I'm crossing my fingers for a GT4 online edition for ps2 this year w/ added support for the clutch/6-speed shifter Logitech is releasing

My fingers felt in the floor already.

Me = Keep Waiting - Johnny Waiter

I have never been an online gamer -- never saw the attraction of it all. However, if it were to happen (GT4 Online), I wouldn't go out and buy it right away - I would wait, rent it for a couple of nites and test it out first -- just to see what it's all about 👍

Awesome. I didn't hear a thing about GT4 Online from E3, so I thought that it was never going to be. Great news, amar.

If this is not discounted for current legit GT4 PS2 owners. im not buying.

they got $47 from me for GT4 for PS2.

and now they want another $47 for this, which GT4 should have been? I expect a 50% discount.

I don't think it will be 50$ because GT4 already has Greatest Hits. Some new games (but only edited) were cheap. Like Midnight Club 3, the REMIX one cost only 30$, so I think GT4 should do the same.

i will only buy this cause of the online. now i can see how good i really am! i'm still guessing the single player will be the same, so i'll just use my old game....if the game lets me.

That's because the guys over at Rockstar San Diego are awesome. Even if PD and KY actually wanted to do a similar deal, I doubt that they would be able to convince Sony (the penny pinchers that they are) to go through with it.

i hope as well, that the Gt4 Online comes out this year and got the feature for the New steering wheel.

I dont know, if its really above 40 bucks, i i'm not gonna get it, cause just for online, and i got still the old ps2, so i would have to buy all that stuff for it....

I bet the US price will be $25-$29, and I bet the UK price will be £25.99-£29.99.

I honesly dont car what the price is. They could keep the first price(50-60$) they had and ill still buy it. Online game play around the world? What more could you want?

And if this ever does come out, will it become the next biggest MMO?

Not unless Sony/PD decide to make it an MMO game. MMO means more than just online play -- it has to be a large, persistent world that you play a role in. Motor City Online and the upcoming Test Drive Unlimited are the only MMO racing games I can think of...everything else just has random races that you join from a lobby.

Not sure about that, as GT Concept and Prologue both retailed in the UK for £20 (the same as MC3 Dub Remix), and I paid less than that for both, around £17 each if I rememeber correctly. I think the main issue is that neither of these were released in the US and as such that market has only experienced full price PD releases.

Fingers crossed anyway.

There is no indication that a GT4 On-line edition will ever be released.

While SONY soaked us all for a beta GT4 release, but we will fight tooth and nail to stand first in line for any new GT release. :dopey:

Cheers,

I don't know... I've never been too much of an online-gamer (but that's just because I suck at everything gaming-related), but I'd buy the game if it featured other, or new, cars... Well, not sure, actually. If they simply add some Skyline Midnight Purple III, I'll leave it. But if they'll put in really new cars, and many, then I guess I'll buy. Dunno...

Yep, and I think that there are fundamental technical, and financial reasons as to why we won't be seeing GT online before 5. I hope I'm wrong, but that's what I believe.

GT4 Online will NOT be realeased because it was just a test to use its results to help develop GT5's online capability

Exactley, see if it's not confirmed, it's not confirmed. Just like people keep giong all hoo haa over Vision GT and GT:HD. Just like people were adamant that Ferrar's were in GT4 beacuse of the bonus vid of a staff day out having Ferraris in it. You can read too much into too little some times.

I agree with Cosmic. Not surprising in the least.

Oh well, it's actually kind of a good thing -- it prevents them from releasing a "GT4 v1.1" for a full $50. :indiff:

I don't know about you guys, but I don't mind waiting for GT5 (or GT:HD, whatever it's called) on the PS3. It'll be more than worth the wait, more-so with the second GT they release on it.

Well, except that I bet GT5 will be little more than a graphical update to GT4 with online play thrown in. And it'll cost a lot more than $50 - remember you have to buy a $500+ PS3 just to run the game, which will itself probably cost $60 or $70 (based on what Sony has said about video game pricing so far).

I'd much rather pay $50 for GT4 online with my PS2. And I would, believe me. But it probably wouldn't make sense for them to release it since, as I mentioned, they're going to want to sell those expensive PS3s instead.

i could see this coming as well. i'm not that sad about it, i'll just have to wait for ps3 and gt5 like you all :)

anyway, at least we heard some new news :)
