Have a good one !

Hey, it turned out that the shop on eBay ran out of Max Drive.

So I went to BestBuy.ca and I found two things:

Datel 16MB Max Drive (PlayStation 2) $39 CAN
Datel Action Replay MAX (PlayStation 2) $49 CAN

The AR MAX is more attractive than the Max Drive (functionality), but can I use it for the WRS (import my saves here)? Can the AR MAX do it?

Like I said earlier, I have AR Max which I also bought at Best Buy and it works great.

I didn't figured out how to make the online play work so I can't race right now but can I still submit my times so I can see where I would have qualified?

Winners are listed each week.... but there will hopefully never be an end to the wrs where someone wins something physical.

What you can win everyweek, is the knowledge that you are one of the fastest racers on GT4 in the world, as the people you are competing with are from everywhere.
You are also able to see very quickly, how many people you beat, and which ones you are gonna have to work hard to beat next week, and then you can use those drivers as inspiration to better yourself.

EVERYONE who joins this race series gets better at GT4.
Simple.

Except for Hotboi, who cant possibly get any better.

quick question on the max drive... whats the best way to get one, considering i live in australia? any major stores sell them or will i have to buy from overseas?

I got mine from Play Asia it took less than a week to come and i live in Sth. Aust.
Play Asia Link
At the moment they are out of stock but they will probably get more in. If they don't try EB games they have the AR max which people also use.

Got mine from play-asia.com as well, it took maybe 3 weeks to arrive ... but then again I live in South Africa ... which is like 10000 miles from anywhere ... arrived at my front door thru the mail ... :dopey: So ordering over the net should not pose any problem ...

I read that the Max Drive corrupts some memory cards, or that it compresses the save games. How can that be fixed?:nervous:

it doesnt corrupt mem cards, i have had mine for months and hasnt happene,d its perfectly safe

Hi folks! I will be submitting my time anytime this week to CFM so I pretend to join you guys racing in the WRS. I am already looking for a X-Port or something, but it is rather difficult to find in Brazil... anybody know where I can find one of these that can send it overseas (and not bust my wallet?) :)

Anyway, there will be a new racer in town... (I hope :))

going to awnser that in portuguese because the guy says he is from Brazil...

BTW... what is a "T" time? How about a hot lap? I am a little lost here... I am reading about the race for week 16 and I don't know how am I supposed to measure the lap (not that I am qualified yet, but intend to). Can I run as many laps as I want? Help! Help! :D

WELCOME! :) Ok, so T times are the sector times of a lap that you see flash by at certain points on the track. We're not allowed to talk about final lap times(total lap time) in public, but if you may wish, you can discuss with other members through PMs. So, throughout the week, people race and race and race and post up their fastest clean lap's T times up until the end of the race week. Then at the end of the race week, you send in to the race organizer only your FINAL lap time, no T times needed. Generally you don't want to submit more than once, so wait until you think you won't run the race anymore and send a pm to the race originator with your fastest overall clean lap.

This week's race is called a hot lap, which means it's just you flying around the track as fast as you can for one lap. Sometimes, like last week, we'll do a race instead.

A bit winded, but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say! 👍 Good luck!

I got most of it... still in doubt about hot lap, thou... Is it ONE lap, from a standing start? Or is it your fastest lap, that you can achieve, lets say, after you ran 2 laps, and you third lap was your fastest? Sorry for the mess! :) I am really excited to race OLR, I hope my qual time will be enough to enter it! :D

No mess! Don't be sorry! Lol. It's the fastest lap you can acheive, so your speed through the last turn of your previous lap WILL make a difference! :)

Oh, and make sure you do spend at least 3-4 or maybe even more hours at the Qualifier. Well, you don't HAVE to, but I suggest it. I didn't spend quite enough time at it, and got put in division three, while I most likely would've qualified into division 2 if I had really gone at it. Now I'm just taking up podium spots for other division 3 racers... :guilty: Oh well, I shall be promoted soon. So, GOOD LUCK!

Well... that's more clear now... :) And regarding your Division 3-starting, don't worry, I am sure Schumacher did not start at F1 either... ;) And it is more fun and rewarding to start from the bottom and crawl it up then start it from the top and fall... 👍

Lol, very true very true. And about your signature, hahaha! That's awesome, The real crash simulator nice :)

Tell me about it... it was a temporary part-time"cockpit" (a corner table with glass top). It took just too long for me to replace it for a wooden one... nobody got hurt, though :)

WRS noob question: Am I to assume the WRS will just keep adding weeks to the series until GT5 comes out and we start in on that? Or will it be broken down into seasons (like F1, ALS, Nascar, etc.).

For those of us joining in week 16 (or even someone joining in week 60) it would seem almost impossible to catch up to the leaders in terms of points, know what I mean?

It would seem only fair to reset the points once a year or so to give late comers a chance to be on top of their respective divisions (and maybe to reorg the Divisions based on # of drivers, # of points in the previous season, etc.).

MHO

Cheers,

UMP

Well... We keep going until GT5, yes. About the points, the leaderboard only calculates your best last 6 out of 8 races, so that's how that works. No need to reset points. And not only that, but many of the "old guys" will ***** and whine when anyone talks about this actually being some sort of competition. I roll my eyes. Welcome to the WRS!

Careful KLR.....

You may induce some whining!

Really theyre a friendly bunch you know, they just like to race the real long time drivers, instead of all the kiddies who inevitably turn up when a new game comes out.

After a while, the pack will dwindle, and all you will be left with are the really committed and really really fast guys and gals, those are the ones to test yourself against, so dont worry, it will always be the place to come to if you are looking for tutorledge on one of the best sims in the world, against some of the best drivers in the world.

Stick about, and learn even more.

Thats why we're here u know.

:odd:👍
