New seasonal: british lightweights + info and OCD update

I like the strategy used by PD, to allow us to have fun with the cars , that are for the most part, just sitting in our garage. Honestly, how many of us have driven our "British Lightweights" recently?

Now I get to see what they're made of! I am happy to now earn $$$ for racing on the Nür

I saw a Lotus Elan in the UCD, so I decided to liven that up for the event.

Engine Rebuild
Chassis Overhaul
Full weight reduction
Rigidity Improvement
Full Engine mods (Except no turbo)
Full Driveline Upgrades (Except no LSD)
Middle of Range Suspension Option
Soft Race Slicks

WOW what a fun car to drive. Really enjoyed the event with this. Have shared it now so if you want a drive, just add me :)

Nurburgring and London were quite a nice challenge in this car

+1 The Elan is a great car to drive.

these seasonals are adding up to eventually surpass the enormous amount of content in GT4. What a wondrous idea this weekly race update has been.

Ugh, the nordschleife in a massively overpowered Lotus Esprit Turbo '89 with sports hard tires. It was hard keeping it on the road even on the straights. So I didn't win :-(

Imo, these seasonals are the best we've had so far. Two times nurb, monaco, drift and TT events with prizes, 550 pp restrictions, triple credits, 0 mile OCD updated and the new racing gear as rewards. Only thing we need now are some classic tracks as DLC

I'm currently doing all the british lightweight races in my vengence tuned evora, (which I've detuned myself in order for it to fit the restrictions) and it's an absolute blast.
The tune they've produced makes the car extremely easy to handle. Just won at Nurb with all aids of, including abs which I normally use at 1, and comfort medium tyres. Makes for some very challenging, but fun racing. 👍

Currently trying to win with comfort hards, but I'm still a few seconds off.

Ugh.

Some of us (read: me) haven't even tried the Tsukuba 9H of that very reason. Assuming one-minute laps with a minute-long pit stop twice an hour, that's about 58 laps per hour or 522 laps in nine hours. Factor in cars that can do a lap in well under a minute and can go more than half an hour without pitting for fuel and/or tires, and it should be no problem getting 550 laps.

Well, 'no problem' except for player fatigue....

Especially if you use a wheel set up in a cockpit. Massage me please!

I used race hard

I guess I will win every event then 2nd every event then 3rd every event to get the colours and horns...

Slight offtopic but if anyone wants to get rid of horns I will take them Send me a PM.

I've got a couple British cars set up already (Elise, Griffith 500, Tuscan Speed 6) but I've decided to set up a TVR V8S. Yeah I know, definitely not the most popular choice but I had it sitting in my garage still with the dirty oil from the UCD so I figured why not. Went straight to the 'Ring, dirty oil and all and scraped a 6th place finish 30 seconds behind the front runner. I changed the oil, lightly modified it up to 280hp and went for it again. This time I ended up 4th and 12 seconds behind the front runners. I'm gonna have to do a little work to catch those Elises up front but so far I'm having fun.

Yep, the TVRs are also a good choice.👍 It's a good race to win Mt Aso and the Nurburgring in a stock standard Tamora. Not too difficult, but you can't stuff around.

Esprit V8 is my choice for this seasonal. Got the job done even easier than my McLaren F1 did.

Nice. I finally got to win a race in my Corsa! But don't overdo it on the upgrades. I fully modded one to start off with and I took the lead in Monaco after only half the race on the first go. I actually had some fun races doing only weight reductions and adding a mid-range turbo at 355PP. Only came third in my first try. Though it's partially luck, as in one race I had managed to take the lead on lap three, because the entire lead group spun out and crashed into each other. That sure was fun coming around the corner and dodging all the cars! :D

When I saw British Lightweights on Custom Soft, I remembered the awful Elise challenge in Special Events With the thought of more skating around Tsukuba, I nearly didn't bother.

But RKM's suspension tune on the Elise 111R and the events are turning out to be very enjoyable.

It was good to see PD have introduced the dodgems to A-Spec, how many cars spin out at Monaco?

Is it just me but they show a mini for the new seasonal but you can't use a mini !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try the TVR T350C '03 at Monaco and London. It's a blast. Tail happy like an Elise, but easier to manage. Tune it to 550 PP and it's a beast. Grinding at London is great fun. Nearly 400K credits in about 4.5 minutes, and much more exciting than some of the other high payoff races.

Good stuff ! Using a Caterham with all aids off and its proving to be a challenge. :)

Let's Nurburgrind!!!!!!

I mean, not the best choice in time, but it gives the largest income for game-day. And I need quick money because Gr.C are cycling in the UCD.

I'm using a Caterham too, tuning it race after race to adjust balance. Currently lapping 7:40, my target is 7:30.

Are there faster cars for the job?

These races are Lotus Heaven......

Just really enjoy using any Lotus Derivative to race (Im including the Caterham 7 in my Lotus List).

The Ring was great, Lower an Elise to the floor stiffen the springs, makes it really fun on the bumps, spun a couple of times on some of the really bumpy sections, but was a blast trying to keep in on the tack.

Going to hav eto try a few TVR's next.

Just loving these events.

Going to go through these again Sunday evening before the new series of top gear.

I was very disappointed that we couldn't use the Mini... I mean, for crying out loud !!!
So then I tried some of the 'oldtimers' but eventually I ended up with the Lotus Esprit V8 '02. And suddenly I had a new favorite car :D What a fantastic ride that is !!!

So... many... Elises... (Elisii?)

A stock VX220/VX220 Turbo is a barrel of laughs to do this seasonal with.

If you like that then start checking the UCD for the Sport 350 version which has similar power but is lighter and tighter - awesome for this event. In fact I liked it so much I'm going to have a crack with a Turbo HC '87 I picked up ages ago. That'll need some serious tuning though. :)

London is the trickiest one for me in this seasonal, especially on CS or SH tyres.
