New Seasonal: NR-A Roadster Cup

Thanks to BlindZen's suspension setup, I was able to complete all of the races in this Seasonal Event with ease.

And here's something for the laugh:
So I had plenty of money after I completed all 5 races, and it was about time that I bought a classic muscle car for that race in the Amateur Series. Since I could afford it, I wanted something that looked great and could destroy the competition. I chose the 1970 Grand Touring Mustang. Perfect, I thought. It fit all of the requirements. I go to do the race and it says I need a car built before 1980. HEY! This is a 1970! Guess it isn't letting me do the race because it won the award in 2009 I think. Oh well! So then I thought I'd try the 1960 Art Morrison Corvette. That didn't work either. Ahh, there goes my money!

I'm really loving my roadster(need to work on suspension a little) at SSR5, I'm running :56.3xx-:57.5xx

Hey Indy, there's two builds in here for the NC Roadster, one by BlindZenDriver and one by myself. Both builds are for stock cars with FC suspension and running on Sport Hard tyres.

Zen's build is much more track orientated, with stiff springs. Mine is more street orientated and quite a bit softer.

Somewhere further up this thread is a post from N91KB, he ran both builds back to back and detailed his findings. I'd be interested to see what you can do with them. Particularly after your stellar performance in my Caterham last week..!!

PS - Zen, I really enjoyed your track setup, I only managed to run the first three events, before my wife grumped at me..!! I had a real hard time at Tsukuba, a 1600 NA-R ran away from the field and stole my Gold. I took a lap too many getting used to the car. I could read his number plate as I crossed the finish line, but that was it..!! Swine. I'll run the last, and more difficult, events soon and let you know how I get on :mischievous:

Cy I might give it a go after I'm done doing 9 hrs at tsukaba. Loved the 7 tune will be fun.

Indy

If you've spent 9 hrs at Tsukuba, you might want to skip the first Seasonal Roadster event, I'm sure another 5 laps of the same track will be low on your priorities..!! The SSR5 and Kart tracks are nicely challenging...

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I am amazed how different a car can be made to feel and still deliver virtually the same lap times. Maybe it's that we are sort of compensating for a given setup and sort of making them drive to our style regardless of setup. Or maybe I am putting to much into this and the similar lap times are simply because it's what the car can do.

I'm thinking of trying one of the NB 1.8 models and see how it performs. I know that when tuned to having identical 200 BHP then for some reason it seems the two premium models seem slightly better handling than the standard models. Maybe the simulation of premium cars is different than the standard models.

I'm glad to help :)

You're not the first that I have heard of making those mistakes. The two cars you bought are more like based on those old cars but have been heavily modified so that's why they can not be used.

Craig Morrison, one of the co-builders of the 1960 Art Morrison Corvette, has actually posted about that very car here in the GTPlanet forum (How cool is that!).
