The first details of the title should come at E3, as well as a playable demo. The game is still slated to be on the PS2, although with the PS3 launch looming there is the possibility that GT4:embarrassed:nline could share some basic things in common with GT5. Details on GT5 have been few and far between; however the release of GT4:embarrassed:nline should help to improve GT5’s online experience. PS3Portal will keep you informed of any new information and give you our impressions of the demo at E3.-PS3PORTAL.COM

Yes!!! Even know we all knew this was going to eventually happen due to the insumnerable amount of outcry from the Hardcore Gran Turismo gamers...👍

I broke my cover last week and my disc is screwed so it's a good excuse to get a new one:tup:

Can't wait for a confirmed release date at the upcoming E3
👍

Dude, if you don't have one already, good luck finding one! And failing that, you oughta just go pick up a new PSTwo already 'cause it's built into the system!

I've had my network adapter since SOCOM, and it was on the discount shelf at wal mart even then, years ago. So, I don't know where to find them outside of eBay... let alone included with a game!

Although, there are some USB alternatives, but the game itself has got to include the Drivers (Pun intended) for it to be used (See: Tony Hawk 3 for PS2: http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:JoYIbtg2jgkJ:www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005NN5G%3Fv%3Dglance+tony+hawk+3+online+usb+adapter&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1&client=safari)

But, I really doubt that's gonna happen.

Well, I just don't see the idea behind buying the new PSTwo just for one game. And about the adptors, I think my local game store has a few but it's just waste of money again...to buy one.

Do you all think this game's online mode will be better than that on the current GT4? I ask this because I don't have an online adapter or broadband. And the current game's GT mode is disappointing. I hope PD includes features similar to those found in Forza's career mode, and better AI.

GT4 doesn't have online as such, it has LAN and there are ways to confuse the PS2 into thinking an online connection is a LAN one, but it doesn't pass for a proper online mode.

All I'm hoping for is that we're able to play online with our home cars. If this is possible, than it's worth it for me. Otherwise... well... I'd still probably buy it anyway just to have the online capability.

Ive just been giving it some thought (There is still steam poring out of my ears) but I speculate that Vision GT and GT online are one and the same, think about it, PS3 will be out by the time this games sees the light of day, it will be a big push for Sonys online gig, plus we have seen the vid that was shown and it clearly showed the GT4 engine running with more cars and slightly updated graphics.

What if Vision GT turns out to be the online version of GT4 but with all of the Graphics enhancements? that would be very nice indeed. Just my guess as to what PD are doing, then atleast it would be a stopgap till GT5 and also showing the way for GT fans online. what do you think?

Nah, I think this is a legitimate PS2 release. Plenty of games have been revamped for re-released solely for the online capabilities. And from what I gather, it will be for only $40.00 (or $39.99), which would be highly unusual for a PS3 game.

@ sprite - I don't think GT Vision is the GT4 Online Edition. I can't just imagine that.
@ FAOLIU05 - Yes, I think that this won't be at full price either. If it is...whoever set the price can 🤬 him/herself ;)

wow, i just read this. i love gt4 ... it's pretty much the only game i play; i'll buy this same hour it comes out (if it does). i dont care if the online is the only difference .. i'll buy it.

Only Vision GT isn't a game at all, it never has been. We've seen clips from GT5 in VGT video's and clips from GT4's engine, how does that figure into the VGT=GT4 online theory. VGT is nothing more than a showcase for the future of the GT series, it's purpose is to show us some things to expect in GT on the PS3. IMO the only reason we ever saw VGT was because of the PS3 being unveiled, at that time PD didn't have any showable versions of GT5 and Sony wanted them to have a version of GT at the unveiling, so they just gave us an updated GT4 and called it VGT, then in the second VGT video we got a sneek peek at two GT5 car's.

I would put good money on it beign for PS2, for the price PS3 looks like it is going to cost (a lot fo estimates are putting it at $500) It would still be in game companies interest to produce PS2 games, more poeple have ps2's and will continue to use them, so it would be worth producig games for it, esepcially whne it's as simple as adding online (which was already half ways developed) and potentially changins some simple things

they had better put that into NTSC also because if they don't, ebay will see some pretty high increases in americans buying from europeans...

I'm hoping that, whatever they eventually do, they put the original Mini back in the PAL version. How could they leave that one out!?!

the thing about me, i'm starting to get a lil bit board with right now, thats why i really cant wait til E3, to hear more details about it.

i still hope, that there is something like a cockpit view in the game...looking back to TT!

anyways, i hope to see more cars in the game, dont care which will be there, but i would just love PD, if they put back the '00 E55 AMG. i just love that car :)

un_peacekeeper
or they can not have the stupid '00 CLK55AMG and have the '04 one. but a cockpit view would be too much to do for 700+ cars, wait for GT5.

ya youre right, that clk55 is so not ok in that game. i'm a true ///AMG fan, but in the game, i dont like that car.
if they would put the 04 one, that would be great.:)

no, cockpit view, is acutally a easu thing, just do it like they did it in Colin Mcrae 4. just that you can sit inside, but not that the gauges are moving....:dopey:

*McLaren*
If it doesn't get mentioned at E3, I'll be guessing the idea is dead...again.

go easy, thats a scray posts dood!:sly:

if i dont here any new news, i'll wite an email to PD, that i'm pissed of, and i'm gonna buy an 360 box.:dopey:

I don't think they will care about YOU and you buying a XBOX360. It didn't sell well.
And I do think the same way as *Mclaren*, no GT4O at E3 ->probably no GT4O at all in the feature.

i know they wouldnt care at all if i write them a mail, was just kidding round ;)

anyway, i hope to hear from them in 9 days..... "thumbs up"

Is that the GT4O cover on the official site?

Yea the Japanese have until around 25th May to sign up and they've been allocated 1000 spots according to the official website. It's planned for North America too, but it doesn't mention Europe/Australia as a part of the test....

so, what i'm confused about is this. The GT4 online is going to be beta tested, but is it simply a beta test for online capabilties in Gt5 on the PS3, or are we going to get a commercial release of Gt4 online.

I'm crossing my fingers for a GT4 online edition for ps2 this year w/ added support for the clutch/6-speed shifter Logitech is releasing
