I'm not a coder and therefore don't understand everything here, sorry. I see reverse engineering. But how can he know that "Kaz is cooking" from reverse engineering?
It's called data mining, people find ways to extract and unpack the games files. With updates, there are files included that are associated with future updates that are incomplete/still in development included in the games files. If you know what you're looking for, you can track the progress of those in development updates as complete updates drop. So once they appear to be ready, it is an assumption that they will be included in the next update or an update soon.

It even looks like we're going to have a new course maker...

I like many tracks created by PDI, but this one I don't think.

wrong translation.

The context "It even looks like"... it may or may not happen
That's the only translation, saying "it looks like...", with or without the "even" at the start, suggests that you've seen evidence it will happen. Based on your response, what you meant to say was that you'd like there to be a new course maker 👍.

@Dave A Yeah, thx, I think I got it now. Before I asked here, just from reading here, I thought he somehow has access to unrealeased code from PD.
I mean that's technically what data mining is. Accessing hidden unreleased code in the game files that is still technically "unreleased" due to not yet being activated. The unreleased code is just out in the wild (but access controlled) instead of in PD's servers but its the same concept.

Of course being PD we could never know what it and what isn´t until it´s released (if ever) but that pic of the tunnel makes me think.... could we drive upside down ?
I mean... we drove on the Moon .... why couldn´t we drive in the most crazy way in GT7?

There is that, but also accessing the databases and XML files, there's a lot of non-code information there as well.

I always kind of find it interesting people call that data mining. To me it's more like being a researcher and trying to understand how the game works. Which I praise people that do that, even if they may be occasionally wrong about official content, as it paves way for mod support when official game support ends thus lengthening the title's life indefinitely.

They are digging in to the data to find this out. A synonym for digging is mining...

What you've described is literally still data mining.

Thx guys! I just found this:

Indeed, @HarVee Isn't completely wrong, it's just the use of mining in this context means researching and analysing the data that they find.

Every VGT released after GT6 has a cockpit with the exception of the GT3 Peugeot which is just the regular VGT with a wing.

Thus most VGT's have interiors.
