Worked for me first time for some reason (started the download at 12pm GMT). It was finished at 12.15. Was hoping I could do a few races at lunch time and it worked out :-)
Got my first 50 000 cr in susuka 700 points, I love this game!!

Has anyone noticed any changes to the penalty system (both online and in events).

There are obvious problems, i.e clipping the grass giving you a penalty, but a blatent corner cut not, so you would have thought PD would have done SOMETHING.

But in the details of the patch, it hasn't been mentioned!

Is it just me or have they sorted the F2007's turning ratio? I found it much easier to race around Eiger with it just then. But, they still haven't stopped that stupid wtf-throttle thing when you lift off when turning in the car!

Well, first impressions are good! Big difference in racing in Susuka 700 points. I drive an Elise and the ferrari are a good match now. I catch them in the S curves and got overtaken in the straight line. Loads of fun races ahead...

Guys, so I see

Miscellaneous
- Some interiors and exteriors of some vehicle models have been revised.

Can anyone confirm this with SL55 if FINALLY the RPM needle stops at correct RPM not half way? thanks!

This is fantastic news - finally I will stop getting frustrated at the 650PP races. I will be d/l'ing the update patch in a few hours when I get home from work hopefully. See you all on there this evening!

The Tuned Elise now has more PP. With max weight and R3's it gets 651 PP. You cannot decrease the BHP. So to get under 650PP you have to run on R2's. I don't remember it beign like this so it definetly has changed.

Great news. I'm glad they have looked into the PP system and have made modifications.

Can someone try to find out what tires you can put on the Amuse S2000 with all QTS points going first to tires and staying below 650PP. I have been tuning the crap out of this car for online 650pp and the best tires I could equip was S2 and be below 650pp. I hope they have modified this.

Where the penalty rules ever discussed here?
I have the jpn version, so maybe it's just there in the manual.
Perhaps it's in that 100+ page thread though.

There atre 100s of posts from people who are not happy with the Penatly system.. Its truely awful... Sometimes you can tap someone (or be tapped) and get a penatly.. Other times you can ram into someone (and visa versa) and nothing happens.

For me, the biggest frustration is when you put one wheel on the grass and loose a bit of traction. Thats enough of a penatly as you loose a few 1/10th.. But then the penatly system kicks in and tells you that you have made a 'short cut'... Where as othertimes, you can cut straight across a corner and do nothing.

I don't really want to turn this thread into a discussion on the penalty system, I just want to know if there has been any improvement in this area.

@ Breaker

Only had a quick look.
On the default settings even S3's put it over 700pp

Try adjusting the aero and tune them low as possible. Same with power and weight.
Reduce Power to lowest and Increase the weight to max.

What will S3 put it at then?

btw, thanks for checking.

It worked after the second time.

2 weeks ago I had, like many others, a problem with downloading the update.
I disconnected the router and connected the PS3 directly to the internet and all problems were solved.

This is what I did today:

A few minutes ago, I tried to download this update. I purposely connected the PS3 to the router again and tried to download the update without succes. I, then, disconnecte the PS3 from the router and connected it, again like 2 weeks ago, directly to the internet, with succes this time.

So I can say with some certitude that it has something to do with the router!

:)

there are NO MORE 650pt races. it´s 700 now :)

I got stuck on probably around 92% and it started flicking back and forth and the bar wouldn't advance any further...figure I'll just skip this until I buy the game *hired it for a week*. Blockbusters has 2 preowned PS3 games for £28 so I'll get it in that deal (quite a few newish games lining the shelves too on that deal)

Wow, sounds interesting. I'll have to write down all my QTS setups which is a pain but oh well.
So we need a PS3 update before we get the GT5:P update, is that right?

Read this post: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2986269&postcount=77 for a possible solution.

Probably nobody reads it!

Mine worked 1st time. Yay! Suppose thats probably the fact that I discovered ages ago my router is..well rubbish so the PS3 is hardwired now. Reduced my lag online too. 👍
