Are you sure it isn't a picture that was released around the game's release?

Don't know, just saw it randomly today, could be.

If it was a 2009 car, then it would have the different back wing.

Its Tony Stewart 2010 car just with another livery.I dont know why they didnt include that one.

One thing I am intrigued about considering the GTR is how good it will look, the SHulze GTR looks astonishingly realistic in photos some how I'd think the new GTR would be the same.

A boring Subaru? It's way more fun than a bunch of Audi and Mercedes saloons. Face it, this is a Japanese game and the bias has been there since the first game. No wonder and consider yourself lucky that the Aventador was added.

First off, I can think of quite a few Mercedes (and to a lesser extend Audi) saloons I think are a lot more fun than the BRZ, and let's face it, it probably doesn't offer a genuinely different driving experience than the Toyota/Scion.

Your second point I also don't share, yes the first GT's were heavily biased towards Japanese cars, probably out of necessity first since GT was an unknown start up (they were simply easier to access) and because at that time they felt that Japanese cars needed some well deserved promotion and put into a new context (that of the enthusiast, and not just seen as good value/quality).
It actually was the first time they were even featured in a massmarket videogame.

Things have changed since, GT has become a worldplayer with a lot of licenses from most big car companies (and Japanese cars feature in most videogames now) and as such the diversity (or balance) should reflect that, if the original attitude didn't change significantly and it really becomes a bias not instigated by necessity, then I'm afraid the backlash won't be purely caused by consumers but will eventually be frowned upon by non-Japanese brands as well.
Kaz's evangelism of Japanese car culture has already succeeded, now he might start to worry it doesn't become a weird cult or increasingly incestuous in nature.

That isn't a Japanese thing (as otherwise Forza would primarily feature American cars, or a Codemasters title primarily British cars) but a PD thing foremost, another Japanese developer given the same options and resources might have gone for a completely different approach.

A lot of hateorade being drank in this thread! C'mon guys.

Oh my bad. Kaz and PD can do no wrong rah rah rah. Better?

You like the DLC then good for you Mule. However, it's my opinion that this is one lame DLC with the possible exception of the HSV. I cant wait to see how they screw up DCC once again with the update lol. They have never gotten this series working right. Unbelievable:crazy:.

Nielson Ill take any Merc CLK or SL Black series, newer Audi RS or R8 models over a Subaru and 1001 GTR's any day of the week in Real Life or in GT5. Just too many DLC GTR's.

Finnracer Turn10 has aimed directly at GT5 with Forza series. Its sad and pretty obvious that PD is oblivious to the fact that they are competing with a very capable team from Turn 10. Let them keep being oblivious and they will be left behind. PD's whole approach is long in the tooth. I await GT6 in hopes that Kaz can recapture the essence of a modern, polished, finished product. If its anything like GT5 overall I'm done lol. I'm not a blind supporter.

I might be wrong, but I don't we have this car. I found this picture online.

New NASCAR?

That was Tony Stewart's 2009 car, which had Old Spice as a primary sponsor. It was featured in the demo inside of retailers such as Walmart and Target. However, it never made it to the full game as PD added the 2010 cars.

Speaking of this DLC, why are people saying it's overpriced? 99 cents a car sounds cheap to me.

Which, looking at Japanese contemporary games from last generation like Enthusia and Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 2, where the games did have a lot of Japanese cars but did not have a lot of the same Japanese cars over and over again with minor (if any) variations, makes that seem to ring true.

Yes, we're bothered by the GT-R and BRZ not being free, since they were expected to be included in an update. No, a dollar each isn't a big deal.

Haha, true. It's kinda embarrasing to be honest.
👍

Some people look at it like the DLC is going to cost more than the game with it not nearly being the same value. You know, as if that wasn't already the case with paid DLC.

Two reasons:

  • Because of how all over the place GT5's DLC has been. The first car pack, the one that PD made such a big deal out of with the co-launch of Spec II, was considerably less than $1 per car.
  • Because the DLC for GT5's nearest contemporaries (Shift 2 and Forza) were/are considerably cheaper per-unit than GT5's was even with the first pack.

Well, if you don't want to pay for a car I guess you don't have to now.

Well, yes. When the car packs after the first one were a dollar/car anyway, splitting them up is a considerably better system than all or nothing. But so would actually releasing cars that are consistently desirable, or when bundling cars having them priced accordingly.

It can certainly be argued that this is nothing more than PD going after the results of the problem (low DLC sales because people don't want to pay for cars they don't want) rather than going after the cause of the problem (cars that people obviously won't want to pay for and/or prices that they don't want to pay). And for those who want all three cars, good on them. Buy them and enjoy them. But PD really needs to sort their DLC implementation out, because they aren't anywhere near with the curve at the moment.

Amen. Same for me. Kaz has completly lost the ball...and keeps losing it again and again... Seriously disturbing how PD is so systematicaly wrong with GT5.
Looks like they just don't want to admit it (and blind supporters that applause for ridiculous DLC and/or late broken patches: "Whoa! PD does support their game!!! Marvellous!!"

But the track packs made up for the low price, no?

y u no make sense?

I'm actually looking forward to the new DLC.

Not heaps keen on the GT-R but will be very happy with the BRZ and HSV010. I prefer the Subaru over the Toyota/Scion and as for the Honda, it's more than welcome in the game. :-)

This... hahahaha... Post. I don't even know what to say! I just can't stop laughing!

Finally some DLC :)

The HSV-010 looks great and costs great as well.
But to be honest I'm quite disappointed with both of the other cars, is it really needed to put a price tag on a re-badged 86/FRS (And a slightly different front, specs), as in the same way for the GT-R which in my opinion should be given away for free since we got it for free last year.

Now I know, if you don't like it then don't buy it. Yes I agree with that and that's what I'm going to do, but I just think is plane wrong we had to wait 3 months for 1 new car and 2 refreshed cars as DLC.

I am not bothered for the blue Schulze GT-R and BRZ not being free, because I wouldn't use them anyway. The black Schulze GT-R and the Toyota 86 were enough. Been there done that.

Instead I'm very pleased with the HSV, considering I don't expect anything cool from PD and their more of the same mentality. The HSV is a gem in an ocean of photocopy lame Nissans Miatas and kei cars. Let's be happy for that, afterall it's 1 euro well spent for a game we already own.

If you want something really cool give up with PD and start saving some money for a new pc, Assetto Corsa and pCars.

First of all, they are not rebadged. Why do people keep saying this? And why should they be free because we got other cars for free? All the more reason to pay now.

Because they are re-badged. If someone gave you something for free then gave you the same thing with a few slight alterations and asked you to pay for it wouldn't you wonder why?
