Nah, we don't need wingman names (that's just me and smuttney messing around  ) but if we give ourselves callsigns we prefer it could be useful... In such a case, scrap TinMan because I wanted Iceman anyway :P but I'll just be DE... Original, huh?

JGTC Skylines At Fuji 90's - Leaderboard
1. smuttneyspears - 1'15.800 - Nissan PENNZOIL GT-R (1999)
2. Dark Elite - 1'16.137 - Nissan XANAVI NISMO GT-R (2003)
3. viperpilot - 1'20:343 - Nissan PENNZOIL GT-R (1999)
4. Nissan_Skyline_ - DNF
4. Leonidae - DNF

EDIT - Seeing as I made a 300mph Club speed list, I thought I could make one for this too! Check the link in my sig if you wanna see where you rank!

Smuttney, it's your choice again to what we do now!

My Tsukuba time was a fluke, huh? So I suppose coming within three tenths of you here as well is a second fluke? I ran a 1'16.137 late last night I know it's not as fast as you and I also know it's not the best I can do, but it is damn close!

Well you know..... some people get all the luck don't they.....:odd:
LOL :P :P:P:P:P

Moving on though..... seriously good times guys, i think the only reason that i did win that one, was because i had had so much practice on the track. It is quite frankly one of my favs for sure :) :) :) :)

Oh yeah..... you want my challenge......... :nervous: :nervous:
.....i love doing this to you guys. :mischievous::mischievous::mischievous:
I think that because we had a little ?chat? about it earlier we should go for a

!!!BLAST FROM THE PAST!!!

The SKYLINE SPORT COUPE (BLRA-3) '62 ..... from the legendary cars in the NISSAN dealership. I know its one HELL of alot of money so im gonna give you nearly a week to get ready.
The challenge starts monday the 24th of october till monday the 31st. (Halloween :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: )

The track......?????? well i said blast from the past...... so i think one of the circuits from GT 1, should be in order here......THE GRAND VALLEY EAST SECTION course in the original circuits.

Your best lap times please. 👍 👍 👍

let me know how you feel......... I'm off to practice :sly: :sly: :sly: :sly: :sly: :sly:

Smuttney, again a very nice idea! Even more expensive that your last one, but with my 1,350,000cr. JGTCs I suppose I can't talk :P This should be great fun!

You left a few loopholes though.. What modifications are we allowed, and what tyres?

Leo, I haven't got time to look at the vids yet, and probably won't tonight either :ouch: but I'll save them very soon indeed and watch them at my leisure... I'm sure I'll be congratulating you on finding them!

EDIT - Oh hello! I just took a quick look at them, they're from the Nissan Skyline GT-R - The 200mph Japanese supercar DVD published by Duke... WHICH I HAVE!!! So I've not only seen both of them, but I've seen them in full-screen on my widescreen TV in stereo sound many many times :P:P:P And I can say that it is awesome to behold.

The second one is driven by 'Ringmeister' Dirk Schoysman, who test-drives Skylines there all the time for racing companies, and that is not his car! He doesn't care though :) he just makes an impossibly fast lap with it!

Congratualtions on being able to watch these without buying the DVD! :sly:

DE

well, I'm just a poor student, I'm ready to do almost anything to save money for food.. if it includes downloading free vid clips of dvd's that otherwise would cost fortunes to me, I'll choose the downloads.. :dopey:

hey there.

well to answer your question there D.E. ... i am a big fan of modifying so a no holds bared competion on this one. And yeesss i do try to make them expensive..... but ....... its so much easier to get money in the game than IRL!!!!

WOW :dopey: :dopey: that SKYLINE is FAST Leonidae. Got 200 MPH out of it easy. :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:

As i was watching the second part i could totally imagine being in that car, on that track, because of playing it so many times on GT4. And i was near spot on with his racing line !!!! welll cool :sly: :sly: :sly:

cheers
check me :sly: :sly: :sly:

LOL smuttney I've yet to watch the DVD again after driving the 'Ring so much in GT4, I'll have to see if my R33 N1 follows Dirk's line with me in it :P maybe there's more room for improvement than I thought! I love that highway slipstreaming race... I don't know whether it shows it on the Streetfire vid (probably not) but the guys actually got caught by the police, fined a considerable sum and told to use the Autobahn in future!

When you say no holds barred, if this means you're allowing nitrous I don't care because I won't be using it :indiff: you others can if you like!

DE

 You're posting that link everywhere, but I can so see your point.. She really is a thing of beauty... Let's hope she's not held back by a computer to stop mad tuners like ourselves!

DE

sorry, for not posting. i'm really in a hurry between school and home and girl-friend. (i'm always have to think about your comment D.E.) the '62 SKYLINE is a nice choise, i'm after it for two months.
am i right if i think we could tune it how we like? or am i wrong?

*going to the nissan dealer and by it*

 viper not a problem, so long as you're there at the start line by the end of next week ;)

I'm going to run the DTM once more, then I'll have more than enough cash to kit out the car with every bolt-on in the shop :) except nitrous of course, but with R5s! It'll cost me about 500,000cr, but what the hell my challenge was 1,400,000cr. with tyres!

I think I'm going to enjoy getting all I can out of this car.

DE

What you want to do is buy everything then.. run laps but with the standard exhaust on........... then after you have gotten used to that stick on the full racing exhaust and .........ADMIRE the sound!!!! totally awsome. :sly: :sly: :sly: :sly:

You can't spin it in firstwith R5's without nos.!!!!
so twitchy on the handling.
Best time so far without tinkering is bout 1'10.xxx
cheers
check me :sly: :sly: :sly: :sly: :sly:

Cool smuttney.. I'll have to run a few on R5s and then fit the racing exhaust, run a few more then take off the traction control altogether and fit N1s... SPINSPINSPIN at the rear oooh yeah!

 I'll have to do exactly that tomorrow evening (I'm out all day) but I'll keep with tradition and get a time three seconds lower than yours :P but there seems to be this new trend emerging where I do just that, and then you wait an hour and school me! We'll see who's better in a car as old as this!

DE

Dark Elite, can I join the team?

I did a lap on the Ring with the GTR R34 M.N.P.

and got this time:

car was ran exactly as specified(s2 tyres fully stock no oil change)

i hope you will let me join in.....

Hello Electric!

Nice to see someone new looking for involvement, we do in fact have the full six members I wanted, but only four (myself, Leo, Viper and Smuttney) are taking part at the moment, so you're in. Get going on the challenge!

Out of GT4Freak and villianpl, whichever of them posts last will be excluded from the team for lack of commitment. Sorry.

Viper, I've not had a chance to get out on the track yet but tomorrow I'll be in the pits piddling with the old girl to get her going nicely! 👍

DE

Great time there ELECTRIC on the NUR..... Extremely stunning photo's aswell.
Some absolute picture perfect ones in the group.

Yeah just clamber on board.... we all enjoy a great challenge here.

The car does handle very well... very quick on turn-ins.

Here's my car with ALLOYS
PIC
:sly: :sly: :sly: :sly:

Thants Smuttney for commenting my time! 👍

and speaking of the up-coming challenge, let me see if I'm getting it right:
1.Buy the Skyline Coupe '62.
2.Tune it with anything you want, except nitrous.
3.Go to the Grand Valley Speedway:East Section(GT Mode)
4.Spin it round round like a record round on the Grand Valley East section.
5.Post a Pic of your best time by OCT 31st.

Am I correct?

Thats the name of the game there ELECTRIC.

Just make sure it is faster than my time :dopey: :dopey: lol
(probably will be.. not too much skill in going forwards... more into the sideways thing at the moment. ) But i love the COMPETITIONs. :sly: :sly:

check ME :sly: :sly: :sly: :sly: :sly: :sly: :sly: :sly:

EDIT: 7:30 PM GMT

Just been messing around on the old N1's and thought...... Hmmmmm.......
two challenges...........one totally unrestricted part from if you use NOS (must be stated though) and the other one is restricted to N1's. now THATS a challenge

EDIT.

Electric, that is indeed a very good photo of your time for irrelevant compliments :P nice to see what you got clearly though!
You can use nitrous in this challenge if you want, but you have to say whether you did or not.

Smuttney, that's a pretty cool idea, like a drift version of the main challenge :sly: the only thing is you can't tell tyre type without a video of the settings going straight into the lap doing the full lap recording the whole thing etc etc(*deep breath*) so it'd be quite hard to do!
Love the Skyline Sport with gold rims BTW 👍 now give it a black rear wing!

Oh, that begs the question - Can we use rear wings on the 1962 Skyline? Just wondering whether I can use my aerodynamic fiddling tricks in this too :)

**Must win challenge... Must win challenge... Cannot lose to smuttney...**
:) well that'd be two in a row  I can't let you do that! I don't think I'll need to though, I'm on half-term this week so I have a full five days free to get going on this one!!

DE

I also have my skyline sport with gold colored rims ,but the car is also in that golden-brown color.. And too bad you cant have a rear wing on it(well at least not in us version that I have)

It's a very manuverable car when you install racing suspension and lower it fully.I mean, you can practically drive the car around the grand valley east section without letting go of the throttle...that is,if you use super soft racing tyres, though. And concerning the nitrous-I probably wont install them because I think that nitrous and oldtimer cars are somthing that does not belong in the same sentence.

And just remembered that I made this little photoshop.I was bored, and I wanted to learn how to make a multishot.

Hope you like this guys.

I took the Skyline Sport round and yes, you can very nearly drive an entire lap without letting go of the throttle, it's surprising harsh if you don't brake in a straight line though! Who'd have thought a 43-year-old car could bite so hard!

After six or seven laps I produced a 1'09.587. There's still about a second left to be gained there though, I just really wanted to beat 1'10. Then when I did I thought, I'll do another one! :sly:

Of course, I did not use nitrous, nor am I going to! :) Apologies for poor quality once again, my webcam may be going south... :indiff: it's still legible!

Dark Elite's Lap Record of Grand Valley East - Skyline Sport BRLA-3 '62 ~180BHP

Dark Elite's Lap Record of Grand Valley East - Skyline Sport BRLA-3 '62 ~180BHP Picture 2

Electric, that really is an amazing picture... I love the R stolen from the GT-R badge too! Well done! What you should do now is get a picture of a GT-R32, a GT-R33 and a GT-R34 and work inwards from the old to the new with the same background, that'd be truly awesome! 👍👍

I'm now so glad there is an R in our team name

DE

Dark Elite thanks for the comment! 👍

And I will try to make that r32-33-34 morph, too.

And you are exactly .600 faster than I am,I will have to re-do my gears setup a little.
I always set my gears too wide and suspension too stiff

And I have to mention that I saw a Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 today, although I mentioned it in some other threads, too.

Anyway, the GT-R I saw was black, black Nismo rims, rear windows tinted black.I saw it leaving some parking lot.It drove slowly, and the moment it went out of the parking lot,the driver punched the throttle and speed away in to the distance. It was a beatiful sight,I only wish I did not forgot my cameraphone today, beacause I would have taken some photos and post them here if I did had the phone with me. :banghead:

And just one thing:Black Nissan Skyline GT-R's look BADA$$!!!

Electric, your suspension can never be too stiff :P you just need to control the car with it, my lap is with it as stiff it it'll go! I'm about 3rpm away from the redline at the end of the straight too, at 122mph so I think that's sorted as well! Now I just need to drive better!

I can believe how great that Skyline looked... I can also believe how quickly she'll have head-butted the horizon! Did she have a Nismo bodykit on? Some people buy GT-R33s and then buy the 400R bodykit and put it on, and it looks awesome in white, blue or black. Oh, aftermarket pipe on her? They nearly always do have!

Viper, you probably won't need to set much time aside for this one... It's quite easy to do, I mean I'm within a second of my limit, I think, after only an hour and a half or so of driving... But it could take another two hours to get that second back!

EDIT - I signed off twice again... I must be losing it :dunce:

DE

I dunno man if the car had a 400R bodykit,I was just way too stunned when I saw it.I think it did have an aftermarket exaust, though.

And I think that this will be my first and my last Skyline GT-R encounter, because GT-R is not legal here, even R34,and the one I saw had UK licence plates(What the hell was he doung in Zagreb,I wonder?).Ah well,I at least saw(AND heard) one.

Also, I can't wait for the new GT-R.I hope it will kick some butt when it finally arrives.......

I notice in that Multi-Shot pic it's just a bucnh of R34s. Any reason for the discrimination? The R33 and R32 are just as viable, if not better cars than the R34. And what of the DR30? The R31? How about the KPGC10 and 110?

Not a very good skyline squad in my opinion.
