Welcome to the WRS guys.

To answer Inferno251's question.
Here is a good post from an WRS member.

I would add that for the qualifier you should put your best effort in to it and spend (approxiamatly) the same amount of time that you think you will put into each week's race.
You should be put into the correct division that way.
You don't want to win in your division right away (probably not enough time spent on qualifier) and you don't want to be last every week (too much time spent on qualifier).
I believe most put about 3 - 4 hours a week if they get the time. Some more, some less.

There is a promotion system for those who need to be moved up the ladder towards alien status. That's Division 1 Gold.
We also like to share tuning/racing tips but Alan gave a good summary of the WRS.

Thanks, looking forward to racing this time.

Hi guys!

I'm new to this forum. I played GT5P with a controller for quite some time now, but just bought a G27 wheel this past week end, and I am totally hooked! At first, I was disappointed, but that was until I tweaked the wheel settings and improved my setup considerably. So I'm now eagerly waiting for nov 24 to arrive.

More over to WRS, I'm new to this as well, but I really like the idea. I will register a username tonight and start praticing on a qualifier. This seems like such a great community

Hi and welcome to the planet đź‘Ť

This is the last WRS on GT5P and it ends tomorrow so running the qualify wouldn't do you any good. I suggest waiting for the GT5 WRS to start. It should be up not to long after the release đź‘Ť

Good evening... morning/afternoon, whatever, now that I think about it.

I don't know if anybody would remember me, but I raced GT4 WRS under Filizola for a span of about less than 100 weeks, off and on.
Being competitive here on the WRS was one of my fondest memories playing video games. I'm completely stoked beyond belief to be getting GT5 first thing tomorrow morning at 8am and jumping online.

I'll be one of the first to put in my qualifying times when everything gets sorted out for the new WRS!
Here's to good times to be had!

Hi guys I'm new to GTP but have been doing a lot of reading in the run up to GT5. The WRS sounds like great fun and I will be signing up once the GT5 qualifier is up (providing i have bought GT5 by then).

Looking forward to it.

Hello guys, I'm James. New to GTP & WRS.

Keen as mustard to get stuck into some racing. Just finished my 100" projector set-up in preparation for GT5.

Cheers and see you all on the track.

Hello everyone. I'm going to be a WRS member in Gran Turismo 5 and I look forward to racing you all.

Hey all,

Joining the ranks of online competitive game play with the advent of GT5. Loving the game so far and my siblings are playing, too! Look forward to playing with all of you.

Welcome to the WRS guys.

To answer Drift260Z's question.
This is what the format was like with GT5 Prologue.
With GT5 there will be a new qualifier soon.

Here is a good post from an WRS member.

The first thing you have to do is do a qualifying time-trial (https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=111987). This is where you use the Mazda RX7 on Fuji, do as many laps as you want, and then submit your best laptime (the aim should really be to achieve a natural time, and not one which you spend 100 laps practicing on). After submission, you will be placed into a GTP division.

GTP Divisions: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=111988

Once you have been placed into a division, you can then take part in the 'Weekly Race Series' (not races; just time-trials). For each week, a car/track combo is chosen for everyone to do laps with. At the end of the week, you submit your best lap. There is also a leaderboard which everyone can update throughout the week: http://wrs.gtplanet.net . The divisions do not compete separately; they are all mixed together for competition (have a look at the leaderboard).

Each week's time-trial event has its own thread (This week's thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=131937). If you post your laptime (or sometimes only split times allowed with no final laptime), then an automated-bot will fetch your time and update the leaderboard.

Hello all, Im HrodBehrat (aka Rob), long time lurker first time caller...err, poster. Looking forward to participating in all your great events and meeting some great drivers.

So, the RX7 on Fuji may not be the new benchmark for WRS Devision qualifying, fyi.

Well we have a much better selection of tracks in GT5, and alot more cars to choose from than from GT5P. I was hoping it'll be something different. Oh...and I can't wait to race online with some of you guys. :)

Cheers... Haven't been here since the dying days of GT4.
But I'm looking forward to another long WRS career in GT5.

Hi there, welcome to GTPlanet and the WRS đź‘Ť :gtpflag:

I noticed you had posted two consecutive messages ("Double posting") so I merged your two posts into one message. In future, it would be great if you could just hit the "EDIT" button if you want to add something further, especially if no one has added a reply after your first message, cheers!

The Race Admin team will post up details of the new GT5 Qualifier as soon as the picture regarding save games/tagging/combos/possibilities etc is cleared up, we're in discussion over the quali and related matters so stay tuned.

All the best
Maz

Will there be an announcement on the news page from Jordan when this starts up as I don't want to miss the day when it begins.

Hi, my name is Dion and I'm new to the GT5 WRS.

Looking forward to doing some WRS and organizing some decent online races rather than pot shotting in the lobby.

Getting sick of racing the AI already

Hello mates!

As you can see I'm a registered user since 2005 but I've never been an active member since GT5 was approaching...

I would like to join the GT5 WRS. Right now I'm playing with a lent Driving Force wheel (yes, the GT3 one :D) but I'm looking forward to buy a G27 or the Thrustmaster one in Christmas or shortly after.

Greetings! :)

Hello all

My name is Simon, I have skimmed the TT threads before but never participated. Now is the time though.

I am all set up with a G27 and a large TV, ready for lots of proper racing, just waiting for the qualifier announcement :-)
