I hate IP geolocation. For the first time playing GT5p I'm pissed, I stood the online bad drivers, I stood the long installation time, the faulty downloads (which let me tell you it's so lame in 2008 they haven't gotten a decent progress bar in 3 updates) and the Elises, but I hate getting a flag is not mine but from another stinking country.

Something I would like to mention; The Citroen C4 Coupe's steering wheel has been fixed. So now the actual wheel rotates around the 'fixed' center... just like the real life version 👍

the ps3 won't let you connect to the internet with GT5P until you have performed the ps3 update.

ps3 update 2.30 is available here: US ps3, EU ps3, JP ps3

I'm in France as my avatar suggests, I use GT5P Japanese version on my Japanese PS3, made a Time Attack online record and my real PSN ID was preceded by the French flag!

It was the same in GT HD Concept if I remember correctly.

I tried a race in the Online mode and I saw plenty of guys with the [JP] mark after their name, one guy had the [HK] mark. As pointed out by Rocket Punch, this is region locked online, I'm using the Japanese game that's why I play versus guys with the Japanese game being, in Japan, Hong Kong, France or Texas.

Maybe you're a special guy and they don't have your flag, where are you located ?

of course this is the Irish flag since you're connected to the game in Ireland, they use your IP, they won't let you choose your nationality.

You're an Irish now! and that's the same for our friend who is living in a "stinky country".

my PS3 system language is set to French though (but French is spoken outside of France).

this is geolocation guys. in R:FOM I have the Japanese flag because I use a Japanese PS3 with a French game. I prefer GT5P's IP check.

Its a different game online now mate! I was racing some 700pp races @ Suzuka, and at first, there were the usual gaggle of Elises, now its like spot the Elise!

I'm well chuffed now because my Tuned Corvette Z06 is finally competitive. I've been getting some good finishes with that car lately - THANKS PD! 👍

English. It doesn't bother me too much, I left France 6 years ago and I always play my games in english. I've never had the choice of language though.

I will probably keep the Elise until they give me a tuned RX-8 :-)
And yes, I agree, the races are way more challenging now, which is a good thing!!

Yep, that was there before the update too.

Took me 4 tries, only about half an hour's worth of waiting.

I noticed that too. There was the odd Elise out there being an ass, but its easy to out run them now, so the 'tactically inept' have now moved onto greener pastures.

I did notice that the Evolution X Tuned was a popular car, is this the new Elise?

The tuned clio seems to work very well in 700 points as well, I got overtaken (I drive the 111R) in acceleration like if I was standing still!
