That's not why Forza has such a large fanbase. It's certainly influenced newcomers, but that's far from the largest intake to it's resultant fanbase.

This is of course assuming games the likes of Race Pro, PGR (3 and 4), NFS Shift (1 and 2), TDU (1 and 2) and several other games I can think of off the top of my head didn't have attractive DLC options as well I presume?

I think you're making this a lot more complicated than you need to. Either that or don't quite get what blame is.

Product not very good = company producing it (usually) at fault, ergo they're the one to blame for the poor product.

That's business my friend. If a competitor (even not a direct one) is doing something significantly better your customers are naturally going to wonder why you aren't.

Still even if you do pretend the other game doesn't exist people are still going to get confused and bewildered by the GT5 DLC, mainly for it's complete inconsistency but still for it's content. Even if there isn't another game putting out 10 varied cars a month this game has "1000" cars already and they're adding just three more, two of them 90% the same as two already in the game. You don't need better competition to consider that weak.

But to their credit, they corrected it quite soon and since that is seemingly quick to do, it begs the question why they don't do it to the other cars with incorrect specs but that's another discussion I guess.

I don't think the current DLC should be free (it would be nice though) but I do agree about no DLC. The less DLC the better. Better for the consumers mostly, especially since most of today's DLC is just a ripoff anyway.

Forza is doing a great job adding some new cars and classic cars in their game. PD could do the same too, but better to do that in GT6.

Tracks are more important and different variations as well. Like SPA with 2 version of bus stop chicane and obviously different variant should not be paid DLC. I am against DLC. I think it is a foolish thing to do. TBH I had rather wait for complete edition rather than purchasing all the DLC which would be same price. lol.

DLC purpose is to keep the game refreshing and keeping the player interested in game and there are better ways of doing it rather than paying 100$ for a game

Yeah they have. I can honestly say that the only thing I can't stand about Forza is the physics. If Forza had GT5's physics (while driving I must specify) i would be playing it. But both games are not perfect in every aspect. Like i had a discussion in the "FM4 vs. GT5 comparison" thread and even if was proving that GT5 doesn't simulate everything correctly. But what i saw was when racing and drifting it GT5 had the best hand in it. But yes Forza has had a great reputation for providing a amazing amount of DLC and the DLC has been great.

GT5's DLC even though lacking the amount of that Forza has put out i am not complaining.

The Nissan-PD relationship is really hurting the series. PD being forced to advertise and model almost every Nissan out there takes alot of development time they could use to add cars the fanbase wants...

No DLC so far without a Nissan...

I started to hate Nissan thanks to GT5. I will definitly never pay a single cent for any Nissan/Infinity/Renault car...

Clearly, Gran Turismo 5 is lacking in the Skyline department. However, adding only one new skyline is quite frankly, a piss poor attempt at DLC. In the future, a less varied, more focused effort would be appreciated.

No, it's only the weider HSV for this DLC. Hopefully PD took the time to model/license the others (Epson, ARTA, Keihin and Raybrig) and are saving them for GT6.

Because Polyphony haven't supplied me with enough Skyline's/ GTR's, I can't even tell the (albeit semantic) difference. Maybe a pure GTR DLC pack, then a month later (so my small, non-Japanese brain can comprehend the differences) a Skyline DLC pack could be released. I know, still not an adequate Skyline/GTR load for me to swallow, but I'd rather a small load of the same consistency, than a immense, varied load. I find the latter harder to gobble up.
