new cars when they come and would never say no, but I still think the game needs more events and an engaging way to use the existing tracks and cars.

I have a load of classics I don't use, some funky road cars that I forget I've got as there's no real need for them and there's tracks I barely race on as there's no events for them...

PD need to make this update more about using what they have rather than adding huge amounts more. As Nenkai said in a previous tweet, it's all stuff that should be really easy to implement, compared to tracks and cars etc

No its three. Got confused with the car off to one side.
Again, where's that been confirmed? There's not been anything from any of the official channels about this update yet, as far as I can see - although I am having a day off.

Edit:

we get The Chairman Bao foodtruck this update.

That actually makes me wish that more low-end "average" vehicles would get implemented. One thing I miss from the older games was the ability to take an average ****box like a Honda Odyssey and thrash it around a track.

And I don't think I'm in the minority on this, seeing as the Alphard got a lot of praise when it was implemented.

We could also have a 90’s Ford Transit (or earlier) and recreate a proper old-school cops and robbeRS scenario…
