Looking forward to doing some WRS and organizing some decent online races rather than pot shotting in the lobby.

Hi there - me too! :)

Although I have played sim-racers for many years, I've yet to play any of the GT series so I am really looking forward to giving it a whirl and properly getting immersed in it. In the summer I purchased a PS3 specifically for GT5 and although I pre-ordered a long time ago, because of the last delay I am now waiting until Christmas to start playing (it's not out of the wrapper yet! Talk about will-power! :crazy: )

Anyway, looking forward to getting involved online, learning and competing hard... and of course making a few new buddies along the way. Thanks for being so welcoming guys.

Eagerly waiting for unlocked saves so i can transfer my progress to my GTP account.

I am new to online racing, but not new to GT, I have all the major releases and GT5p. I played around a little bit online with GT5p but finding a decent group to race with was often difficult, which brought me here. I created a GTP account under GTP_Tango. I hope to see you all around either in public racing or in the series

No worries.
When the qualifier is posted you can qualify anytime you like.
There is no set date to qualify, it is always open to those who join the registry.
Once you send in your time you will be placed in a division and the Weekly Race Series (WRS) will be open for events, usually a time trial of 1 lap or more.

The Registry races are seperate from the WRS and will also be posted when the OLR team has them ready.

I see you have been here a little while but, welcome to GTPlanet and the WRS.

I love to see that many of the old GT4 guys are resurfacing now that the new game is out. Anyone want to hazard a guess the number of WRS combo #1 participants? :)
 
Well i don't know what it was like for GT5P, but when GT4 came out we had 70 - 90 people rock up for the first few months, so 100 certainly isn't out of the question.
 
I'm not exactly new, but this will be the first time I fully commit myself to posting times with some intention of doing it regularly. I can't wait for it to get started.
 
I'm not new, but I've changed my PSN name to GTP_Jet. However, I won't be getting into the WRS til mid 2011, as I'll be going back to uni in January. I hope to register before that though. See you on track :)👍

8/10 races I have done so far on GT5 have been with guys that just take you out as if GT is some arcadey game. (In public lobbies)

I want to do some competitive races :)
