I would have much prefered an RJN red/black, the yellow or the red/white livery 370z race cars than that GT-R and BRZ. Even the Falken racing livery 370z. I'd love to see those in a DLC just for a sake of change. The models are already in the game so they can easily build those for free. Just have to let the rims be wider like on the racecar to make it faithful to the real thing. And since every DLC has to have a GTR lol put in the RJN GTR too.

After looking at the pics some more I'll probably buy the HSV as its totally new model not based on an already existing model like the GTR etc. I wont buy the rest.

They gave the Scion FRS away but they're gonna make us pay for the BRZ, wtf how many of the same car do we need, I probably won't be buying any of them. I'm guessing GT6 is going to be the same as GT5 with cars, 1000 cars with different names, 400 actual different models, a eu, j, and american version do NOT count as three cars.:banghead:

Well the problem here is beyond what you all think about PD and their decisions...i was talking with some mates the other day about PD´s decisions about cars and all.

First of all we can say that the game was currently made for the Japanese market at first (when series started) and then it became more popular around the globe.
That and add that this game is based in the car market too, and they put cars that people actually buys or have/had. Again that comes to Japanese market not Global market.

The "problem" now comes with other point of view in my case based just in pure marketing strategy.

Now let´s take a look at numbers about GT5 sales, right?

Units sold untill November 2011:

-World: 7.430.000 total.
-Japan: 640.000
-United States (North America): 1.940.000
-Asia: 260.000
-Europe: 4.590.000

Now PD/Sony may think about that as a problem or as a solution while having to make decision about their game talking about content.

By the numbers we can see 2 possible solutions:

1- PD wants to recover or gain Asian and Japanese market based at their "poor" sales all together compared even against North America, and that means that they need to put more Japanese/Asian cars in the game or keep the amount just to see if they are going to gain more sales...which i think not because their market is based in fantasy and MMO games mostly and not the overall racing genre.

In Japan people works 12 hours a day then drive to their homes, and imagine after all that, go to your home and play a racing game...lol...they don´t even play that much on PC´s because of that. That´s why the market is based on consoles like PS and Wii. Sit and relax formula.

Now that can be bad for the major market which is us North America an Europe (where i live)

2- PD probably after take a look at the numbers could take notice of the majority for once and for the future, called GRAN TURISMO 6 , could make the best decision in their life which is going to make sales going better than it was here at their biggest consumer market.

They should focus more in "us", in what we want, if they want to keep customers happy...as simple as that from a marketing point of view.

How can they do that? Easy a new car list from scratch (as i think they are doing for the next game) having in consideration not just GTPlanet...their own sales.

Remember that we are not going to see (probably and hope) standard cars again and most probably that amount of "repetitive" cars again...but also they need to keep a great amount of Japanese cars because they probably want to rise their sales in "their own" market which is Japan and Asia.

My guess is that PD is between the wall and the sword...but the options are there...you can win more costumers in both sides of the fence by adding what they want because the Japanese market after all had their beloved cars but us...REAL DEAL CUSTOMERS don´t.

As simple as that...stop thinking as they add cars because they just want...there are reasons but GT5 could be the last "Japanese Gran Turismo" and GT6 should be the more global one.

Then comes features...but we are talking about cars...what we need and like the most...i like Japanese cars but we have enough of them...make the right choice....select the ones that you know we like and then expand that for the North America and Europe market cars that we all need.

Peace out.

They should just call the next title GTR instead of GT6 lol. I like the GTR btw it's just over done. It's like a song on constant rotation on the radio, you get tired of no matter how good it is.

LOL! True! It's like the new civic except its only affordable for 10% of the population. We need classic tracks or real world circuits, something that adds replay ability.

I agree getting tired of gt5 with the cars ATM 1000 cars but only 40 different cars the rest are just renamed these cars are real but hell if you had crazy money you wouldn't buy 8 versions of the same car would you.

I wont buy any of them, even though that the HSV looks great and it is very temping...I don't want to give another cent to PD, honestly I am fed up with PD's BS.

What BS?

We want DLC, we get DLC, "it sucks" because "we pay for cars we don't want".

We get separate DLC cars, but it's still wrong?

I just don't want any of them, why would I pay for a BRZ when I already have two of them just with different names, I don't want another GTR, I have enough race cars already and I don't even use them.

You wouldn't pay for the HSV-10?

Ditto!

I don't believe in DLC but about 2 months ago I finally gave in a bought the Motegi DLC. We always wanted a shorter oval track to run on and I spent the money despite the sub-par graphics. Motegi was $5 and was released June 27th. When racing online the track doesn't pay out credits or xp so most of the time nobody races at Motegi. This is the type of bug that should have been fixed immediately as DLC's should be priority if they want to sell more DLCs.

What's more frustrating is that the release notes make no mention of fixing this bug. A bug that should have been caught easily had they beta tested online. This is also the 2nd time this year a release has failed to pay credits when racing online.

I'm pretty sure they will fix the issue but it's too little too late in my eyes. PD will not get any more easy money from me. Too bad for PD as the HSV is really sweet looking.

I don't think I like the way they're releasing this DLC (i.e. 3 cars available for purchase individually).

Plus, I've got only a few dollars, so I think I can only buy one of them, and it's probably the HSV... :indiff:

It's the only one that worth some money.
You already have a Schulze GT-R a Scion and a Toyota 86.

The GT3 GT-R should be added to the game as well. Keep the original rad-black colors to default but let people paint it and change number and wheels like an RM car.

Its not confusing what he is saying yeah i can remember people wanting to pay for cars seperatley but these cars are fliping crap ****
Apart from the hsv which i will buy, even though now we can pay separate for cars there is only one car that is worth it's own price I think DLC should just stop now it's making people think pd are rubbish when they are actually really great

I don't understand it either.

Complaints about DLC taking too long to come out. Then, it gets announced and complaints about it being "the same cars we have already".

Pretty certain some people are complaining just to complain.

I'm sure this discussion happened last time. Just because people are desperate for DLC doesn't mean they have to automatically jump for joy when DLC arrives if they don't like it.

Some people get too frustrated though. The only car I want in this batch of DLC is the BRZ. I'll still buy the GT-R and HSV although I hardly ever will use them. Why? Because they are cheap and I think I can afford them now that I could afford a PS3 and this game. People who simply refuse to buy the DLC just shouldn't. Criticism is ok but it's odd to blame PD for the DLC. It's their game, not ours!

Maybe PD could avoid this altogether, and have no DLC or support, because that's the only thing I'm getting from all these complaints. 💡

Erm, who else is to blame? Michael Bolton? It may be their game but we're the ones buying it so we're free to criticise them.

They could avoid this quite simply by putting out better DLC. I mean what else do you expect, the facts are that this DLC contains only 3 cars, one of them is an update to a race car we were given for free a few updates ago and the other is a rebadge with a few minor tweaks to two cars we already have, again for free.

Did PD really expect the community to start doing cartwheels about it?

As I said, criticism is ok as it basically is feedback. However, when you blame PD you kind of leave the impression they owe you the DLC you want which is kind of absurd. This is not even a car pack so we're are really free to buy what we want and avoid what we don't.

What's with all this "it was free before" business? Did my theory, which was probably right (think about it), just fly over people's heads? :indiff:

I never said they owe me anything but I can't fathom who else you would blame for poor DLC?

Why was it probably right? Because you work for PD? You know someone that does? Thought not.
